That scene with all the deceased brothers reuniting and meeting their 'older' brother broke me
Such a shame that they chose not to add Chris. I guess that they wanted to cut them out because the pacing was getting way too complicated, as well as the fact the story was already getting to depressing, but I would’ve preferred that they stayed as true as they could’ve.
@@osmanyousif7849 yeah but tbh there is no excuse for leaving out Chris. Regardless of the pacing or it seeming unrealistic. It's real. I just wish they respected Chris more because his death was arguably the saddest. Dude actually did love wrestling and wanting to be wrestler and had so much passion.
It was the line "I use to be a brother...and I'm not a brother anymore." that had me sobbing hard. I broke down immediately.
It’s great that your biggest takeaway was the brotherly bond between the brothers. The main point Kevin Von Erich wanted the film to portray was how much they all loved each other. That was all he cared about and it did a great job of that.
I’m sorry you ended up in the hospital, Nick. I hope that you’re doing better.
Kevin is the bravest person for going through all that and not giving up, such a inspiration to future wrestlers...
This movie breaks my heart, they all didn't deserve this
Same
"I know this has to have a happy ending".... made me sad knowing just how much more tragic the ending gets, especially when you factor in that they left out another real life brother, Chris, who also committed suicide in real life.
This movie is one of the most tragic things I have ever experienced. It is such a well done movie I loved it so much!
Mike’s note is just so freaking eerie. It’s so short and straight forward, that shot of it open on the table just sends chills down my spine. God, this story is so tragic.
Kerry said to many friends & family before killing himself that he kept hearing his brothers calling to him & believed that his own death was inevitable.. That always stuck with me.. How so very heartbreaking.. Smh.. R.I.P. to the Von Erichs.. Kevin is such a strong man.. Any man that has gone through all he has would have to be.. ❤
In real life fritz found Kerry. He said he’d never seen a more peaceful look in his face.
Yeah, they left the sixth brother who also died by a self inflicted gunshot wound out of the movie because it would have been too long. IIRC Kevin was there when they found him, so they kind of combined Kerry and Chris's death stories by having Kevin find him instead.
It's my favorite movie of 2023 as well. It is so well done and besides the absense of the final brother, it is very faithful to the source material.
If you don't know how Chris von Erich died
On September 12, 1991, at about 9 P.M., Chris was found by his brother Kevin and mother outside of their family farm in Edom, suffering from a self-inflicted 9mm gunshot wound to the head.[13] According to Kevin, Chris came to him in the middle of the night, wanting back a videocassette recorder (VCR) Kevin borrowed from him. After noticing Chris sitting alone on top of a hill, Kevin went out and talked with him, where he revealed his suicidal tendencies concerning his condition (he had broken his arm earlier that month). After Kevin pleaded with him not to harm himself, Chris reassured him he wouldn't, but after Kevin left, he shot himself in the head.
This is from google, it’s not accurate it’s based on her say. Stop posting it..
@VictorLugosi Maybe the vcr part isn't true, but Kevin literally confirmed that he talked to Chris right before he shot himself. If you watch Kevin's episode of Dark Side of the Ring, you can hear him say it.
the story of the real Von Erich family was actually even more tragic than the movie, there were actually 6 brothers in total, the 6th and youngest brother Chris also died and he was excluded from the movie because his situation was very similar to Mike's, they both were forced into wrestling to replace a dead brother and both later died by suicide. Chris died before Kerry did, but the director felt adding Chris would've been repetitive and too much tragedy in the movie. The movie also did not mention the fact that Kevin's parents later divorced and they have since both died. So Kevin has lost all of his brothers and parents, he is the only survivor.
Plus that Kerry had two girls with his wife.
@@LeighMet and David was also married and had a daughter that died at just 13 weeks. But I think the director wanted the movie to focus mainly on Kevin, because he is the only survivor, so the story is told from his pov. Adding his nieces into the story too would've taken up too much screentime, they're not that important. The director even excluded Chris from the movie, I doubt he cared about Kevin's nieces.
Which is why this should have been a mini series@@iamlinda100
Chris actually loved wrestling he wanted to be a star but his disabilities didn’t allow that which people believe played into his suicide
The oldest brother Jack Jr died after being electrocuted and then drowned facedown in a snowpuddle after stepping on a trailer tongue. He was only 6 or 7 years old.
That makes their desire to get a real house even sadder, living in a trailer literally killed their oldest son 😢
Damn bro I saw this in the big screen theater and I sobbed and cried. Heartbreaking movie but I love the fact that they were a loving family of brothers in that sense. Not so much the parents but the brothers loved each other and that was great. I grew up in Texas in the 80's and experienced their whole story.
Kerry was a discus thrower and was training to be a part of team USA's track and field Olympic team, but the USA boycotted the Olympics due to Soviet Russia's invasion of Afghanistan. Friz looked angry there because when he was younger, he too was training to go to the Olympics, and Kevin has said in interviews that his dad's best throw would've won Gold had he gone. Fritz could not afford to pay for the trip to the Olympics on his own and because he had gotten married the AAU wouldn't pay for the trip, so he too missed out on an opportunity to compete in the Olympics.
When Fritz was in high school, he set the high school record for the longest discus throw in the state of Texas. He held that record until his son Kerry beat it.
“As a kid, he just wasn’t there to play with one day” oh this films already messing me up😭😭😭😭
Rip Jackie Jr
Rip David
Rip Mike
Rip Kerry
Rip Chris
🙏
Kevin Is The Only One Left.
SOOO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS NICK!!!
Nick I honestly feel really sorry about you having to deal with depression, i hope everything is going well right now
These were my heros growing up watched them every Saturday night❤😭
Hello NickFlix - I’m so sorry that you haven’t been doing well. Hopefully you’ll feel better in time…
By the way, another great professional wrestling movie is called The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke! Or have you seen that one already?
Take care!
It sucks that this movie didn't really feature one von Erich brother that is happened to be Chris
Crazy thing is that it was actually total of 5 brothers that he lost. Jack Jr., David, Kerry, Mike, and Chris. Chris was combined with Mike in the film.
I know this is a little off-topic, but I love the new t-shirt, Nick!! It has a nice space aesthetic. Is it based on a movie or TV show or is it an original design?
Also, sorry depression and sickness have been making things such a pain for you lately!! I'm always hoping that you heal completely and get back to doing what you love more often! 💖
It’s an original design and thank you!!
hey nick😀😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃don't be sorry for taking some time for yourself dude just happy your doing man!!!! i love your reactions!!!
You’re such a sweet soul ❤ This movie already makes me cry every time I watch it but seeing you tear up made me cry with you ❤Love this movie ❤
Believe it or not, this story is even more tragic in reality.
When I was little I always wanted to be one of the von erichs, I just thought they were so cool
It sucks Chris wasn't even involved in this
Loved this movie. Thank you for reacting to it.
The oldest brother (Jack Jr.) I believe was electrocuted by a fence, where he fell face down in melted snow and drowned. There was a sixth brother actually that they left out of the movie for runtime, Chris Von Erich. He sadly also passed the same way Kerry did in his 20’s, by his own hand. So Kevin literally lost five brothers. Three of them by their own hands. It’s truly horrific.
The iron claw is a great classic movie.
Him talking about collegiate wrestling when he said his girlfriend told him it was about wrestling tells me he has no idea what he is in store for lmao
The real life story behind this movie is so absolutely heartbreaking.. Fritz had 6 sons originally & only one remains alive today.. Fritz dying of brain & lung cancer.. The various ways in which all the brothers die (including Chris, who they didn't even put in the movie bc they felt it was already sad enough, which says a lot), from electrocution & drowning in snow to ruptured intestines to overdose to self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the head & to the chest.. The fact that every 2 or 3 years Kevin would lose yet another member of his family.. Add in the fact that even a couple of the wrestlers they feature in this that faced the brothers, Bruiser Brody & Gino Hernandez, were ALSO taken far too soon & met such grim ends (Bruiser was murdered in Mexico & the murderer was never charged & Gino overdosed, but still people to this day think he was murdered).. And the fact that Chavo Guerrero, Jr. was the actors' coach behind the scenes & he is the nephew of the late Eddie Guerrero, who we also lost way too soon in '05.. This movie is surrounded by SOOO much loss & heartbreak & yet is SUCH a powerful, amazing film.. Poor Kevin has been through so very much in his life.. This story has always gotten to me & they did such a great job with the majority of this tragic movie.. Thanks for watching this, Nick..❤
I'm so sorry you went through such a painful time a while ago, Nick 🫂🤍! Hope you're feeling better now 🙂🫂🤍!
I truly suggest you looking into the Dark Side of the Ring episode about the family. Kevin is a big part of it. The whole story of the family is much sadder than what was portrayed in the film which makes it understandable why the director cut out certain things.
Hi nick how are u ?i got to say watching this with my friends it realy traumatized me so....badly that i didn't think i stopped crying and i did after half an hour 😢💞🩷🤍🕊🕊🌈💐
its unfortunate that they didnt show chris von erich in the movie.
For me it’s the contrast between Kevin and Fritz. At the end of the movie Kevin is open with his boys. They let him feel his sorrow and he doesn’t hide from them. He plays with them. And he is surrounded by his family and their love. Fritz never showed his son’s affection. He didn’t play with them he just trained them. In the end he and his wife are alone together in an empty house filled with shadows and regret.
I’m sorry you ‘ ve been in the hospital , I Hope you are better
My heart breaks when I hear the name von Erich their history as a family kills me they had so much fame and fortune but also loss and heartbreak Kevin did the right thing in the end but the ending with all the dead brothers literally 💔 especially meeting their eldest brother in life their will always be hardships no matter what it is just up to us on what we do with it I didn't know you were a wrestler Nick that must have been a interesting life amazing video as always I can't wait for the next one
How are you doing Nick? I hope ur doing well🙏🏻🤍
Been doing better recently Camila thanks for asking!!
@@nickflix8657awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
One of the saddest movies I have ever seen, I knew it would break you.
I’ve saw that movie few weeks ago when it came out
33:37 Its like a rock sinks in my gut with this transition 😢
Great reaction, thank you! What a sad story :(
Can you watch bohemian rhapsody (2018) it does have a bit of gay things in it but it’s still amazing and it’s about the band Queen
What’s wrong with gay things lol? Not coming at you or anything, you just phrased that kinda oddly
Fritz is such an interesting person in wrestling. He's described as being very physically loving towards his sons, lots of hugs etc. But it was always, "Yes sir, No sir" with them too. Very strange dichotomy
Hope you're doing better nick
You often cry alongside me watching these. My wonder now though is if you cut out the big tears at the end or am I the only one who cried so loud that my neighbor knocked on my door to check if I was okay?😢
Omg nick you have to watch the lucky one one day
Maybe you should react Abominable (2019), you’re gonna love it, I promise you.
Please react to the nut job 2014 please ?
Best vídeo man
Side note: This movie perfect captures the dominant parenting style of the 60s 70s & 80s
Dominant and yet oddly neglectful from the mom’s side, on occasion. It’s like they blew hot and cold. Not my experience being raised in the 60/70s.
I love WWE that great story in 2009 inducted in hall of fame
The ric flair match build up was intense in theaters! Idk why people are crying and complaining about how the actor portrayed ric in the interview scene it’s for the movie bruh it’s not a 100% accurate documentary
As a recomandation I think the next movie you maybe check out should be 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Jackie died at age 6 from an accidental electrocution.
When hazbin hotel 1-8 comes i hope today or this weekend
Hey, Nick. I was wondering if you could watch Yu-Gi-Oh!. This show was my childhood, and I feel like you are going to need a couple of comfort episodes for a while.
Yo I am only a little ways in the reaction, but do you have a morning routine or do you just wake up looking unbelievably handsome
And another reaction Love and Mercy story of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys 2015
Feel free to watch Stuart little 2.

You must be my older brother, Jackie.
