Use a flat block with light sandpaper or ideally a flat stone to sand the metal flat after doing the grinding and really try to keep grinding dust away from your surface plate... I had a piece of granite countertop as makeshift surface plate and it worked pretty well also you can make a hand scraper from an old file or something made of tool steel just look up how a machinist hand scraper blade is supposed to be shaped... It won't last as long as a carbide scraper but you can just keep sharpening it
Thank you for your share knowledge, yes I will because I never had done it before. Otherwise I haven't any tools enough to make all these as see my video all equipment I used are different way. Thank you again
Thanks for your comment. Yes I do happy with my old lathe but to small and the plate metals I used are very thin especially when I used to mill and cut the big pieces always shaking. So I'm happy make new one to be power and more experience than. Thanks again I hope you comfortable

Good your getting better! When using your makeshift surface plate try not to grind it out of shape with your parts.

You can also use a dremel with a stone to perform the scraping. Its very fast!
👏👏👏
Thank you for your best 🌟
Hello, I wanted to ask you a question. Why are you making a new lathe? Maybe the first lathe you made doesn't work right? Greetings from Spain 🇪🇸🇪🇸
