Honda knows there’s a market for a practical, reliable, affordable SUV - and this is it. Nice color, too - even a moonroof! It’s a great feature of your channel that you review all kinds of models, not just those with flash. Thanks for posting!
I rented an HR-V last week for a road trip (identical to this one) and fell in love. So much room and fun to drive for the size. The only downside for me was the auto-dimming high beams. They were way to sensitive and would only stay on high for short periods and would go back to low when I would pass any sign or construction barrel. I eventually just turned it off and just used it manually. Outside of that, I would totally buy this and will consider it when my lease is up on my current car.
Love this car...but that motor.....so sluggish. Agonizingly slow. Test drove it and was actually stunned at how slow it was. Maybe better next update. Great review guys!
in the 2022 version of the HRV, I noticed a Manual Transmission. Almost certainly, the MT is headed for other markets, but if it were to come to the US, I will be first in line for one. I loved my prior Honda Fits and this is just a raised Honda Fit with a different skin.
Just booked a test drive for one of these tomorrow after totaling my 2018 civic (rip Sandy). With my insurance payout for a down payment, it’ll be less than a $200 car payment to take one of these home instead. Essentially an upgrade!
The one thing I would have liked to have seen you just glossed over and that was how the rear seat folds. Do you have a flat floor with the seat down or not?
My wife got a used 2021 Honda HR-V today with 22k mile on odometer. We originally went looking for an CRV but my wife said the CRV still seen to big for her. She is 4'10 and 125IB so she test drive the Honda HRV and like it more because its smaller and fit her lol. We ended up buying the HRV. but i'm never driving her Honda HRV because its to small for me. I'm 5'9 tall and 260IB. I drive an 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD OFFROAD 4X4
It’s crazy this car use the same engine of a 2006 to 2011 civic😆 to expensive, low ground clearance, small space not for me , great review as always guys 👍
Get the Trax or Trailblazer as they are turbochargered, more efficient at highway speed limits, and cost no where near Acura prices of $30K but almost 1/3rd off with discounting.
Lol won't last as long that's why you pay less. Your trans will be shot at 100k if you make that that's not including not having ac after 5 years as they are know to go out. Pay less you pay more in the future. Meanwhile my hrv will hit every bit of 200k with no problems.
@@mikie1466 there have been plenty of 2013-2014 Buick Encore's for sale on autotrader. It is a good car that is easy to maintain and fuel efficient. Plus it is no tin-box like Japanese economy cars.
Talk to people with their turbo charged Chevy Cruze or Sonic with those turbocharged Ecotech engines. Very poor reliability. Constant engine problems. Remember a turbo is just something else to go wrong that you do not need. Very expensive to repair. Nope I'll pass.
@@scrambler69-xk3kv the problem is the diagnosis, not the failed part. Turbochargers are good for close to 300,000 miles and should be not be replaced when it is a PCV valve.
If Honda injects some of the new design from the new Civic and overseas Vezel for the next gen this could be a hot seller. Right now I'd rather go for the Kia Seltos.
The Seltos has a current recall on it for improperly heat treated piston rings (scuffing the cylinder walls and causing excessive oil consumption and accelerating connect rod bearing damage) which could also cause an engine fire. I would stay away from anything Hyundai or Kia related, they have too many active recalls out right now.
Wish they still offered Touring AWD... couldn't find any in my state, only few in other states... but then it priced similar to CR-V Touring lol so got the CR-V
Awesome Review Guys! I would honestly wait for the next generation to be revealed and I really hope that they reveal it soon especially since they revealed it in other global markets.
Seltos, Crosstrek, Kona, or CX-30 is what I would buy over this. If I had to choose one, it would be the Crosstrek probably. If not the Crosstrek, the Seltos.
I bought this car for my sister. It’s an amazing car but the only uncomfortable part is the driver seat. You can’t put ur feet under the seat. So idk is that removable or can I put a seat from aftermarket?
@phil erup I mean when you have a long drive and shit and you know how u can put your legs a bit underneath but the H-rv it’s so weird . It’s not fun for a daily drive it gets very uncomfortable
the reason you can't put your feet under the seat is because that is where the fuel tank is located, they do it to free up the space for the magic seats at the back so I don't think you can remove that.
I don't understand HONDA??? This current model just needs to be tweaked. Taller @ more horse power. The so called redesign called VEZEL looks wierd!!! I know the current HRV is based off the Honda Fit. An affordable alternative to the CRV
Howdy, excellent review as always y’all and I definitely think this is the underrated Honda vehicle! Also, here’s a little joke: Drew:Nothing in this class has a lot of power. Hyundai Kona 1.6T:Hi, hello, hey, hola, I’m here! 😸😸
I would like a hybrid or plug in Ev HRV with a longer rear end design so it doesn't look so short and cute off. Also to give my rear seat passengers more rear crumple room if a collision were to occur.
Those rims look terrible to me lol. My aunt has a 2018 Hrv EX, I drove it once...it wouldn't have ben my choice if I was shopping for a vehicle in that class. Coupon storage or charge your phone? lol
@@MickeyDee You can’t compare an existing vehicle to one that hasn’t been released. With that perspective, you could wait indefinitely for future release while never actually making a decision.

Bought one in EX trim with no regrets, super reliable and affordable with AWD and spacious plus saving on fuel.

This Honda i really like. No turbo means much better reliability long term

Yep, I 100 per cent agree. Just something else to go wrong and cost you money to have repaired.
My local Honda dealer just got the 2022 HR-V. No changes inside or outside that I could see for 2022.
Yeah apparently the all-new models been delayed a year 🙁

Loud as heck too
The 2021 Honda HR- V looks alright, I can’t wait to see the next model
The 2022 model has already been released
JUNK
The JUNK yards will be littered with these cars in under 10 years with blown CVTs Honda just doesn't make good cars anymore. what a joke

Honda no need any changing in this Hr V version only little bit make big longer & normal engine 2.0 liter, that’s it this is my recommendation thanks.

Great looks , very practical and extremely reliable . Like it ? Buy it !
Almost to the big 25 with a couple of zeros. You guys got it!
I can’t wait to see the 2022 version of this car. I currently own a 2019 Civic Hatchback and in a market for a Small SUV
I’m already happy with my 2020 hrv-s model,no fancy features and very economical to drive..
Same

I would wait for the 2022 model.
The new one is growing on me, but I still think the last Gen (which I have) looks better
I agree
RIP Honda Fit :(
About how high up off the ground is the front seat would you say?

If only it comes in Obsidian Blue, then I would have it as well....but I am happy with my white one AWD Sport, it has more upgrades than this EX-L.

2022 looks much better but maybe higher price
The eco sport doesn’t compete the CHR
The eco sport is a Sub 4m category crossover while the HRV is a Sub compact crossover
The 2022 model in Europe and Asia is hybrid power train. The design is very different as well. Not clear yet what the US version will be though.
I don't think they bring the hybrid version over to the US.

Agreed, I used to love Hondas styling around 2000-2001.
It’s reliable and affordable with AWD, if you are into fancy looking go for Mazda.
Ugly and cheap looking HR-V for the older model.
