I recently bought the 2022 HRV and I love the versatility of this smaller SUV. It has great cargo space, rear seats that flip up for even more space. I do not however like the console space. It is small, and offers little more than an arm rest. I feel the same way about the door interior side pocket space. Unnecessarily small and only useful for a water bottle or sunglasses. All in all I love this car.
Just got the sport version also I don't like that ether and the fact that the radio is 180 watts door pockets are small the the window buttons all should be automatic but I saw a preview of the 2023 model big big big difference in every way I am satisfied thou the black rims the sleek little exterior design fogs lights it don't cokes with Honda sensors in the front thou
2017 first one purchased new. 2022 just purchased used last week. Our daughter bought one 2019 because my mom had one and she loved it. Live in Duluth MN and with Record snow last year this HRV ( Hot Rod Vance-named after my dad) Never got stuck in the snow while others were stuck and we tried to get stuck in the snow but know chance with the power. We love our HRV and the power ❤️
I just bought one today and you answered more questions for me than my salesman. He was very helpful but I had a lot of questions that I didn’t even know to ask until after I got home.
Bought a 2022 HR-V Sport AWD in aegean blue, all black interior. Love the look with the black 18" rims with the continental pro contact tires. Impressions of driving it: For it's size, it's ride is exceptionally smooth and responsive. Tight steering with little body roll. Impressive. Braking very good and acceleration is good from standing stop. Paddle shifting is fun with this vehicle! Overall, I am glad I bought it. Great ride, great gas mileage, excellent storage and some of the best styling in a compact SUV. Rear seating is comfortable, even with 3 in the back seats. With the 10 year, 100000 bumper to bumper warranty, you can't go wrong. 4.8 stars out of 5.
This was my choice for my first “mom car” lol and I LOVE IT! And it doesn’t feel overwhelming SUV-ish. Still very stylish and the gas mileage is awesome. Same color as the model vehicle in the vid and idk what it is. That blue is absolutely gorgeous!
I found your channel when researching the 2021 Honda CR-V. Ultimately I purchased one and love the CVT. I think people just don't like what they don't understand. Earlier versions may have had some rough edges, but the current technology seems to work very well. I have driven/owned lots of different cars (Fords, Chevy, Honda and BMW) and test drove many more brands / types. Learning something new and adapting takes a little time and effort. Keep up the great work!
My spouse got an HRV as a loaner car today and as he was driving me home from work he said, "Look what happens when I turn on the right turn signal!" I told him I loved the blind spot camera but wondered aloud about how many people were driving cars with this feature for whom it's a total waste because he and I seem to be the only ones in our area to use our turn signal.
I drive a 2018LX AWD CVT and love it. During summer I get 35-40 mpg highway. I personally love the CVT. It’s no drag racer from 0-40 mph but above that it’s quite peppy. I got no trouble moving around 70 mph interstate traffic or passing. This vehicle is quiet, handles exceptionally well. The true kicker is the *magic seats* . I fit a house door inside 😂. A twin air mattress fits with the front seats moved forward and back seats laid down. My only real complaint is Hondas cheap infotainment screen. Even the one in this vid is low res and dated. Last but not least these are a beast in the snow. I can’t remember remotely being stuck in my HRV.
I never comment on other drivers because I myself am a very bad, inconsiderate, rule breaking driver! I just got myself a new 2022 HRV-EX (after my 1995 Civic) and so far, I like it, even though I don't drive much but maybe I will.
Love your sarcasm. I own an HRV. Bought it because of the Magic Seats (love!). Wish it had more power and that the center console was laid out like other vehicles. Like the blind spot camera but dual sides would be better. Wish it had more options for a light interior fabric. Was hoping for more changes in the 2022.
I purchased the 2022 HR V EXL AWD and it doesn’t have the features I am used to. Like a trunk open button nor does it open the trunk pop open from the remote. There is not enough storage in the console and it isn’t very powerful on take off. I will be trading this as soon as I make a few payments.
I just bought a 2022 CR-V EX and a 2022 HR-V EX. Both in that very same beautiful color of Aegean Blue Metallic. I absolutely love them and they look fantastic together side by side. Due to this, I for one am glad the new generation for these two models did not release this year.
I have a 2020 hrv sport and love its look and design way better than the new version they plan to come out with. If honda is smart keep it the way it is and upgrade on this design, dont mess with a good thing.
Oh no! My 2016 Civic has the lane wane camera and I just assumed that any new Honda I get would have it! Sad to hear some don't, I feel like I can't drive without it now! I hope it shows up on the 2023 HR-V, your videos have convinced me to wait for its release rather than buy a 2022 now, thank you!
I just got a 2022 Honda HRV and am loving it except for 1 thing. It didn't come with remote start so Honda installed it for me. The thing is I can get it to start remotely but when I grab the door handle to get in, it dies. Why is this? What am I doing wrong?
I have a 2020 touring AWD HRV and love it. I have to use sport mode if I want more power but it is a solid car.. I'm glad it has a regular shifter. I will never buy a car with a push button shifter.. I have Honda Lane Watch and love it
Love the sarcasm and the narration. I’m in the market to buy a new vehicle and am driving this as a rental. I am looking for what all the various steering column buttons do as I’m not familiar at all, and hoped you would cover that. Guess I’ll need to actually read the manual for myself. Oh, and I DO use the blinker option on all my past and present vehicles. Huh! Who knew? Thanks.
The CVT is built in-house by Honda and, like Toyota, includes a 'take-off' gear that makes it more reliable than other brands. My 2021 HR-V EX would better suit me if Honda traded the Sunroof and AWD for a powered driver's seat with memory and a better stereo. More power with around 100 added pound-feet of torque wouldn't hurt, either! Everything else about my HR-V is perfect!
I wish that 2020 had blind spot monitoring like our Subaru does. When I purchased it I was hoping it included it since the Honda's mine. And it has saved me plenty of time especially when you're driving in Philadelphia or any other highways that split off multiple different directions and constantly lots of traffic but not enough that yeah come to a stop.
That blue one is exactly the same one I bought just a couple days ago. Even has the same rims. Tinted windows and a sunroof. Pretty decent amount of bells and whistle’s also ..I’m pretty happy with it paddle shifters also!! No it does not have a lot of horsepower but it’s plenty zippy!!
There is a reason this HRV is a super hit compared to its Toyota or Mazda counterparts 1. Sleek and compact design 2. not too big 3. lane watch - big ++++ Lane watch is "The reason" i bought my HRV if they take away lane watch, and make the next model BIG ( similar to other models and other makers ), not sure what the makers are trying to say !!! No lane watch - the new consumers will stop buying it Hyundai kona has a cute model on the line and they are offering lane watch Honda will lose its customers to Hyundai
I drove a 2022 Honda HR-V hybrid for my road trip from San Francisco to Yellowstone National Park. I drove over 2100 miles and I average 32MPG for my trip. What I like: camping mode works like wonder when I sleep in it in camping ground when temperature was around 30 degree. It was comfortable to sleep inside while the engine is keeping the temperature around 75 degree. Well equipment with technology: lane centering, blind spot monitor, power seat for both driver and passenger seats, moon roof, Adaptive Cruise Control. What I don’t like: 32MPG is low for a hybrid vehicle. Lane centering is not reliable. Seat is very uncomfortable. It is the worst seat I have tried ever.
I have a freind who has a honda cross tour and it has the honda lane watch and I thought it was the coolest thing. I need a new car and am highly considering the HR-V and the Honda lane watch is definelty a plus, I feel like this should be on every car.
I went from an 06 CRV to a 19 Honda Fit which I found was too small for me. I upped to a 21 HRV and so far I am not disappointed. love the right camera. I use it all the time and don't want to be without it. when friends ride with me they are in awe of this feature. My only concern is making me to write this comment... Defrosting the windows AND getting heat on my feet in the winter! The Defroster for windshield shuts down the heater on my feet? I've tried every setting to no avail. Finally figured to keep the rear passenger windows defogged, I need to circulate outside air but any way to run both of these functions?? I've been driving this cold MI weather with high heat on windshield and feet. Your response would help. The service dept wanted to keep the car for a few days to check it out. Thanks so much. BTW....the video is my car color. love it!! and my 06 is still going strong. 260K miles and living in Fresno with my son!
Rear window defroster is also the side mirror defroster and is the button in lower right of console. Instead of using the windshield defroster button, press directly on mode (symbol with two arrows and a person) to cycle to the feet and windshield option and turn fan to high to get toasty toes and clear vision.
I love my HRV Ex-L, 2019 with 18,500 miles. I've had it almost a year. My gripe is not enough heat for me. I keep it cranked to highest temperature, full fan, and still freeze here in New England. Also, the "heated "seats are ridiculous. I feel nothing at all. Took back to Honda dealer as it's a Certified Pre Owned, and they said that's all you get. Certified Preowned is a Scam in itself. 2 free oil changes and a car wash. Hmmmm..
It’s too bad the car equivalent, the Fit, is gone from the US. Love the backseat in both. Keep the sarcasm coming. The lane watch is very helpful on interstate driving. I have it on my civic but I know it’s gone with the 11th generation.
Nothing has changed since I bought my 2017 lol. I’ll wait for the 2023. I was going to go to a new Subaru but they do not have the lanewatch camera that Honda has. I love that feature and so t want to be without it.
I bought a 2017 HRV Manual transmission a few years ago and I can honestly say for the most part I am satisfied with it . There are only a few things that pisses me off. For one hill start assist is a problem, it holds the brake a little too long on hills and according to Honda, there's no way to turn it off, completely off. Another thing I don't like is I can't see the coolant temperature. I hate when some car manufacturers do that. Oh and of course they got rid of the manual transmission so looks like I won't be buying another HRV in the future.
Nice video, I bought my HRV end of 2017, like the look of the civic, but HRV handled better in test drive for me. Wish they had included lane assist on the left and Android auto on my model.
I am looking at the Hrv and live in PA. What I'm trying to find out is, if any of the Hrv variants have a heated steering wheel. Itseems to be a difficult thing to find out. Thanks for the informative video.
I just test drove it and now have it on a 24hr overnight pass. I'll put in the dislikes first. Don't like how sluggish the engine seems. Don't like that there's no power seat controls for the driver. Don't like how the front storage is designed so you have to reach back and grope for stuff you put in them. Don't like that there's no sunglass holder above the rearview mirror. Don't like that there's no pocket on the passenger seat for passengers to put magazines etc. Don't like that there's no power button for the trunk to open up. And I don't really like CVT -- maybe I don't quite understand it but when I was parked today at Wegman's I heard the transmission humming up and down... is that normal? The car only has 10 miles on it and if I get financing I'll probably buy it. Now, I DO like the way it drives. Yes, it's sluggish, but I'm not a speedster, and I no longer like cars that make me WANT to accelerate because I once WAS a maniac driver lol... those days are behind me now. I like how it handles once you're on the road, the tight steering and roomy interior that doesn't feel cheap. I also love the moonroof and how high I can seat myself and not feel like I'm gonna get ejected. Thanks for your video. I think that driver was looking for an address... ;)
I just ordered a 2022 black ex the other day they offered me a trade in on my 2019 I couldn't resist, it's supposed to be built this week Honda's a little behind as all manufacturers are with worker shortages cuz people would rather sit home and collect checks then work. Anyway I'm not sure how long it'll take to reach the dealer after it's built I'm thinking a couple of weeks. I was a bit disappointed when I ordered it when I found out the 2022s didn't have the redesign like the international version I can deal with that I guess it's a little dull and dated but at least it's a different color in my 2019 and an ex and not an LX which is what my old one is 😒 I like the blue color of that one but I I'll never own a blue vehicle in the state of Kentucky cuz I don't want to be mistaken for a UK fan LOL
@@Wraywray432 you mean the Black Amethyst? I just test drove it and have it on a 24-pass. I don't like how sluggish the engine seems but we'll see how it drives tomorrow. Did you receive yours?
My gf just got a HRV sport and I can’t figure out what the trunk open button on the key fob is for. It does not pop open the trunk or anything, Just flashes the light. If anyone can help me please.
Nice small SUV. I just wish it had slightly more horsepower under the hood, as it seems underpowered. Maybe adding 15-20 horses to the base models, or even a HR-V Si-(Turbo) model with about 200 HP and these SUV's would literally "FLY" right out of the showrooms. :-)
Can anyone tell me what that button is to the right of the shift lever? (see it at 7:39) I'm looking into buying a used 2022 but this button is missing and it's just a hole there. I'm wondering if it's important enough to ask for it to be repaired before buying or to ask a price reduction so I can get it repaired. If it's not so important, maybe I can use it a a pen holder. :) Thanks for the review, it's been helpful.
I'm with you about that inattentive driver. Too bad about the voice over once you got up to cruising speed. I really wanted to hear the level of cabin noise. Thanks for your video.
Hi Bonnie! Here is a video with an HR-V that will give you what you are looking for. I have set the link the start with the test drive. I hope this will be helpful for you. ua-cam.com/video/o91L9MjX_sI/v-deo.html
The infotainment center in all the controls on the dash suck my wife had a 2019 we traded it in for the 2022 she's had it now for 4 months and still hasn't got used to all the bells and whistles
Do not buy Honda cars ,after you buy they do not care , I got 2022 hrv since September 2022 is sitting in the workshop coz Honda of American can’t provide a seatbelt

I wish Honda would update the engine to give the HR V some power and I also wish they would sell a hybrid model in the USA.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
Great review and thank you. Looking for AWD, heated seats and Moonroof if and version had that. Looks like a neat Car!!
Obvious question is why does Honda only introduce a "new model" lastly in the USA?
Europe is an old developed continent but America is still backward in everything
Nice video, I bought my HRV end of 2017, like the look of the civic, but HRV handled better in test drive for me. Wish they had included lane assist on the left and Android auto on my model.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and share.
I am looking at the Hrv and live in PA. What I'm trying to find out is, if any of the Hrv variants have a heated steering wheel. Itseems to be a difficult thing to find out. Thanks for the informative video.
Thank you! Unfortunately, there is no heated steering wheel on any trim level of the HRV at this time.
The 2022 model is better, especially since the 2023 model no longer has the magic rear seats.
Well, at least a little clarity on the apparent redesigned HR-V for the U.S. & Canadian markets ...
I love the blind spot camera
I say the same type things about other drivers. haha Love the review. I think I will be looking at these tomorrow.
Thank you, Connie! Let me know how things go.
I don't like that it doesn't have a temperature gage. I like to monitor how hot the car is running.
You know what I wish Honda would improve...the sound of their horns.
I’d like to see that available on all cars period
I think that driver was looking for an address... ;)
That was a great video about the vehicle. Very funny also I might add, with all them bad drivers there.
Glad you enjoyed! 😀
I was a bit disappointed when I ordered it when I found out the 2022s didn't have the redesign like the international version I can deal with that I guess it's a little dull and dated but at least it's a different color in my 2019 and an ex and not an LX which is what my old one is 😒
I like the blue color of that one but I I'll never own a blue vehicle in the state of Kentucky cuz I don't want to be mistaken for a UK fan LOL
How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking?
I’m waiting for my midnight purple 2022 Honda HR-V EX to arrive from transit 😜🚗.
@@Wraywray432 you mean the Black Amethyst? I just test drove it and have it on a 24-pass. I don't like how sluggish the engine seems but we'll see how it drives tomorrow. Did you receive yours?
You're hilarious, Tom! I love your dry humor!
Thank you, Braeton! 😂
I got a 2022 HRV Sport AWD it only had 14 miles on it before Christmas in 2021
Congratulations on your purchase!
Question about this model is the spare a full size spare tire??
How to get the fuel to miles driven/ miles to go with the gas you have on the dash
TPMS light kicked on for a second at 6:53 lol
I’m surprised they still don’t make the speedometer digital. It would be more accurate.
My gf just got a HRV sport and I can’t figure out what the trunk open button on the key fob is for. It does not pop open the trunk or anything, Just flashes the light. If anyone can help me please.
I like this small Suv. This will be easy to get in the tightest parking spaces.
Exactly !!
Do the side view mirrors fold in and if so, how?
Manually, they do fold in but you have to push them by hand.
I was wandering the same, I just bought mine and thought it was hard to fold them, maybe they did not fold. Glad to hear they do fold in.
Thanks for the review, it's been helpful.
Beautiful, I Just bought one.
Congratulations on your purchase! Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment.
Do they have apple carplay
Yes, it has Apple CarPlay.
lane watch is blind spot monotoring, but only on one side of the car !!!
That ha always been my question. Why not on both sides?
Do these hr-v has trackers ?
This is A pretty car love the design
I'm with you about that inattentive driver. Too bad about the voice over once you got up to cruising speed. I really wanted to hear the level of cabin noise. Thanks for your video.
Hi Bonnie! Here is a video with an HR-V that will give you what you are looking for. I have set the link the start with the test drive. I hope this will be helpful for you.

Sadly the square cup holders don't work with the Cup Call Phone Holder.
Hopefully they leave that disincentive line from the front to the rear door latch. The rear needs a light bar to replace those funky light set up.
I love my Canadian 2020 HRV SPORT AWD.
Turn light lights hilarious
The infotainment center in all the controls on the dash suck my wife had a 2019 we traded it in for the 2022 she's had it now for 4 months and still hasn't got used to all the bells and whistles
I wish all Honda models should have Honda lane watch camera
I could not agree more.
How do you turn on the breaking collision feature?
Do not buy Honda cars ,after you buy they do not care , I got 2022 hrv since September 2022 is sitting in the workshop coz Honda of American can’t provide a seatbelt
I wouldn’t recommend towing with a cvt fast way to burn out the transmission.
Does this car have a rear camera?
Yes
i would not wanna drive there......looks like my road patience wont be able to handle it HAHAHAHA
LOL It is a miracle I can handle it.
is this car has remote start?
your green light comment LMAO
