I like to think it's all part of the process. There's probably a lot of complexity behind the scenes, I see it as taking a step back to move a couple of steps forward. A year ago we only had PIPE with mod maps. Now we've got old school PIPE, streets, free mashbox which will improve streets eventually and we've got playable BMX Bastards as a competitor. It would be cool to end up with a good physics based game in streets and a decent animation locked style like Skate in Bastards.
He’s takin two steps back then one forward rn so I’m not rlly sure how that’s gonna turn out. For example mash box is consistently feeling worse due to new patches that break the game, he recently raised center of mass by 10cm which completely ruins flairs and generally feels a lot worse, he also changed physics a bit which broken manuals and pivots even more. Certain maps have problems loading and running (constant slowmo basically) and I feel like he’s only takin criticisms from old potato not from the community.
@@feranci its bad. all the magnets and stuff are such a mess. too many Yes Men gassing him up. Just riding around and jumping stuff feels way worse than streets, camera swinging and bouncing all over. people got pissed at me for saying something in the discord that we should just use streets grind system. I dont want to be a negative nancy but its clear that what he is doing is not going to be better than streets
Nobody cares if it’s physics based. We just care if it looks and feels good. I wonder if there’s a way to make the manuals not physics based so that it works like PIPE.
as an outsider with only a phone and a ps2, having played pipe on my old xbox, i think it's great this rework, it means the big update to Streets will make the game feel great 😃
It feels like the weight is shifted in the pivot and is now off center. It's almost like the wheel is hitting something, losing momentum and pivoting around the invisible object. It feels like something he's done has added a good amount of input lag for whips and other leg based tricks. They're going far slower than they were in the previous versions. Something he's changed has caused a good amount of adverse changes I don't think he was intending.
I haven’t played this game, but from the look of it, the body position/build/mobility I feel like is making the manuals and stuff look weird. Cause he’s not moving his body with the tweets. Being super stiff and no leg movement is odd. I realized halfway through the video he’s not even pedaling when you speed up. Maybe that’s why pipe felt better? Just an opinion. 🤷🏽♂️
Frustrating to see all of these rebuilds being done from mashed. PIPE was fine and just needed some tweaks. I don't think anyone cared that it wasn't physics based. He really wasted a lot of years. If BMX Bastards keeps improving I can see everyone switching to that game. Mashed really dug a hole for himself, its sad to see :/
bmx bastards has a long way to go to compete with streets. if mash dials in these new physics to be a good mix of pipe and streets which is what it looks like he is doing, its going to be awesome!
Tbh its cuz yall complaining too much. Bmx streets was good. Like what else does it need. Mash just release it who cares what these haters think. Just no skill gamers asking for better stuff when they in general aren't skilled
the twitchy controls are one of the things i dislike the most about streets it’s so hard to control especially at high speeds, as well as the camera still moving slowly
Hope you're coments on all of this make a difference to Mash while he is creating away. I really liked manys when it was just a button press but thtas just me and i get that button is needed for tricks n stuff 🎉
I thought the game was finished. I thought the game was done and just waiting for it to come to console and then apparently now it’s a new game. What’s going on?
The steam release was more of an early access type of thing. It was a way to get a version of the game out to the public, but also help MASH get some funding. But I am a bit out of the loop as I am too only waiting for the console release, but apparently MASH has been doing a lot of rework tryna figure out what kinda system he wants to implement into his game. And it’s taking a lot of time and effort and throwing people off. The mention of BMX Bastards, has given the community a chance to feel an animation based engine vs a physics, and it’s divided opinions
Im 6 min in, the reason mash box looked n felt alot cleaner is prob cause the weight of the rider... aka a dize vs human. If its physic based everything will look different if the rider weighs more. So it gave a incorrect view last time... maby he should swich the body weight physics for the dice weight. Def dont look right rn if im being honest
@@TheOldPotato no ofc.. its really strange how different the two versions look, i seriously wonder if it just looks off cause the rider look so sketchy, pin legs and bow legged like he is riding a horse 😂 I think I will hold up on buying a ps5, this might take a while... (unless its the rider horrible style)
@benochoa3576 well mashbox is free so I'd deffo get that. Streets is pretty great and I've got a load of hours on it but the new physics aren't in streets yet. But they will be eventually. If you're not sure, wait till street has new physics or if it goes on sale. But mashbox is a no brainer for now
idk anything about either of these games because i have never played them the part around 5 minutes "I know what mash would say, those manuals are not physics based" Streets must be using root motion to control the character so it will mean eventually that game will feel a lot better than the other one and it will be with little things that you miss on games not using root motion because it means the bike and character move more realistically.
Am i the only one who hates these flip mechanics?? I absolutely love streets flip spin combos physics and I hope they stay in, an option to switch between both in game would be cool
Steering seems SOO stiff and twitchy compared to streets. I don’t know why everyone’s complaining so much about streets. If the game is too hard for you, just say that💀
Everyone complaining but I see this as a step in the right direction, aside from the things you pointed out, everything looks really polished and smooth. Especially vert riding.
Is it not possible for mash to get hold of the original pipe build and just build on that? There was nothing wrong with that build. I haven’t bought streets yet as I don’t want to be disappointed
Mash is such a tease and a trainwreck of a developer. Dude rushed his work out in a few months once the community put the pressure on and released a half baked game. I feel bad for all you console homies because you will not be getting Streets, or any like game, from Mash anytime soon. You have better luck waiting for Streetdog to come out. Mash will continue dripfeeding this Mashbox nonsense for months on end until he figures out the next project he wants to tackle and drops both of these to fulfill that.
yes and no. i guess you could say it works better in streets but this is feeling way better if that makes sense. again, still a lot of work ahead of this physics rebuild
