The EGR valve helps to reduce pollution by directing some exhaust gas back through the combustion chambers. If the valve is stuck the system won't work correctly, and if it leaks the engine might stall or not start at all. This video shows you how to install a new EGR valve on your 1994-2004 Chevy S-10.

Great video, gets straight to the point, no 8 minutes of padding.
I have a 1996 Izuzu Hombre (same exact truck as s10 badged differently) and can confirm the EGR valve is located in the rear of the engine, 'driver' side. Not impossible to get to or anything, just know your process is going to take a good bit longer, allot more time to do it right with a *new* gasket.

Nobody mentions what side the gasket goes I’m assuming the raised size goes against the engine block and the flat side goes up against the actual EGR valve component??
You should change the title of this video. It can’t be 1994-2000 because I have a 2001 and my engine is different. I watched the spark plug replacement video as well and my plugs are not in the same spot as the earlier model.

Incorrect location for 1994-96 I am 100% positive, maybe some other years as well. Location is in the rear on 94-96. Same process but far harder and different techniques needed to change rear egr

Be helpful if you told people what size sockets your using so people know ahead of time
Not the same as a 1994 s10 p/u with the 2.2l
