We’re all lucky that Mike catalogs these moments and puts them together in a way that accurately conveys what it’s like to be in the city for events like this. I was literally at this side for a large portion of the weekend and I can’t imagine a more accurate depiction of an amazing weekend. Put the NYC marathon on your bucket list!
So good! I like how you’ve rolled these into one long video, instead of one video per day. Really feels like a MOVIE! I don’t mind watching it over 2-3 different chunks. Great stuff!
I'm truly impressed with how you are able to make time for everyone, attend so many events and shake out runs the days prior to the marathon. I remember your first videos when you ran chicago for the first time, and how good they were, but watching this mini documentary of your NYC weekend is something else. Keep up the good work and best of luck in Sacramento!
Incredible! I follow you some years now and i can say that you make one of the best running content on youtube. Its wonderful how you create so much motivation, happiness, spirit and love in your videos. Running is truly an inspiration and joy! Keep up the good work. Greetings from Germany.
This was one of your best in-depth review of a marathon as it included days before the race, notes on the screen of people and shoes, and the timeline of the video was much appreciated. In helped to include the transportation also. Maybe in the future you could consider including the names of the hotel and the distance from the race. Just a thought.
thanks for the feedback! I stayed at a hotel just a few blocks south of central park on 7th ave. very very easy to get back to after the race. no stairs to the subway required.
Thanks for coming out Kofuzi! I'm so glad you finally got a chance to run (in my opinion) the greatest marathon in the world! This was my 7th and by far the worst weather conditions, but the city showed up as usual and carried us through the suffering. NY spectators and volunteers are incredible!! Congrats on all your success and I hope to see you again in the future!
thank you. I love making these. I know it might be a bit laughable to watch one's own content, but I've watched this video in full at least three times (after completing the edit)
@kofuzi not laughable at all. you should be proud and want to watch it. your content and presentation has come so far since I began watching ( years ago now )
I have to say that the duo of Kofuzi and Meghann Featherstun wasn't something I realized I wanted...but now I want to see! She's quickly become a favourite of mine for race planning and podcast listening on Fuel for the Sole! Get on that podcast and ask allll the questions, Mike!
Long-time fan of your channel. NYC was my first marathon (hometown race!) and one of the best days of my life. I'm so glad you got to experience what makes it so special, and share that with everyone else in only the way that you can! Top notch video
Agree with many others, thank you Mike for putting this together. This was my first NYC marathon and I was able to run it with my daughter! Very special for sure and it is nice to relive the weekend with your video! We are also running Boston 2023 and hope to see you there!
Another stellar video. I think what's often overlooked is the great audio you choose to match the video. Thanks for sharing what looked like a fantastic weekend.
Hey @kofuzi I really enjoy all your videos, it is a big part of why I was inspired to run my first half marathon and full marathon races this year after only starting to run back in May. Keep up the good work and the inspiring content!
As a three time NYC Marathon finisher it was great seeing you out there enjoying the energy of all five boroughs. Greater achievement considering the weather. Btw what is the pizza spot you hit up at 12:34?
Another super video. It was a Chicago Marathon video that you did ages ago that first brought me to your channel that was nicer than the official videos that the race organizers put out. And your quality has only gone up since.
It’s hard to add anything unique to the effusive comments already here other than to say I agree with all of them! You’ve mastered the highest level of the runner’s weekend recap format, and you’ve made me yearn to experience NYC Marathon despite my trepidations about it!
Next year is out with CHI now, but I’m sure I’ll be trying that GFA lottery in NY for ‘24. I’ll need to get in the queue for registration way earlier next time. The sheer number of shakeouts is amazing, and I’d be adding rabbit and Runners World, so most of them would be just meetups for me so as not to run an 80 mi weekend as you did, to say the least! 😂
This video captured the essence and the feel of New York and marathon weekend. I just got home from there 3 days ago (2:48:35), but I already can’t wait to go back!
Another amazing storytelling video, loved it. An evening group run through Central Park sounds great💪. Don't know how you were able to run a marathon after such a very busy few days, but the energy at the shakeous and the crowds seemed to have really helped🏃🏻♂️😎. We'll done!
Outstanding video Kofuzi brought back memories of my 2017 NY marathon and although it rained that day nothing would spoil the experience. Fantastic marathon. Ian 🇬🇧
no the only thing I care about is that you got a PRIVATE PORTA POTTY?? the horrors of lines, just gone? that's so cool! the aesthetic of this video and the new tracksmith lookbook has inspired me to do some self care and clean my room before cif tomorrow, I want to keep making running beneficial mentally, and you great for inspiring that. thanks ko!
Each time I watch your videos I keep saying its the best. However, this one trumps them all. The best part was seeing everybody I follow on YT and IG all in here, except of course Seth Demoor.
I was so looking forward to all of your content from the NYC marathon weekend after discovering your channel based your Chicago marathon videos-and you did not disappoint! One of my favorite channels I've discovered lately, keep it up!
Congratulations for always make fantastic and very complete videos from your weekend races! NYC is, like the race itself, one of the bests! Thanks for sharing! I’d like to ask though if you can send a word of comfort to all the runners that ended up at the hospital(s) ER or ICU (kidney failure) due to the heat and humidity. What they thought it would be an amazing experience it became… the worst one! And please educate runners/ people to not going beyond their limits and keep in mind that run should be fun, exciting… And Congratulations again for the fantastic NYC marathon video!! As a New Yorker made me see the city from a different angle… looks so much better in your video!!! 😁😁😁
Great Vlog. This made up my mind I want to run the Manitoba marathon again in 2023. This past June it was 100 degrees and unbearable. Race was cancelled 1.5 hrs in.
Hmmm. Great question. I thought someone was filming it, and we definitely had a sound guy there. But I haven’t heard anything about where it might live.
Awesome video! Thankyou for putting this together so quickly post-event, I felt like I was there! It has only strengthened my resolve to get to this event! Well run! 👍👊🏃🙏
Ran my first marathon in Bowling Green KY same day as NYCs, the most miles I've ever ran in my life, crazy rush my left knee still begging but can't wait for next marathon, maybe NY maybe next year..
Fantastic vid ! I had a great time at your shakeout and at the BITR shakeout.. the marathon itself was fun, if not a test to see how far I could dig to get across that line. But like you, I ran into all kinds of people I knew throughout the race !
This was my 2nd time there (I LOVED it when I ran in 2019), but it felt different this time. Everything went wrong and I PWd. I swore I would never go back even though the support in NYC is the best I’ve ever encountered. After watching your race recaps, I want to go back. Redemption!😂
This marathon was a lot of fun. It wasn’t my fastest, but my most well-paced marathon. Ran 2:50:01 and ran 21 seconds faster in the second half of the marathon. Each 5K, my average mile split was within a couple seconds of the previous 5K. All that running at 5 am in Chicagoland with 95% humidity in the summer really paid off.
what a awesome runners weekend, some ways you are lucky NY wasn't your peck race, because it would have been to hot, still got CIM like all the New Balance support & gear, very cool stuff, thanks for sharing Kofuzi onwards to cim yeppp!
someone.., or some company is going to hire you to take their race (road or trail) to the next level.. real talk.. You are an incredible presenter of your experiences

it was good to spend the weekend with you, Drew. looking forward to TRE!
Hands down, the best runner’s weekend I’ve ever had. Thanks for being a huge part of that🙏🏻😁!
So great to see you again! You’re everywhere!
Thanks so much for the interview, Mike!!! Can't wait to share the rest of it!!!! Glad you've finally had the NYC Marathon experience 💪🏾!
Kori-great to see you’re interviewing Mike. The two of you are an authentic duo. Hope you had a great NYC race!
This race is better than advertised
So good! I like how you’ve rolled these into one long video, instead of one video per day. Really feels like a MOVIE! I don’t mind watching it over 2-3 different chunks. Great stuff!
this way is a lot easier to live with. it's so much more stressful for me otherwise
I'm truly impressed with how you are able to make time for everyone, attend so many events and shake out runs the days prior to the marathon. thanks so much!
Your editing skills have hit elite level with your marathon pace ❤❤❤
No Kofuzi shake out run is complete without getting lost at least once. It’s just part of the experience! Awesome video as always!
I strive to deliver authentic experiences
Not only did the NYC look epic, the run up are equally up there! Totally jealous of what NYC had to offer for the entire marathon weekend!
So much to see and do!
Thanks for coming out Kofuzi! I'm so glad you finally got a chance to run (in my opinion) the greatest marathon in the world! What a compelling summary of one of the biggest weekends in the sport! Thanks for bringing us along, Ko!

Love these runners weekend’s, it’s so great to see all the cool stuff going on around the race. Gotta get over there someday!
Great racer weekend recap Kofuzi. I just hope one year I'll be able to get to NYC marathon just to experience it!
Hope to see you there Thomas!
Great 4K footage. Really feel the atmosphere on my TV.🎥
love to hear that!

Love all these runner's weekend vlogs, but I think this one was the best. So many cool events!
this was such a memorable weekend

I watched the video and seemed to have flashed this weekend together! An excellent answer turned out, emotions go wild!
This videos are getting better and better every single day. Congrats again on an excellent job on bringing us along this journey Ko 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼.

Amazing video! You captured NYC and marathon weekend marvelously. It was great meeting you on Friday Ko.
Excellent video friend Kofuzi from Mallorca Island

it can certainly be overwhelming, but I think you'd have plenty of familiar faces to spend the weekend with if you came out
Next year is out with CHI now, but I’m sure I’ll be trying that GFA lottery in NY for ‘24. I’ll need to get in the queue for registration way earlier next time. Yo Kofuzi, classic vid!! You captured the race perfectly and the weekend. Also the spirit of why NYC is greatest race on earth!!
Great video on capturing the spirit and energy of the marathon weekend. Your editing skills are top notch. So nice to meet you on the shakeout run
You are not wrong about the nyc crowds. On a difficult day, they boosted my spirits every step of the way. It was a privilege to run this year.
The crowds gave so much support!
Had a nice time recollecting the race weekend watching this today, thanks as always for such incredible footage 🙌🏻💚
