    Definitely the BEST videos...
    Clear video, Good explanations with blending in the bar.. and very important filming the Kite AND the Kiter itself.
    Most other tutorial videos are too fast, no SloMo, only filming the Kiter..
    Really the best Videos :)

    Very well documented and detailed, I may have done a regular pop during my latest session thanks to this video ! It was ridiculous height about a few cm but the first time in my life with the board entirely outside of the water :-)...

    Great video! Started kiteboarding last December and started to work on jumps with in the last few months in the state of Maine. Need to dile into the pop more because some of my jumps I would get up in the air then the kite would front stall after it flew over my head, the lines would go slack and my kite would roll forward inside my lines. I had to do a self-rescue's on those occasions and fix the mess back on the beach. People say the front stall a result of not enough pop with the jump......Thanks for this great load and pop video!

    It looks a lot like a Raley?I'm new to kitesurfing but pretty good at wakeboarding...I think the board movement and the heel dig in with the feet are more or less the same compared to wakeboarding?

    My instructors told me not to pull the bar(leave it somewhere in the middle) during pop, Do you guys pull even though you still keep it around 10:30?

  • @OneLaunchKiteboarding

    nice Vid as usual. U could also talk about the timing of the bar. sheeting in when going down wind, sheeting out when edging and sheet back in to take off. people tend to forget that they also have front lines, I'll try to explain this process in a second "pop" episode on my channel. in french though, I'm a bit lazy to do it in english ;) excellent piece of work anyway ! cheers

    I have a different problem when trying to pop, instead of the kite climbing towards zenith I find it very close to the water once I finish the movement what can I do to fix that?

    Hi, what is the right timing of sheeting in and out of the bar?
    When I load I have to sheet in, when I go upwind I have to sheet out and when I jump I have to sheet in again?

    1:11 The second element: you can also stomp with your front foot for massive front rolls etc.

    "Stomp on a board, especially with back leg" - so we stomp with both, not just a back one?

    • @kitesurfcollege
      @kitesurfcollege  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Mike, yes to a certain extent. If you stomp on just the back, and don't apply front foot pressure at all during take off, then you enter into a front roll rotation. Also the more rockered the board the more front foot pressure, and the less rockered the more back foot pressure.

    What is the difference between this and hooked raley?

    • @kitesurfcollege
      @kitesurfcollege  6 років тому

      It's a good building block for the raley. For a raley, however, you make much more effort to swing your legs behind you as soon as you launch. The reason you swing your legs back on take off, is so your body naturally starts to swing forwards as you land, helping to give slack in your lines.

      Kite-Surf-College Tutorials and Tricks yeah, that's what I thought. Great channel, thanks!

    • @cichenlup
      @cichenlup 6 років тому

      If I may, I'd like to add that raley is more an horizontal pull, kite low and pop hard, so that the movement of swinging legs behind is helped by the horizontal difference of pull (i.e. your body goes, your legs stay, so you assume an horizontal stance). When the pop is intended for jumping, your body and legs move together at 45° and you remain in a vertical stance. Basically the difference might be in the position of your kite, and the stance you want to have after jumping. IMHO raley is for unhooked, really

    Whoohoo pop it away baby 🤙🏻

  • @theleviathan0
    @theleviathan0 5 років тому

    You mentioned riding downwind first, doesn't this force the kite deeper in the wind window giving you more horizontal pull? I understand riding downwind first is important when you start to unhook, but why for a hooked in load and pop? Shouldn't the goal be to keep the kite in the edge of the window for more upward pull (by maintaining upwind line tension)

    • @kitesurfcollege
      @kitesurfcollege  5 років тому

      Hello. Heading downwind a little helps build speed (not much, maybe 10 degrees downwind only - if you head too much downwind you will loose tension in the line). As well as building speed, heading downwind a little means that you are able to make a big carve upwind as you pop. This big carve helps turn your body away from the kite, and increase line tension. If you were still riding upwind before the pop, then it's very difficult to carve away from the kite. You can build speed by riding crosswind, and then pop (so you don't have to go downwind) - but you have to be able to turn more sharply for this to work.

    • @nedster63

      It's s toeside back roll not a bell air. A bel air is s heelside carve where you trip flip your edge change that sends you into the backflip.. here the rider Ollies over...pauses...then throws it. Toeside back roll.

    The German translation for "pop" is not "knallen"! In street language the german "pop" and "knallen" both are synomyms for "sexual intercourse"! You surely did not mean that but "abspringen" [verb for popping out of the water] or "Absprung" [resp. subject] ;-)
