- We're taking the ball python that we rescued on Sunday to the vet today! Hopefully everything turns out okay!

It makes me more sad that she is so calm because that means either at some point she was greatly loved and handled daily, or she is an animal that has completely given up. Both are sad.

I dont think she has given up, maybe just a very well mannered snake, and obviously there treatment is helping greatly, maybe the snake equates them with feeling better andnnot being cold outside.
I agree, the majority of ball pythons are docile even right from the wild. I only have two female morph ball pythons, both valuable but not really intending to breed them. One can become a bit nippy at times but overall, they are calm. Both of mine eat frozen thawed also so no live feeds. I have a adult female Peruvian BCC true red tail boa also but she can become nasty a bit at times.
My older brother had a ball python that he loved like a son he took tyler everywhere he went and one day he crawled into his friends car and got stuck and died because he couldn't get him out his heart was so broken.

I really think that snake understands that you are helping her. She was probably confused and distraught in the wild and now she is back in a world she understands and is probably grateful. Keep up the good work!!

Yes. This is a appropriate punishment but after the room of ticks a cold room with mittens glued on so the can’t take the ticks off

I live in Canada and adopted a boa that was dumped in a cemetery just before first snow. I just can’t believe owners of once beloved pets can do something like that.

I am absolutely terrified of snakes. That is my one fear, but for some reason I have been captivated by this snake. I have been watching her for the last couple days. That’s not how it works, also snakes are generally lethargic when they shed and/or are ill.
@@99Etien when snakes have wounds it will cause them to shed more often. It's part of the healing process and how their skin repairs itself. And lethargic or not if you're pinching and prodding at an animal they'll more than likely snap, and that's with pretty much every kind of animal. Snakes are incredibly intelligent, don't assume they can't figure out that they're being helped and not hurt.
@@erzebet6977 I rescued a black snake with a mangled back. She was so bad off no rehabs would take her in. She shed so many times in the beginning, to repair the damage, so you're absolutely right. It's two years later and now she just sheds normally and apart from a humpback, she's super healthy. Snakes really are amazing at surviving 😊

All my life I have feared/disliked snakes. But I am so invested in this little girl here. I have been in tears watching and I keep checking for updates. 🥺 I’m glad y’all found her and she can have a shot at a good life. She seems like she is so comfortable with people.

My heart hurts thinking about someone dumping this little girl, and she was doing the best she could to survive. I'm so glad she's in good hands now and on the road to recovery.
My husband and I rescue and rehab ball pythons and boas. 99% of our animals have been rescues/rehomes. It's heart breaking to see people ditching these poor babies. Ticktok doesn't deserve this at all but im happy to see that she is getting the care and love that she needs. It's also very cool to find others who are rescuing and rehabbing like we do. We look forward to more of her updates.

Ball pythons are really sweet animals, my Archimedes lays in my sleeve and stays there for warmth. She also gives me little kisses on my forehead and eyes.

Usually I feel pretty neutral about snakes, not exactly a fan but don't dislike them either, but this snake has tipped me towards "aww what a sweet cutie pie."

I’m deathly afraid of snakes. We don’t have them in Hawai’i and I’ve seen them but never touched one...but this girl stole my heart. She’s so chill and I feel so bad for her. Thank you for taking care of her!

I live in a small mountain town in Northern California and a few months ago my wife and I were notified by some friends on facebook that some people had found a ball python that was dumped in the local park! We picked him up that day and he was extremely malnourished and dehydrated and had all sorts of scars on his scales. He ended up not having any mites or parasites and he's been eating regularly and on the road to recovery in our ever growing collection of snakes!
I'm a cat person, myself. But I'm floored that you guys just went right up to her, picked her up and handled/treated her with no hesitations and she didn't complain once. I have to relocate smallish snakes to protect my chicken sometimes. They aren't quite as compliant...
I recognize that it’s sad everything that happened to the sweet girl, but I just want to say, it’s soo cute how she’s curled up in a little ball, making her easy to handle and pass around

I’m so pleased that I stumbled onto this by accident, it is very sad that she was dumped and is in such a bad condition but I’m very glad that you found her and are giving her the care that she needs to hopefully make it past this. I hate to think of what would have happened if you didn’t find her, most people would run away from her. Thank you so much for what you have done, I hope you keep her and give her the love she deserves... subscribing to keep up with her progress.
I use Frontline spray on any new snake I get, its one of my quarantine rituals. I treat once right when I get it and once a week later, or after a shed whichever comes first, even if I dont see any mites on them. I have never had an issue with it. Just make sure you use gloves you don't want it on your skin. Spray the Frontline into your gloved hand and wipe the snake with it, a little goes a long way, just keep it away from the snakes head. I will say I was suggested to remove the water dish for a couple hours after putting the spray on so it drys fully, if any of it is still wet and the snake goes in the water there is a chance of the snake ingesting it.

I had a mite problem about 8 years ago when I got my 3rd boa. I was fairly new to the hobby and didn't realize how important quarantining was. That was a nightmare! Now I have 11 boas and haven't seen a single mite in years!

Silver Sulfadiazine cream is also known as "Silvadene" in the medical field. It is most commonly prescribed for burns and certain skin infections/conditions. (P.S. I'm a nurse 👩🏼⚕️🩺💊💉🏥) You guys are doing an incredible thing for this python and for all the other animals you rescue! It's so comforting to know there are amazing people out there in the world like you guys! ❤

Thank you for the update, it’s so hard to see such a sweet tolerant baby with so much neglect due to being dumped. I am a bit surprised to see how her general body mass appears to be pretty good - other than the obvious ailments.
