I'm just thinking, when the horses stand on the mound, they're not pretending they're the king of the castle, nor hanging out there to enjoy views. To a horse herd, the best and broadest view of their farthest surroundings spells safety. It's that simple. They can ease up their natural state of hypervigilance and relax just a notch. They can exhale while they're up there, knowing that the vulnerable members of the herd are in the safest spot they can be. Even there are in fact no predators in the area, this is the horses' instinct. Not meaning to sound critical. I absolutely love, and am grateful for, your video. What you've done is inspiring, and your narrative is truly educational. I've only got two miniature horses, but have the opportunity to set up a track system, and your video is one of the best I've seen on the subject.
I’m planning to do a track for my 2 horses and a mini, 2 acres may be involved in the paradise, but I need to make a couple of changes, thanks for the tour
thank you for sharing i've been recently enthralled by track systems/free access shelters/paddock set ups lately and am having fun learning more about them as a design option
well done, something I wish I could afford to do. Totally agree, horses are over rugged, just because we might feel cold, our horses won't be cold and yes, wind and rain is the only time I'll put a rain sheet on my boy. (16.2hh Hanoverian gelding 12Yrs old and barefoot all his life)
Thank you for the lovely tour. My track is on one acre for four horses, three are minis, with the pasture in the center. In my area of the States gorse is an invasive weed so I keep it cut and out of the pasture or it would take over!
Thank you so mucb for this video. Im planning to have my horses on 2 acres land so its nice that i can visualise how that will be and also nice to get some uk references sites 😊
I’m planning my track system now. The grass is really rich, so how would I keep them leaning over the fence to nibble on the fenced off areas? What herbs do you plant in your pastures/paddocks?
Thank you for the inspiration. My own track gets bigger step by step. Can you please tell me the name of the trees/bushes you spokeabout? I understood something like goose. Sorry, I am from Germany and my English is not so good.
Hello, sorry it has taken so long for me to reply 😅 The big one is 12 x 24 the small one attached to the stables is10 x 14 and i think the new one is 12 x 12
This is Becca Lilly . I checked it out. So it’s old recycled road? I can only find examples on .uk websites. If I look in Dutch, all I get is road planning and traffic systems and stuff like that.
Sage , borage , nettles , green alkinet , raspberry leaves , willow , hawthorn , rose hips , mint , cow parsley , fat hen , camomile , plantain , birdsfoot trefoil , yarrow , red clover ( a little is good ) a mix of old fashioned meadow grasses, field mallow , self heal , salad burnet , vetch , yellow rattle & probably more
Wish I could understand what she’s talking about. She’s talking about a “horse track,” but I don’t see a horse track. A horse track is circular so they can do laps.

I can't believe that is only 2 acres! AMAZING!
I have massive Paddock Paradise envy! What a fabulous track! Thank you for the tour!
Love all the choices you offer them. Promotes their seeking behaviour.
Beautiful, ❤ from Florida
Thank you. I own land with two ladies have DIY livery and I think they need to move towards a track system.
Thanks for all the info.😊
This was such bliss to watch! I hope I can do this one day when I get my own land

Love the pigeon that walks with you, great video really informative
I’m planning on a similar trail system, this was very informative. Thank you

Me too I'm interested in which herbs they plant in they pastures/paddocks.
No rugs (blankets) Right-o!! Great PP!!!
Thats right! Only time they have needed them was for the beast from the east a few years ago ( uk storm)
Can you do a video on how to do the track surface in more detail 😁l , iv looked all over the internet for a step by step guide ,, thanks
Thanks for your comment, I will try my best to make an explanation video soon

This system is fantastic. Would I need planning permission to do this and is it fairly easy to get?
Hi, this will vary depending on where you live.
How do you clean this much space of manure??
It gets done every morning and evening as is easier than poo picking a field just a quick 10 min walk around the track and you done
Did you say the track is in a 2 acre field?, it looks very big
Hi, yes the track is on about 2 acres
What did she say about the surface of the track at the beginning? Road planings?
Yes road plannings do the best job
This is Becca Lilly . I checked it out. So it’s old recycled road? I can only find examples on .uk websites.
If I look in Dutch, all I get is road planning and traffic systems and stuff like that.
Yes it is the old road that has been removed, in the UK its quiet easy to get hold of. I will ask Lisa for you how else you can find it
This is Becca Lilly . Thanks, that would be awesome
Lisa has responded " Crushed limestone or peashingle or sand is better than road planning really or of course mud control mats that cost a fortune ! "
When you say the track is 2 Acres - is that the actual track ? How big is the land that the track goes round please ? It looks more than 2 Acres
Hello, The main track is 340metres all the way round. 7250 squ metres inside main track approx 1.8 acres
This is Becca Lilly thank you
What kind of herbs..? Parsley, basil?
