- In this making of pottery without wheel, I build a square waterfall pot.
Usually I start with the bottom on which I add the walls, here I built the pot upside down so that I could freely deform the bottom of the pot. With hindsight, this is not the best method for pottery of this size, but to be redone on smaller ones...
Actual manufacturing time: approximately 4-5 hours
Pottery in white sandstone covered with oxides, firing at 1250 C°.

it's very rare when I'm satisfied with one of my pots, I only see the flaws. I'm a perfectionist and I'm often disappointed with my work, but maybe that's what keeps me going. ;)

Bonsoir ! Votre vidéo est très intéressante mais étant débutante, j’aimerais savoir si vous avez laissé sécher un peu vos plaques d’argile avant de les manipuler ? Car si je fais la même chose que vous avec de l’argile molle, tout s’écroule 🫣 Merci à vous
pour ce pot je ne les ai pas fait sécher car je voulais pouvoir les déformer facilement par la suite. On peut voir au début que j'ai un peu de mal à les manipuler sans qu'elles s'effondrent. C'est un coup de main à prendre.
Dans cette "vieille" vidéo par exemple( ua-cam.com/video/H64eHo8fHek/v-deo.html ) je fait un pot carré avec des plaques plus sèches, la manipulation est plus aisée, tout dépend de ce vous voulez en faire.
Félicitations, très beau travail, je suis intrigué par les différents outils que vous utilisez, pourrions nous les voir de plus près ; fabrication maison peut être ?

Beaucoup de mes outils sont "fait -maison" ou des outils de base transformés. C'est très important de faire ses propres outils, parfois pour résoudre des problèmes de conception, parfois pour pouvoir faire des choses uniques (c'est pour ça que j'en glisse souvent un ou deux dans mes vidéos). Je ferai probablement une vidéo la dessus-un jour, mais il y aura toujours certains outils que vous ne verrai jamais car c'est ceux qui donne l'identité et l'originalité de certains de mes pots ;)

It's a balancing act. You have to work at the right time, when the clay has the right consistency.
I think the experience must also have something to do with it.

What is the thickness of the slabs?
Usually 8-10mm for all my pots. (±0.4 in)
