- This morning we were made aware of this footage by fans on the Official Alton Towers Resort Twitter and Facebook pages. People have suggested the video has some connection with the new ride for 2013 at Alton Towers Resort - The Smiler.

The fact that a fucking rollercoaster has lore is baffling to me but I love it.
Just wait until you hear about the lore behind Mystic Timbers at Kings Island....
At Efteling in the netherlands every ride has a lore and they made a video about every rides story
moral of the story: if a thief comes into your house start smiling right behind them and they run away.

This story has been my 2nd longest hyperfixation (FNAF being the longest) and I honestly love it. Alton Towers is amazing with its themes for all rides but the smiler especially =)

That ending is great, it was so sudden yet it wasn't a really loud and abrupt jumpscare right in your face. Just the sudden creepiness on his face and the sudden yet not so loud abrupt appearance captured the essence of scariness
exacly. horror these days concentrate too much on the elements of direct scare instead of building up the eeriness with athmosphere, which the later is way more effective if you ask me. this scare was sudden yes but we had the unease of the adepts in the yard playing kindergarden-like games and the creepy host of the house.

@@thegamingkirby8696 thats what im saying. they still built up the athmosphere with other eerie elements, the jump scare wasent as sudden as we think, we where already unsettled by the creepy welcome of the house and its host. thats why it works.

The lore is deepening.. although it's been a while since the smiler opened, im still finding clues about the lore! like how the stages of the smiler are all named child like, like the giggler or tickler. It really adds to the creepiness of the ride! hope to get my fear of roller-coasters over soon to ride this thing!

I thought I knew all the smiler lore with Smiler Shop TV and the things around X-Sector... then I found this. WOW.
Also anyone know the name of the scientist woman interviewing him? I'm making a game on Scratch about the Smiler full of lore and I wanna get her name in it somewhere.
That would be Trisha White! And I agree, all the lore surrounding the Smiler is so cool! I feel like if they connected it to the crash from 2015, it would be something along the lines of the Ministry of Joy's power over the Smiler weakening, and the powers that be who control Alton Towers (I'm thinking of the characters in the Fireworks shows here) decreasing the Smiler's marmalising effects to make the ride safer for guests, and to make the Smiler more genuine in its goal to get people to smile

I knew something was coming so I was looking away but I,looked at the wrong time
I thought this was great. OBV its not real!!!! Really made me drop a little log at the end. Thought the acting by the guy/Miles was good- a bit odd and disconnected. Fits style of the film. Girl was real enough. Think theres gonna be more. Good to see Alton Towers doing something like this.
