Honestly, Alton Towers seems like the Cedar Point of the United Kingdom. The Smiler is definitely a bucket list coaster for me, but it's hard to get to since I live in the United States. Seems like an absolutely insane ride!

I noticed this whilst I was at alton towers, and I haven't seen any videos on it or anything but, The cobra roll and batwing - from an angle - look like the smiler's logo. You know, the smiley face. Pretty cool ?
Honestly, this isn't such a silly idea. I think if they hadn't gone for the record and instead had more variety of elements it would have been a better ride. Of course, Merlin has to have that marketing gimmick.
There was a version without inversions in the game from 2013, before you purchased any inversions. It was pretty much the exact same, but it didn't go upside down.

As much as at the moment I have never rode an upside down coaster in my life and at the moment likely never will, I 100% would maybe ride this version, but if I'm honest I prefer 100% the version it is now. Especially with inversions it looks cool & epic, where's with this, just looks weird, not a fun coaster & challenging. Not a world record, so yeah I prefer it as it is and hope it never changes in layout. Maybe in theme change? But not layout as layout is ideal for those who really love thrills, but good attempt, did really well, but yeah prefer real one 100%. Cheers. 😀👍

They should have done one inversion-focussed half, one airtime-focussed half. It could have had top-gun stalls and other twisted colossus interactions. But no, they needed a record…..
I love the actual design for the smiler but if that was a thing is feel more comfortable with the amount of time I do that ride in one day at the park it can be a maximum of 4 TIMES depending on ride access queue
Yesterday, I rode it twice, once in normal queue with my dad and my brother and we got front row for the first time ever, and the second time in single rider with my brother, I got front row AGAIN and we got next to each other aswell by pure luck. I love the smiler with a passion but I hate the pinball exit of the cobra roll. There is no avoiding it and it gives me instant headaches so I don't enjoy the last tiny bit of the ride.. sad Edit: This seems much more headache inducing then just the last half of the cobra roll and corkscrews.
