It reminds me of the Castellan Robot from that one episode of Hammer and Bolter, Kill Protocol. The Robot at several times during the episode seems to ask the Techpriestess moral questions, which she rejects with machine-like logic, or cold indifference.
Because people dont notice the red flags Jax has, making their own version of him and the fact the creator confirms he DESERVES TO BE THERE which people just gloss over until this epicode shows them that he isnt missunderstood at all.
THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE is what basically sums it up for me. Jax I think unintentionally was written like the male love interest in too many people’s bad fanfics. And considering this community’s tendency to not listen to Gooseworx even though she has common sense. I think it led to these people being caught off guard and needing to throw out their fanfics because the show went a completely opposite direction
Eh, I kinda knew that he would be more of a jerk down the line, but Gummigoo did *truly* take the cake. Hopefully, he’ll be back somewhere down the line.
I feel like everything that happens in the show happens for a reason. There’s a lot going on beneath the surface so we don’t know a whole lot about Jax or much of the crew until later. Gumigoo’s death is tragic but I feel like this’ll play a big role in future episodes. If anything, I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.
5:36 to be fair my guess is he put on a happy face for Pomni aka the one person who truly cared about him. If he wasn’t ya know… 🎉 I totally bet in future episodes he’d have some of the those feelings, especially if he had witnessed Kaufmos funeral. Another reason why I really wish he wasn’t offed at the end of the ep, I really wanted to see where his character would go.
I think what Goose is doing with Jax isn't a bad writing decision because I think she has plans for him. I think people are quick to say he's badly written. The show isn't done yet
In Jax’s defense, nothing he really does matters. In his eyes the AI aren’t people (and the only proof he has that they aren’t he didn’t see), that and none of the players can die. He’s still a jerk but it’s understandable why he just… doesn’t care.
Yeah , like , the majoraty of characters in fiction would die if they suffered or passed tru the situations and injuries that Ragata , Pomny and Kinger passed , and all trhee are alive and well. The only problem is if people start getting abstracted because of his bullying.
I still like Jax, but only because im a die hard Negan fan, and i also love the violent but lovable sociopath stereotype (yes i know that looks bad, fight me!)
@@AbsloteNPCsame, I remember watching and going “oh, he is a jerk like alastor that’s why people like him” but now no one likes him when they did before. I hated him at first and grew to like him. I kind of did a community opposite. 😅
For some reason everyone ignores that it is confirmed by Gooseworks herself that Jax is just an asshole. She already teasered that he'll become worse every episode, has no heroic traits whatsoever and deserves to be trapped in the digital world the most out of all the humans trapped with him. The fanbase had too much time creating fanfictions, and now that they can see the actual canon, they hate it because it interferes with their own headcanons.
@DrakanShields i mean Ragatha got spiked through her chest and stabbed on the head and nothing happened, so throwing Pomni in between the trucks isn't that much of a deal
The Amazing Digital Circus: Successfully writes a true sociopathic monster that has no morals, and has given up on any and all goals beyond causing death and destruction. He was born withouth the capacity to feel empathy, and his situation has only allowed him to indulge into his avsolute worst aspects. Everyone else: Thats terrible writing!
You know what jax reminds me of? Handsome jack from borderlands, why? Because he isn't a normal jerk, is a dangerous jerk who fancies himself as a good guy. Jack is an absolute showoff on top of being vile and violent, he is extremely funny, because he enjoys being comedic, and has fun being the 'good guy' of the tale while acting like a monster. I'd be surprised if jax does enter the degree of vile that handsome jack displays even at his less 'deranged' (before we learned what he's been doing with another couple important characters), but as a base? Getting pretty close.
I feel like I’m one of the only people who love Jax honestly he’s a great character and most people are upset because there headcannons are incorrect Caine has also done much worse cough cough ….he killed Gummingo
I don’t think jax is going to change because a lot of the episodes are already planned and scripted. I think him getting meaner is intentional even if people hate it for some reason.
I honestly don't get the hate. The literal CREATOR of the show talked about how he was a total jerk and SAID that there was nothing heroic about him, and now people are hating him as if it was never going to be a thing before. People got mad because someone elses character wasn't how they wanted, but that just isn't how things work and people need to except that.
I don't know. I've always liked Jax, as I've always enjoyed seeing unapologetically jerkish characters. I think its fun to see them let lose on the others, and see how they bounce off the cast.
4:34 "The only time he gets genuinely angry is when short arms over here is just messing about making Pizza Tower references instead of helping" LMFAO Bro this had me DYING with laughter like I legit could not breathe u earned my sub just for that joke alone
The thing about Jax is that he's like Daffy Duck but without one KEY element. Daffy's a pompous greedy jerk but he always gets what he deserves (Pain) because more times that naught he's in the wrong. Jax is Daffy if he never suffered from his wrongful actions which makes him just not fun to watch compared to everyone else.
My best guess is that we saw Gummigoo go through several different emotions in one episode while Jax is just “chaos and being a jerk=fun for me and me alone.”
people think Jax is an NPC, idk why they think like that, cuz really Jax, in his merch art kinda feels like an NPC cuz of his poster's background but then again you people forget the fact kinger has a room for himself but doesn't sleep in and Jax doesn't probably, so Jax in the end probably has a room but doesn't sleep in but he probably sleeps somewhere else.
I like Jax even after episode two HATE ME IN THE COMMENTS I DARE U because his villain personality fits him he’s just ur classic style villain who just wants chaos we don’t get those often anymore in 2024 so it’s nice to see it
Honestly though, I feel like this is kind of overblown, he didn’t do anything mind-boggling, he just was a douche and a nuisance to his circus friends and few times. I actually really like the direction they went with him. To me, it makes sense that a human trapped in some weird digital realm for possibly years would crave any kind of new entertainment, even if it makes his friends day worse. Imagine how boring it must be I don’t justify that mindset but I feel like his behavior can be logically explained and I don’t get people who say that he’s a robot just because he wants the violence. His character isn’t flat at all imo. How can we even judge that when only two episodes released? I feel like it would be considerably more boring without Jax to boss everyone around and be his annoying little prick self.
The reason Jax doesn't appear to have any depth would probably be because he doesn't have a reason to show any. All character development would have already happened before Pomni arrived. Its just more of the same fake adventures in the fake world. Except there was a single frame of him caring about Koufmo, when they mentioned the funeral.
Caine massively dropped in my eyes because of his actions in this episode. Sure, the argument could be made that Gumigoo was artificial, so it can't be considered like actual murder, but even so, he was Caine's creation, his responsibility, yet he just wiped him from the board like it was nothing. Once an AI reaches the point where they can be believably human in thought and behaviour, how we treat them is going to need to be better 😟
Fandom's reaction when the character hinted to being an asshole turns out to be an asshole I don't know why people act surprised. This is the second episode he's not suddenly gonna show a deeper meaning for his actions. It took 4 episodes of a poorly paced show such as Hazbin to let us find out why he acts so dick-ish too. I know, he's the fan favourite, people wanna see HIS character growth but in the show we're not here for that right now. We still had to give Pomni room to breathe. People start making theories about why he acts so cynical, which haven't been proven false by the way, but when that isn't confirmed right away and nothing changes in 20 minutes it's suddenly the most hated character in the series and the series is written poorly. I love the internet. Also something that could explain his aggresive behaviour is how he was forced into the activity. He didn't want to participate in the activity of the pilot either, only joining Gangle and Kingler in order to hide from Kaufmo. He gets angry when ONE gloink hits him so his immediate decision to follow Pomni and Ragatha makes sense as an effort to avoid the gloinks. He's similar to Zooble like that, except not as obvious Here, however, Caine outright forced him to go, which might explain the aggresivity and the desire for violence and outright destroying the kingdom Caine created
I thought Jax was gonna be like Bender, a lovable jerk, but then again goose did say he'd do something unforgivable, so maybe he's just a jerk. I think people prefer Gummigoo because one he's relatable, two nicer, and three aussie

Kinda funny that the AI character is the most human one
"heh ironic"
True , JAX is will be a unredeemable villain , unlike Gummigoo.
57x MORE IMMERSIVE!

Not the first time and it won't be the last.

I hate jax
From what i understand, people considered jax the hottest in the digital circus until gummigoo appeared. Thats it really i dont have much else to say
What? Really?

Yeah, somehow a lanky purple rabbit is "hot" for them.
No judgment tho.
Oh my god 😭 a purple rabbit with yellow teeth and in pull up pants is considered hot by people, how did we come to this
