    Was really happy to find your video. I'm also from Ontario (Sudbury). I have a lot of the same plants. Great video! Love your garden!

    Hi. Enjoyed your video. I am in North Bay and I also had thick powdery mildew on my ninebark last summer.

      Hello! First time I’ve seen this on mine. Hopefully the spray helps. Any other tricks you know of?

      Thank you! I’m guessing Canada has similar climate/zones to Ireland.

      @@Wood.Gardens We have a twelve foot by eight foot glasshouse which is used to over winter some of the potted plants that we have. The other plants stay outside, we can get an artic blast the odd winter. This winter was fairly ok but spring was very wet. March was the wettest on record and April wasn't much better.

    You are so cute about your garden, I am in Thunder Bay! Yes the weather is very much changing. My cannas are out and holeee, soo cold but they are doing okay for now....every thing I grew in the house are also giving me a dirty look as to why I brought them out so soon,they will make it. AWESOME JOB!

    I live in Peterborough & ground covers are great. I got some “volunteer” creeping phlox (no clue how it got in my garden, but it’s gorgeous. I have that Snow in Summer-have had it for many years. I just grab pieces & put it in between plants & looks amazing. Same with your lemon coral sedum, grab pieces & put them elsewhere in your garden. I love it & stands out. I have a succulent garden & easy way to propagate. Nice garden!!! My goal is more of drought tolerant garden-coneflowers, black eye Susan’s, nepeta, salvia, hostas, penstemons, lupine, coral bells

      Hello and thanks for watching. I have yet to get lupine. Was thinking of it. I was also hoping that one day, I’d convert my entire front lawn to low growing sedums. Maybe one day. But my grass is so established and attached to my neighbour’s so it would be a tricky cut off. Still, brainstorming…

    Love the variety of plants you’ve put in, the garden is looking great! Do you have your Bloomerang lilac on drip irrigation, it looks fabulous! I’ve had the shrub version for at least 5 years and it has never bloomed so profusely. What is your secret to such Bloomerang success?

    • @Wood.Gardens
      @Wood.Gardens  4 місяці тому

      I’m not sure. It gets 5 hours of sun. We don’t need drip irrigation because we get a LOT of rain in the spring. Maybe that’s why 🤷🏻‍♀️
      Thanks for watching:) good luck with yours

    Beautiful garden - I also garden in zone 5 in Kawartha Lakes.................brand new (last year) garden in a new build...............My one heuchera also heaved and I believe it got nibbled on by a bunnie but it's starting to recover now, and I'm also going to pack the garden so there is less weeding...........do you know the name of the blue sedum?

    • @Wood.Gardens
      @Wood.Gardens  4 місяці тому

      Thank you:) Yes, mild winters cause the heucheras to heave I guess. The blue sedum is called Blue Spruce Stonecrop.

    Your grass is really lush. What do you do?

      Hi Lynn:) I sprinkle fertilizer pellets on in the spring and fall. I water a lot during droughts. And I dig out various weeds like chickweed, dandelions and crab grass when I see them. I do allow the clover and violets.
