- I set up a shower in my truck that I can use and when I'm done put it away pretty easily each day.

Still using this shower setup and loving it! Gives me so many possibillities when it comes to parking now I don't have to worry about if a truck stop is full. I can park wherever and know I'll be able to shower and feel fresh and clean every morning.

I've had to clean and disinfect my own shower at some of these truck stops before going in. Excellent idea you have here.
Taking a shower saves time, as well as, preparing meals inside one's truck. Time is something I always feel as if I'm short on the older I become.
Its always nice to see how creative people can be when it comes to customizing their truck. Use the space you got in the in the most efficient way possible. I have a bunch of projects in mind for my truck. Thanks for the inspirational video dude.

Thank you! Being a team driver this would definitely be more time efficient! Waiting in line at a truck stop for a literally crappy nasty shower is so GROSS!! Yes I know shower credits are earned but at what price are you actually paying for the said free shower!!??
( Their never truly properly cleaned and sanitized so you're Welcoming dangerous diseases and lord knows what else into your system)
Who has time to wait in line at a truck stop!! Not us.... I love the opportunity to be able to take a quick shower each day or while waiting at a shipper / receiver. This also helps with another aspect of driving as well... Wanting to look nice, smell fresh and look professional.
Yes I am a rookie... But I'm a firm believer in learning from the PROS... This is a PRO TIP IN MY BOOKS!!

I have a sink in my truck. In the future I'll make a video about the sink. With covid-19 it is really nice having a sink in the truck.

I got everything between Walmart, Home Depot and Cabellas. Pretty easy to put together.
Don't know how old you are but if you've seen karate kid you could use that round bar and curtain set up he wears for a costume haha. Seriously though a hula hoop would even work and you could single point hang it from the ceiling like a chandelier.
You've got the basics now time to take it next level and improve. The shower pan would be better. You could also use a custom made water heater overflow pan and specify what size drain bung you need. They make galvanized ones here in Houston for like $100. Could get it 3x3x6" tall.... you got my home builder brain going
I looked into both of those options you mention and my main goal was have something I could easily setup and take down. Wasn't ready for something permanent. The custom made water heater overflow plan was something I was looking at when I wanted to design this but most drain was sitting to high and I didn't feel like standing in a couple of inches of water while I showered.
I'm thinking about doing a similar setup. Normally I'd rely on truckstop showers but I've started working out.. it's not ideal to want to workout but you're shutdown at a rest area... this solves the issue. Btw, if you buy one of those big buckets, the one with ropes on the end, you'll solve your splashing situation. I think I'm gonna get a 13 gallon big kahuna shower system soon.

You might consider using two shower curtains one on each side and have them over lap which gives more room for the shower area if needed. Also there are the fabric type of shower curtains which are found in some hotels which might be an option for some. Using a taller container might be useful for some people to keep the area dry. This is a great solution to have available when on the road working, traveling or boondocking. Thanks for sharing your setup.
Actually, my setup has 2 curtains and they were cloth. I used the shallower container for ease of putting it away under the bunk in the truck. I never had an issue in keeping the area dry between the curtains and the container. Only time I had an issue was when I didn't close the curtains all the way.
I just ordered the "Base Camp Boss-xcw20 Battery Operated Shower System" from Cabela's for ($349+ Tax) but you can also order it from "Explosive Power Sports" goo.gl/hoMwxz for ($276.70 +Tax) as of this posting. Of course, since I'm not familiar with EPS, I paid the extra money and am getting it from Cabela's... a company which I know and trust. Cabela's is drop shipping the Shower System to my house... sent from the manufacturer, Mr. Heater. On the Mr. Heater website they want $547.00 +Tax for the exact same shower system. RedOctober31983 has a great setup.. which I'm copying. Like Ross Perot said back in '92... "Why reinvent the wheel. Find someone that is successful (doing it right) and just copy them".
Your bunk heater is already plumbed up with heater hose/anti-freeze/coolant from your engine which is most likely running at 180 degrees plus, I'd be looking at running a coil of hose around a water tank and scrap the propane set-up

Nice setup..is that just any ordinary shower curtain? This is perfect ..most truck stop showers are nasty..
Try doing that in a 63 inc sleeper no room at all. But i have planes on gutting the sleeper. And redo to designs.
why not get a couple tarps, fasten them to the back of the sleeper and to the trailer if possible, lay something over the catwalk so you don't hurt your feet and set up your shower head to the back of the sleeper?

I know this is from 7 years ago lol But are you still trucking? Any updates youve made to your shower if so? This is what id love to do especially if they have an electric water heater. Not only because of how dirty truck stop showers can be, but also, you arent always doing a 34 reset in a place where showers are in existence lol Also, love the portable washing machine, will be picking one of those up soon

Apparently we all have to do what we have to do in order to stay clean on the road and what I do I use a hot water pot that I got from Walmart and I have a tub that I used to pour the hot water in so I can wash up and of course I carry plenty of big towels and hand towels so I can stay clean, I believe that hot water pot cost me about $20 it's been a few months and I forgot how much it actually cost but you can find it where they keep the coffee pots at.
What kind of tub do you use? Also do you do thinks inside the truck or bathe outside the truck. How do you drain the water if you are bathing inside? Or bc you are not using a ton of water you can lift up your plastic 'tub' and pour the water out?
This person is most likely using a large salad bowl ( not even a gallon of water) and taking a sponge bath; taking a rag, dipping it in hot and slightly soapy water, scrubbing, rinsing rag... and repeating until clean. Then toss the water. Cheap, easy, clean( helps ya sleep at night)

So you have it set up as a recirculating shower?
No. It drains out to the ground below the truck. If I want to warm the water up a bit more I'll recirculate the water back into the water tank before I use to shower.
WOULD A PORTABLE FOLDING SHOWER FIT ? I KNOW THE ONE IM LOOKING AT ON AMAZON IS 47inch x 47inch ON THE BASE . WONDERING IF THERES ENOUGH FLOOR SPACE.

Iam building a shower on top of my catwalk with shower curtains running from my tractor to trailer on both sides it will be bigger then a truck stop shower. I will post a video .

@@aaroncwelch well in my video, I explain that iam not a winter driver i make enough to park my truck but with my stack and the truck running and my Hot water and curtains it will be pretty warm in there i guess I could install a steam shower next and make a video on my catwalk steam shower lol. With a bench I use my shower so much and it is awesome for me but my hygiene is 100% so speaking for me I would suffer a little cold air with hot water to sleep with no cheese down there lol check out my vid

Are you new generation of wheel holders just to lazy to go to the all the hit water you need tru k stop showers. Am I missing something. If you want a shower in a truck then buy you a truck with a 100" + sleeper. I certainly wouldn't make more of a mess than actually getting clean yourself. Wait after your shower you have to clean the water up in your truck. Then your ads is dirty again.
Why not just shower in the back of the truck between the trailer and back end of the truck yiu could probably hook up a water heater and 100 gallons water reserves

Is that safe to use in that small of space?
You should use caution any time you are burning a liquid fuel. To help make sure I was safe I used a CO sensor in the cab. Plus the truck is vented to the outside along the back wall so fresh air was coming in. The cab of the truck is not a closed air tight space. Again, use caution when burning anything inside a closed space.
I been looking at getting one I’m glad I seen your review! Driving reefer long wait times in docks it’s hard to get to truck stops sometimes....for now I been using a electric pump but it’s cold water!

Is the hot water heater gas or electric or both if it is gas how do you vent out the gas while it's working thanks
The hot water heater is propane. It uses the little green propane tanks you would use for camping. I don't have a vent, the space and amount of time I use in the truck I'm not to worried about it. I do have a carbon monoxide sensor in the truck and the heater has a low oxygen shutoff as well.

Most places local doesn't pay enough(or even have that many local options), I have had three local jobs, and they all pay SHIT.....I am literally thinking of going OTR/regional again just to get ahead again, but two years local has been a struggle financially. The fact that they got the nerve to pay people mileage pay local should tell you everything.
Would never tell anyone how to do anything. But have to ask why not just go in and take a shower at the truck stops or a hotel this seems a bit much.
Really simple. First, have you ever seen how clean the showers are in the truck stop? have you ever watched them actually "Clean" the shower between drivers? If you had you wouldn't be asking this question.
Second, this was for the times where I was stuck at a customer over night. I shower every day period! I did not become a truck driver to give away my dignity like a lot of drivers seem to have. We are PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS! Not slobs. Why should I be expected to have to wait until I come across a shower to clean myself up?
Third, it's way faster to do this then the get up, get dressed, pack my bag, walk inside, get in line for the shower, wait for a "Clean" shower to be ready, unpack my bag, get undressed, take the shower, put the clean clothes on, repack my back, walk back to the truck, unpack the dirty and wet stuff from my bag and then go. Where as with the shower in my truck, it's get up, take my pj's off, shower, put clean clothes on and go.

Obviously you don't pay attention to how dirty they are. Can't tell you how many times I've gone into a "clean" shower and it still has pee stains and crap in or on the toilet, sink still has toothpaste spit on it, and the shower has hair all over it. Plus, there are many times where I don't spend the night at a truck stop and being able to shower and feel fresh when I start my day is important to me.
This is not original. Another trucker did this a year or so ago. Give credit where it's due!
Interesting seeing as how I created this setup almost 2 years ago now. Glad you think someone else deserves credit for me showing what I came up with and put together myself. I spent hours researching options out there. Not once did I find another setup like this. The closest thing I found was someone heating up hot water in a tea kettle and then using a hand pump style used to spray for insects or a batter operated spray nozzle. If it doesn't work for you, then move on and find something that does.
