I can't thank you enough for posting this video. I couldn't have installed my meathooks without this video.
I changed my ape handlebar myself after watching this video! Great instructional video!
This is a very detailed and well planned out video, thank you.
The handlebars I am using are the HCC 16" narrow 1 1/4" Ape Hangers. I chose them (after researching many different brands) because the wrist and arm position is perfect. Hill Country clearly considered hand and wrist position angles when they made their bars.
MAN YOU ARE A TOTAL LEGEND.
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE VIDEO RIGHT NOW.
I WISH YOU WERE MY DAD...
ILL POST A PIC OF THE BREAKOUT ONCE ITS DONE...
Thank you! Pulled off my bars with ease! Great video!
That video is so relaxing I took a nap and woke up when you we’re done!i guess I watch it again later!😂
Another great video by Hill Country. Thanks guys!
great information step-by-step instructions to the T thank you.
Outstanding video!
Thank you so much for your video's. You gave me the Courage to change my bars, levers, cables, wires &grips.i start tomorrow wish me luck
How did it go?
Hey, great videos. I'm installing 12" apes on my '17 Breakout. Do I need to replace the lower brake line as well? Thanks
Great video!! could y'all please do a handle bar change on an 18 heritage classic?
Sir bless you and this video!
Another great video! Did you have to extend wire harness on turn signals to set them up on new bars. Thanks
This video saved my life 😂
Awesome video 👍, can you do one for Sportster??
love how he explain the process properly, solid vid bro!
Wow, a lot of work! Thank you!
Beautiful bike mate
Very well done
very good job men!
Awesome video. My big question, is the process the same for a 2015 breakout?
Good day great video thanks. i have one question about the throttle by cable and the connectors on a 2013 FLHX and z bar style 15inch apes does one have to eliminate the connectors to go around the first 90
Clutch cable to Transmission @11:53.
This motorcycle is the Sport Glide, it is a Softail, but on my 2018 Heritage Classic the exhaust is directly and completely over the cover, a new style two part cable would be alot easier.
This will be useful very soon. Thanks
I have a 2017 softail.
I’m using 14” tall bars. How long would I need the upper brake line to be?
I just got your complete kit, pre-wired, etc. How different is this video from the 2008 Softail Deluxe FLSTN?
Great video! Question -why did you have to install new clutch cable all the way back by the exhaust. I always thought on newer bikes the HD quick release was there to make it easier. So you didn’t have to take the bolts off of that compartment take the balls out etc. just curious
Never seen that. Maybe it is like that with the hydraulic clutches.
I was thinking the same thing. I have a 2019 sport glide and I'm about to install some bars and everything I've read so far says you just need to fellas the upper clutch line. no need to mess with the lower
Great video mate. I just wish that you showed how you removed and replaced the wiring in the bars.
perfection
Cold video but why covering the tank if you will planning to remove the tank anyway?
Hi. I am in the process of installing new bars and your video has been immediately helpful. What type of grease do I use to hold the ball bearings in place? Thank you!
Any grease will work
Hello, I have a street bob 2020, and I would like bars exactly like these, which one would you suggest on your website please.
Why you fixed not the handelbar with the Riser?
I saw the handlebar size video and you said you put 3 inch risers on this sportglide. Do they have to be 3 inch risers?!
Awesome vid! Wondering how much of a difference would be for my 18 road king special?
+levi norman we have done several pre-wired bars for the Road King Special since it came out. Cool looking bike. It takes a special wiring harness since the turn signals are mounted on the hand controls. 16” Hell Bent in gloss black seems to be the most popular bar for some reason. If you tell me your height, I can make a size recommendation for you
@@HillCountryCustomCycles 5'11"
+levi norman I’m 5’ 11” and 16’s are perfect on a Road King
That was an awesome video. Does this work for the new heritage classics as well?
+D J sure does. Thanks for watching
+D J Sure does. Thanks for watching
Is flipping your Mirrors with apes better? Or is it all looks?
Great vid. I was wondering if you could help me with something. I unplugged all the cables like in the vid. In the end I took my bike to a shop and they’re worried about plugging it all in again due to some of the plugs being pretty much the same. Have you got some kind of diagram that shows what plugs go into which terminals/sockets ? Would be a massive help. Thank you
Rob Pullen the only 2 that are the same are the blinkers I’d be questioning this bike shops ability if they can’t figure that out
Colin Elwin yeah thanks man for that. It was all done a while ago as you probably guessed. The issue was that the guys in the garage were completely old school and didn’t like working on a newer bike. He blatantly told me he hated my Harley and I know that sounds harsh but it was all in good banter. Anyway. It’s all sorted now so happy days. !! Thanks mate
Why swap the two piece cable from Harley ? Is this a preference?
Can you tell me who makes that fairing??? Have been looking for something like that for years
Лучший!!!! Спасибо
How much, if any, would this handle bars and install would be for a 2018 Fatboy?
Did you bleed the brake?? Because with ABS brakes can't have no air in the line. So what exactly did you do for the line???
HD dealer want's 6-8 hours of labor @ $149 per hour to install bars. This video covers almost everything but I did not see where the Throttle By Wire right hand grip was removed and installed into the new bars.
Do you sell and ship handle bar kits to Hawaii?
You guys should do a road king ? Or would it be the same thing ?
+Marcos Mendez
No, definitely not the same thing. But you are correct, we should do a Road King. However, we just haven’t found the right one just yet. Soon to come. Thanks for watching.
So why did you replace the m8 clutch cable for a crappie cable
Do you have a handle bar kit like in this video for a 2019 Deluxe?
+Half Dog sure do. Give us a call, or email customercare@hillcountrycustomcycles.com
So what was the overall length the clutch cab
How much different is it on a ‘99 softail?
Lmaoooo! My balls fell out! This video is awsome! I'm thinking about adding some apes to my 2008 Harley Fatboy! I just registered to this website!
What kinda bags are those
Master cylinder went into Crown Royal bag?
Great video. What is the name and brand of the front fairing?
Felix Padilla I could be wrong, but I think that it is the stock fairing on the Softail Sport Glide, which I think is the bike he’s working on
It is part of the bike. harley Davidson Sport Glide Great bike! Ride safe
What fairing is on the bike?
What model is this ? Becuae the heritage has a split in the cable so the whole thing shouldn’t have to come out
It’s a sport glide
Are u just replacing the breakline from the controls to the abs module
+Oliver Stapf yes, that’s all
When replacing the brake line, don't you have to drain the brake fluid and fill it back up?
+P. Amini Yes, but you are filling it up with the brake bleeding tool
My softail has cable clutch do I drain the fluid from the primary?
+DBZACTION FIGURESREVIEWS No, only the transmission
Hill Country as in Texas?
nevermind I saw the 512 area code....lol
I did the exact method to fill my front brake lines and I have 0 pressure in my brakes now 😂
So, I notice in the video the bars are wired off camera. A few pointers from anybody on getting all those friggin connections through the bars.
How do i find out the right height bars for me ??
+Jeremy Robinson Watch my other video on how to choose the proper bar height
Should always start bolts by hand before using an impact. Them risers just got cross threaded and destroyed for the next guy. 10:00
Where can I find that fairing?
It is a stock one from the sportglide, the one you can remove and setup in twenty seconds. Unfortunately I don't think HD sells those separately.
hello or I find this handlebars with connectors for a fat boy 107 of 2018 thank you
Glad to see you greased your balls! LOL
12:06 did you fill up with new oil just to drain it for the vid? 😂🤭🤫😎
OK,How much please?And where are u located?
+steve imperial AUSTIN, TX
give me a call Monday, 512-264-7333
And I thought you can replace only the upper part of the clutch cable on 2018 models. Or am I wrong? :)
the longest upper cable Harley make for the 2018-up only go up to 12inch bars (plus 4.5inch for the risers)
+Julian Johnstone Yes, that is true. That is why our kits come with a complete clutch cable. That way you can go with bars taller than 12” if you want
Cool. a Mexican harley
Brisket
yeah iys our prewire kit that 1600 wtf man independent small shops will install 07 not only 2015 for 900 you guys are way to expensive
Save time? I've been doing this work for a month already! First i couldn't run wires through a sharp angle on the handelbar, then i bought handelbars with rubber caps on the sides where i could hardly run wires, then the main problem is the stock handelbar has 1.25 inch clamp width, but 99% percent of all ape hangers have 1 inch clamp base, then it was hard to find 1 inch mount, when i found it eventually I found out that it doesn't have thread for my original bolts and i need different bolts with nuts which now i can't find anywhere, what a pain in the ass, i don't understand how almost everybody has those ape hangers installed if there are no proper parts 😢
