I agree, it’s an underserved market compared to your Honda civics or whathaveyou. There are a few other manufacturers that fit the same bolt pattern that have a bit more depth/detail that make it look less trailer like. Personally I like the trailer light look but to each their own
I see you are a masochist as well! Can you emplain to me why I have one too? What was I thinking? Im always fixing things on my heap (thats a good nake. Heep Cherokee)
Tip.. Usually the hazard operates your brake lights, so if you turn on the hazards you kind of have something "pressing the brake pedal' for you over and over while you are at the back of the vehicle probing wires :-) Of course, once you find that brake light wire you should confirm with the actual brake switch/pedal. This trick also works for trailer light testing.
Possibly, if not probably. Those are the bolts that came with the JCR taillight kit but the lights were ordered from a third party (the recommended third party)
Youve owned an XJ for 4 years? You are either very rich, like Bezos levels, or a masochist. I owned mine for 3 months, and I have never done more to a running vehicle. I just shattered the tail light housing, trying to pray the nut plate (which of course, popped inside the body), and everything went...boom. Giant shard of red tail light, meet my artery...in 7 places! So, Im already broke because was doing TPS, TCU and the blower switch, but now, looking at more money spent! Tail lights, somehow either finding the stock nut, or fabbing something. Either way, gotta rip those inner panels out like you did. I dont know why I do this either....I still have a giant screw in my tire. Knock on wood...its not leaking much for now.
I don’t have the time to do it but UA-cam recently added a good captioning system. I’d my videos ever get popular I would certainly spend the time to input captions so it could be more easily viewed in other languages!!
Junction... Not juncture.... Good stuff.
I appreciate the correction!
Those are some cool looking lights!
They’ve held* up quite well!
Wish we had more options for early XJ rear lights, BAZ lights are nearly unobtainable and these look too much like trailer lights

They literally are trailer lights

Thank you!! I’ll try to keep em coming

U get the lights in amazo n
Not these exact models but similar models and a lot of different options are available on Amazon!
Those lights are designed to be attached with rivets not nuts and bolts. thats why the nut didnt fit. Nice video .

@@SomeGuyOutside Run what you brung. Im not sure how popular rivet tools are these days. Do you still like those tail lights?

What was your total cost???... For boxes and lights and hardware
I want to say the boxes were the most expensive part about 150-200 bucks I think
It will be more better if it will have a back blinker
Can you give the name and part number of that converter box again? Thanks
Tekonsha part 119130 on Amazon! One works fine in my opinion but some prefer two so you don’t have to run them across the floorboard.
Fuck the haters bro it looks great ill be buying myself the same setup
Amen bruther, I definitely appreciate actually having backup lights that actually illuminate the area behind me now 😂
