    Awesome. Reminds me of when I did the coilovers on my Focus ST. I did end links and rear camber and toe arms at the same time. I love having the adjustability.

    Hey Jay! How about the Part 2? Or even just a "Ride Along" and let us know about how you feel after changing the brake lines, new clutch, suspension, etc, basically how the whole car feels as a package to you know vs. when you bought it?

    Sweet suspension kit. After watching this it made me realize what a pain coil springs are to work with..... I just installed new leaf springs on my 88 Wrangler, but it also doesn't have all the "Fancy" ABS, Traction control and stuff like that. Nice and simple, all mechanical no electronic engine control.....and My favorite part is it has no "check engine" light lol

    Im enjoying these videos as someone who is equally into tech as I am cars its nice to see a youtuber do both. I didn't care for the 350z (I think they look too bubbly like a VW beetle) but that 370 looks sharp.

    Before people ask why the bumper is a different shade to the fender. It is due to a ruberizing(yeah) of the paint. The product that painters use to make the paint more flexible is lite in color.

    • @G_de_Coligny
      @G_de_Coligny 8 років тому

      A problem fixed by Audi 10-15 years ago. Before they were a different shade because of the flex addon especially the black bottom part (unpainted until the 2000' . Now everything is smooth. Nissan paint selection always appears to be whatever color was available bulk for cheap in china at the time of build. When it's not downright looking like a mix of different random buckets lying on the paintshop floor.

    If you want to know bad torques. My 928 has rear bolts that hold the half shafts in the rear hubs. They are factory torqued to 300ft lbs.
    Usually it is much more than that and even with a literal 6 foot breaker bar they don't break loose. They are so much fun to deal with...

    just a little tip on torque when ever you torque a bolt say to 200 ft.lbs... that is usually break point on a bolt in other words its a replace on break. also if its 200 ft.lbs then it can take up words of 400 ft.lbs to break(remove) that bolt.

    With regard to the installation of the proposed coilovers to the rear suspension, I would offer some caution here. This monocoque design was surely never designed to support the dynamic weight of the car at the existing rear shock absorber mounting point without significant technical reinforcement. I suspect that the overall purpose of fitting these coilovers all around is for appearances rather than any imagines performance enhancement given that the Nismo can pull almost 1g in cornering while in standard form. Incidentally, lowering the car may not be a good idea since the previous owner experienced problems and damaged the front under-tray.

    Kool little vid ! The COIL OVER shock is used widely through the racing field . We have the gas form on nearly ALL our race cars now . I tend to NOT like them due to under a severe load they tend to BLOW out ! However they due have a TRUER ride height control ! Where as to the SELF adjust models have a tendency to have an area where they will get stuck on the Threads on return bounce , Hence the NEED for an Inner LOCK as well as the OUTER lock . Controls how much the wheel will actualy bounce UPward , I forget the term i am speaking of because i am half asleep typing this ! Where is my COFFEE ? Oh there it is . need sum sugar . oh i`m still typing this ? SEE YA !!!!

    Jay... Honestly I don't see the difference between PC building and Car building... They're the same! Here you build your PC with components and upgrade your PC over time just like you do with a car the only real difference is that car costs a lot more but down to the fun part... They're the same i love both. There's no better feel when you install motherboard CPU GPU PSU HDD etc... and finally you close the case and you fire it up to see it's booting up same as the car when you redo engine with forged pistons add a turbo and custom manifold etc... And then you fire it up and it just starts.

    Once you get done with your suspension, you should put it on a corner weight scale to dial the car in for the twisties. Are you planning on realigning your car. Im curious as to how much camber was moved with lowering the car down like that. It really doesn't look like to much if any at all.

      Barack Smith the suspension that they used to do jumps was "cut to a different shot as the car is landing". The General Lee, or more accurately, whichever general lee they happened to be filming with for that particular shot, fell apart every time they jumped it.

    Saw your intake pipe and I've had to go a similar route (aluminium pipe bent to suit) but I'm wrapping it in DEI Reflect-A-Gold. Don't know if you've looked into it but it does help lower IATs especially since the aluminium pipe heats up quick next to the engine.

    What's up with Z's and their insanely difficult to remove bolts lol. I did test pipes on my buddies 350z and laughed at the so called demon bolt right up until the point my extension started bending on me. I was using a 3 foot 3/8 drive extension and a breaker bar and that thing wouldn't budge. I had to go up to a 1/2 inch drive with an even beefier breaker bar and a crazy extension setup to get that thing loose. Nissan does not mess around with that stuff that's for sure.
