I had a friend who lived on my couch rent free because he lost his job and his place to live. I made Mac n cheese with hot dogs. He turned his nose up and said it was poor people food. I’m like you’re homeless, jobless, and living on my couch.
Apparently beggars can be choosers hahaha
Lol. Without you he'd be on the street digging for the remains of some thrown out mac and cheese from a garbage can.
Who in their sound mind rejects Mac and cheese with hot dogs 😭 the audacity
"that's poor people food" yea ...and you're poor!
r/choosingbeggars
He eats a lot of mac and cheese but he seems like one of the most normal people I have ever seen on this show
But at the same time looks like the exact picture of a discord/reddit moderator. Clearly acts like one too.
Looks unhealthy and greasy. He literally just talked about his unsavory childhood. He has a food addiction and needs help. He's going to get heart disease , high cholesterol and high blood pressure by 40
Yeah but he looks like a corpse that was fished out of a river
@@BeckBeckGo yes
Mac & Cheese is wholesome and good for the soul that's why.
This guy is actually really down to earth and a good dude. I truly hope he overcomes his eating disorder.
It was faked lmfao. I'm from keystone.
If you believe this you need the room next to him in the asylum. Freeloader getting booted from his parents immediately went to his grandparents to freeload. If that’s “learning peace”, you should be shut down. Learning peace isn’t exploiting people for personal gain.
Being honest though, that velvetta shells and cheese is made delicious… but after maybe eating it by day 3, I’d be out. The key to eating what you enjoy is moderation. There is only very little things you can eat everyday same exact thing and still be happy about eating it:Pizza and ice cream. The only two things
Edit: oh almost forgot bacon. You can eat bacon everyday
He seems really nice , I feel bad because you can tell he’s malnourished, I hope he’s doing better now and has gotten help with his eating disorder
Did you know that that box of velvetta man and cheese has a recipe on the back where they show you broccoli mixed with the mac and cheese. It’s delicious. You can add whatever to this and (within limits if it’s a good quality) it can be good. I had an aunt from my bfs side who made the worst low quality Mac and cheese and the worst quality cheap costing hot dogs that made you so sick. You can do that with like velvetta and Hebrew national hotdogs. Maybe even add some hamburger meat, bacon, sausage, have a meaty macaroni and cheese with velvetta. People got some good recipes with some few ingredients. But don’t listen to me. I was a raised in a barn under a rock. Being a poor 18year old who’s bf left her for some hangout and we had no groceries since was had a lot of bills and we just went to this pizza place below us for food… his friend and his gf came over and made me a breadcrumb omelet which I was hungry so I ate it
I don’t like to body shame people, but my first thought was he looks pregnant.
As a lactose intolerant person, I fully understand his commitment because Mac n cheese is my favorite food and their aren’t many good dairy free options that taste good. I’d take full advantage too. Lmao
I read your name wrong the first time had velveeta cheese on my mind for some reason
My girlfriend lost her feet in an accident, I soon found myself breaking up with her, turns out I was lacktoes intolerant.
My daughter loves Mac and cheese but i hate it lol i be in the kitchen whipping it up for my baby lol
Same boat here. I don’t even do dairy free I just deal with the consequences. I’ve built up more of a tolerance over the years I think.
Same :/ it really sucks a lot. If it was just mild I would deal with it for some pizza and Mac and cheese
This man probably hasn't had a comfortable bowel movement in 17 years either.
I thought the same thing too. lol
Yes! He probably is constipated all the time!!! 😣 Poor guy doesn’t eat fruit or anything with fiber.
if he even has bowel movements.
probably uses Miralax to get through the day!
Unless he’s lactose lmao 🤣
As a psychologist I feel like this is a great example of how people get addicted to something, most of the times people feel like they don’t have control over their life’s and when you find something that you feel like it’s truly yours and no one can “control” that besides yourself, it makes you feel safe, in “control”, even if it’s not…
Well I mean he's been eating only Mac since 3
As someone who genuinely loves vegetables I get so sad when Ken says no one like vegetables or gets excited about them. Sometimes I will eat just a bowl of broccoli, an artichoke, or a bag of edemame for dinner and it makes me so happy. Hahaha
Broccoli is so underrated tbh
@@noconsequence4486 Broccoli is so good! Also a great way to curve chocolate cravings! Science 🧑🔬
I like steamed broccoli but it’s gotta have absolutely zero crunch to it.
They are not good for you but do you
Normally I’d never accuse you guys for cheesy content but for today I’m afraid I have to make an exception
im not normal
Ba Boom Ching!
😂
💯
Lol
This was the first one that actually kinda felt sincere and real to me.. He explained where the urge came from, he's not in denial about it, actually admits to it being odd/unusual and not sugar coating it and even though he's getting sick of it the urge to eat it is still stronger.
But hes never ever even SEEN a vegetable cooked or prepared? Plus his timeline doesnt add up at all, thats fishy
@@TheElusiveReality He said over the past 17 years he's eaten ALMOST nothing but M&C so I assume when he was younger he did eat other things but like he mentioned always wanted M&C to the point of getting beaten. Again assuming from his backstory he probably started feeding himself from a young age and, depending on when he moved in with his grandparents, was already "dependant" on it when he did move in. They don't seem to really go against it, which I don't blame them cause they're old and have most likely tried in the past.
I know 2 people that never ate eggplant, and a lot more, till they were 23 and 26. It's baffling! They grew up on only canned veggies so that's all they knew.
@@whoisjoeyy eggplant? I've never eaten one of those to this day and I'm over 40. It isn't a popular vegetable in general
@@drakemallard1486 atm 25 and I think I ate it once or twice definitely not a popular vegetable, used to hate eating vegetables but learned to like and appreciate it when I got older ^^
@@TheElusiveReality I know the guy, we went to highschool together. He's legit
Edit: also saying hes never even seen one is a clear use of hyperbole
At one point I lived in the town where this guy was from and some people on a local Facebook group backed up what he was saying in the video, so according to them it is all true. I have sympathy for the guy since it's an avoidant disorder and he's trying to get help for it to get better.
He said Keystone Heights, FL right?
I actually have this disorder too. It’s absolutely horrible to deal with. I can’t eat any foods without gagging on them for many reasons, most of it being texture related. It can also be trauma related. For instance I can never eat spaghetti because when I gagged on the texture one time I threw it up and my dad shoved the food back in my throat and held my chin up even though I was gagging until I forced myself to swallow it because he thought I was acting immature and just being ungrateful. Him doing this only made it worse for me to eat anything so when I did find safe foods to eat I cling onto them because for once i could eat it without gagging or avoiding the food. My safe foods are also specific like I can’t just eat any pizza I have to have little Caesar’s or I can’t just have Doritos I have to have nacho cheese. Now this disorder can affect people very differently but this is my experience with it.
I'm sorry this happened to you. I went through something similar when I was a kid, when a family member kept trying to shove a deviled egg in my mouth as I was gagging and crying because I really didn't like them (still don't). Said I only ate junk and needed to "eat some real food for once." Which is just ridiculous, because deviled eggs aren't even that healthy. I still have trouble eating them and hard boiled eggs in general.
Conditioned responses suck, I uses to like fish as a kid, then my mom cooked some one time that was just... bad. And my father did that whole, "YoU cAn'T lEaVe ThE tAbLe UnTiL yOu FiNiSh YoUr FoOd!" and then got angrier when he decided I wasn't eating fast enough.
So I tried to force it down, threw up, and I haven't been able to eat ANY fish since then
I have a lot of texture issues, so I get it. I am working hard on expanding my food acceptance. But between an ever expanfing list of foods i react allergically to its not that easy
That is so traumatizing omg I am so sorry that your father did that to you. Parents really don’t realize how much the shit they do to us stay with us and affect us.
So I have the same disorder as this guy, and I will clarify that most people with this disorder (ARFID) do eat more than one or two things. I probably eat around twenty things. People that can only eat one or two foods are the extreme instances where they never sought help and never tried exposure therapy, which absolutely sucks but it necessary. Honestly I think that if this guy saw a specialist he’d be able to incorporate even just a few more foods
👏👏👏
I have ARFID but unfortunately I'm on the extremeish end of it, I eat around 6 things. Though I'm trying to incorporate new foods, it's like fighting your nerves and anxiety and trying to tell them to gtfo. My dad always gets frustrated and pissed off with me, even though he knows I have this, when I try a new food and dislike it or retch. I've never managed to make him happy or even relatively proud of me trying new food... 😶
@@Blan-Kitt I'm sorry your family isn't more supportive, that really sucks. Especially since encouragement and praise after trying a new food, even if you didn't like it, will make it more likely for you to push yourself to do it again.
Do you mind me asking what you mostly eat? Just curious
I have it too!
!! i can only eat a couple!! thanks for this.
He’s 20 years old and has been eating almost nothing but Mac and cheese consistently for 17 years…I feel like it’s justified to blame the guardians of this dude as well
@Olive yeaaah I commented this before seeing that part 😅
He was definitely abused far more than just getting a head slam
💯
1000000%
@@olive6290 Imagine during your developmental years (even if it's later on, like teenage years), your head gets slammed down onto the furniture by the same hands that snapped your skateboard in half. I'm surprised the man's able to form words, no wonder he just sees everything in shades of mac & cheese.
Honestly, I seen a nutrionist for an eating disorder I've had for over 15 years. I get why he eats what he eats. I got so scared of food I was only able to drink chicken broth for like 6 weeks. Then got really sick and had to get actual help. But that after over 15 years with an ED. I hope he got better. Trauma and eating disorders are a hell of a beast to get past.
I love how between fruit and veggies he seems more willing to try veggies the first 2 vegetables he is curious about are celery and eggplant… That’s like trying meat and starting with lamb. 🤦🏼♀️
The poor guy looks like his diet is affecting his physical health, he's got dull hair and skin. I hope he's getting better nutrition these days and has made progress in overcoming his disorder.
It DEFINITELY is. Dude is gonna end up with coronary heart disease and have a heart attack soon rather than later.
yeah, I thought he is much older than 20 y.o. :(
Don't know about the health of that dude. But I too suffer from ARFID, and I'm completely healthy. I have a yearly doctors appointment to do a check up and it's always fine. The last time I caught a cold was when I was still in middle school.
What many people don't think about is, that people that suffer from ARFID, also avoid many toxins and bad ingredients in many foods, that "normal" eaters take to them.
I only eat pasta, rice and cooked potatoes.
So don't juge try to find parallels between looks and healthy, because those things don't necessarily go hand in hand :)
His hands 😳
He just had blood work done, he’s lost a lot of weight. Doctors told him he was “the picture perfect image of healthy as of right now”.
3:22 That pan has been seasoned by all the times he’s made Mac & Cheese with it. That’s why the other pans make it taste differently.
Also possibly because he's so used to the mac n cheese taste, that even a slight variation is noticeable. I used to eat ketchup with almost everything, so much so that at one point I could tell if ketchup was expired or wrong by the taste (it had kind of a gross metallic flavor/aftertaste), even though everyone else in my family said that it tasted fine. But I agree that what you said about the pan could definitely play a part.
"Itta Pupu" is absolutely a Game Grumps reference! "Hey Billy, what was your favorite CTK episode?" "I like the one where they talk about the guy who ate macaroni for a loooooong time!"
Isn't that from that African pastor interview who hates gays? 😂
He seems like a decent guy, hope he gets the help he needs. Sounds like he's had a rough time to only eat Mac and cheese from as young as 3 years old.
ken and buff: "Nobody gets excited about vegetables!"
me who loves vegetables: :(
Right?! My kids and I eat raw veggies as a snack all the time. 💜
Me who just ate a whole tomato as a delicious little snack: :(
@@littlebeanredhead That is a very delicious snack, Ken and Buff just don't know what they are missing.
Was about to comment something similar lol. Don’t like all vegetables but will get excited for asparagus, broccoli, and certain other veggies if they’re cooked well ☺️
Me too! I love grilled asparagus and broccoli 🥦 .
Eating disorders are common with children who grow up in a chaotic and abusive environment. That is because the child suffers from feeling out of control because they are constantly forced into traumatic situations and neglected, and have little safety with their carers or routines.
So the child might find out they can control their eating, and that might help them create a feeling of safety, constancy of routines and rituals surrounding that. It also gives something concrete the child can grasp onto as something that is theirs and can't be taken away by force, like "I cannot stop you from beating and abusing me, but I can control what I eat".
If a person's feeling of safety has developed around controlling their eating, changing those habits might feel like they're giving up the last bit of safety and control they have. That might feel absolutely terrifying, even if they aren't in the unsafe and abusive environment any longer and their behaviour seems irrational to others.
So what do you do instead? Replace it with something else? Honestly asking for myself
What's he do when he goes 2 a restaurant or out with a grl just order mac &cheese if he goes out
So true ... 😯
Thanks for that explanation… Makes a lot of sense. I had an eating disorder which began under those exact circumstances you described and I get frustrated with my boyfriend for being so picky because I mostly got over my issues. But he’s been through some terrible things and didn’t have access to much food and definitely not good food as a kid, so I appreciate the reminder that I should be more patient with him about his eating habits I don’t understand.
If I eat the same food for longer then two days running I start going off it, can't imagine eating mac for 17 years straight. Mans got loyalty and commitment bruh!
Me: "I bet this dude has a serious protein deficiency from not eating any meat or protein rich vegetables for so long"
*41 grams of protein per box, 3 boxes a day*
"OK or I guess he is having more protein than me daily even after a protein shake"
So I actually worked with Austin at Domino's for a bit over a year, and tbh hes a great guy. It's really really surreal seeing any commentary on his vice doc bc its like oh yeah, its Austin.
Can you tell Austin that he’s not eating mac and cheese, he’s eating shells and cheese?
Nah, but seriously, I hope he lives a fulfilling & happy life.
Also, he never ate any pizza?!? Wow?!?
To me, it sounds like this guy developed a comfort towards mac and cheese. He even said, "mac and cheese is something I can control and keep consistent." I bet growing up he was allowed whatever he wanted to eat, or he learned to cook it himself. Regardless, it was something in his life that no matter what happened that day, he can look forward to his favorite meal mac and cheese. I'm sure that over the years he depended on that comfort more and more, which leads us to now, where changing that comfort and consistency is a scary thing. It's not really the mac and cheese itself, but the concept of mac and cheese.
Well said
As a psychologist I feel like this is a great example of how people get addicted to something, most of the times people feel like they don’t have control over their life’s and when you find something that you feel like it’s truly yours and no one can “control” that besides yourself, it makes you feel safe, in “control”, even if it’s not…
*tis not the mac n cheese itself*
*nay but the concept of the mac*
The fact that he's 20 and all he's eaten is mac and cheese for 17 years means he was only FED mac and cheese as a very young child too, long before he could cook it for himself.
"I'm not a heathen, so I don't eat with the wooden spoon" I lost it
Thanks Ken and Dane for making awesome content! I love your guys' videos more than this guy loves mac and cheese.
I have this same eating disorder- it’s called ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake this order) a lot of it is trauma based. For me when I was a kid I had issues with my acid reflux and keeping food down which turned into a issue of the fear of puking. For 24 years now I’ve only been able to keep down pasta, chicken, some fruit, cucumbers, and ice cream. Having this disorder is EXHAUSTING and super frustrating because like the kid said he wants to go out and be more social but it’s hard when they don’t have that “safe” food on the menu
Sorry for what you have been through. I would recommend working with a therapist. Chemo made me fear certain foods and I am working on that with my therapist.
I know of some friends who are afraid of vomiting, its called emetophobia. It is usually rooted in anxiety. I have severe motion sickness due to childhood ear infections and a sensitive stomach. Interestingly enough, after I was treated for insomnia from anxiety and depression, I was prescribed Xanax for sleep as needed. After taking it before a long flight, I took it throughout the trip and it totally cured my car sickness. I haven't gotten car sick in ages by just having a small amount of benzodiazepines in my system.
I feel like the foods you like are acidic and could make you have acid more than healthier foods sadly
I actually kinda like it when my acid reflux happens, but mainly cause I just make it into something funny when it does. Idk, I kindq like having my problems, but I also don't as well.
I had something similar with acid reflux and not being able to keep food down as a child! There were certain foods that were way worse to throw up, and I still won’t eat them now even though it’s been like 10 years
"Nobody gets excited over vegetables."
When you dated a guy who would throw a tantrum if you didn't get a cake with your last 10 bucks and absolutely wouldn't let you have any veggies or fruit in your diet, trust me, you gain a whole new appreciation for the way vegetables make you feel. I never thought I'd be sick of junk food as I was when I finally left him, and started eating healthy again. I still snack, don't get me wrong, but choosing when I get to snack is key.
Im a European that lived in America for 2 years. I can definitely confirm you learn to appreciate vegetables very fast when you don’t have any for a while lol
"I'm not addicted to Mac and cheese, but I need to eat and have trained my body to only accept mac and cheese." I feel like that's preeeetty much an addiction.
"I'm not a heathen, I don't eat with the wooden spoon, I use silverware"
Yeah, but you eat out the pot dude!!
Less dishes, easier to transport, and it's just a serving for one. How is that a bad thing?
Exactly
In Korea they mostly eat their ramen noodles out of the pot tho, it’s not that new of a concept
No need to make more dishes to clean
Pretty sure those “hands of an 80yo lady” are the hands of an 80yo lady. Definitely his grandma stirring his mac
I literally just found this channel, and boy am I glad I did. Their humour is just like mine! ❤️❤️
Ken: NO one gets excited over vegetables
Me: Straight up smashing a whole salad....yea hehe no one
I love how he picks celery out of all the veggies to choose behind him lmao!
I cracked up when Buff lost track of the story and was like, “I dunno, his dad threw him through the wall to his neighbor’s house.” The actual story was sad but the way Buff mixed it was hilarious.
My college roommate lined her bedroom wall with 100s of Mac & Cheese boxes because a local grocery store had a sale of like 5 or 10 cents per box. So she bought them out. We never starved 😅
He is a Game Grumps fan! Itta Pupu is a persona that made up years ago! 😆😆😂😂 I died when I seen the computer screen 🤣
He seems a lot more normal then most people on the show.
Thank you for putting out these amazing videos! From my family to yours: All the happiness in the world!
It's from the bloodborne series too so he could also be a souls fan lol.
I’m glad I’m not the only grumps fan here that noticed
I went searching in the comments to see if anyone else noticed
After looking at him for a second I would believe nothing other than he has been eating mac and cheese his whole life.
Wait did he say he is 20?? So he’s only eaten this since he was 3?? I’d call that child abuse or at least an the verge of it 👀
Also I can’t live without meat but I do love vegetables, especially salads 😋
Yeah. My niece went through a phase where she only wanted hot dogs for years and my sister just let her eat nothing but hot dogs. It's baffling... Like YOU as the parent have full control of this situation. She acts like she had no choice.
My niece only wanted to eat apples, bread rolls and plain pasta.
Hell yes a good well made salad is straight fire.
@Jurtez Lupa not every kid whose picky with foods has an eating disorder...
@Jurtez Lupa then take the kid to get help
To eat the same food day in and day out... The man deserves a frickin medal!
I don’t really think this is the kind of thing that should earn you a medal. More like he deserves sympathy for the trauma that caused this and help to recover from it
A diet that only consists of mac and cheese lacks essential nutrients. For example, meat is a good source of protein and iron, which provide energy. A diet without meat can also cause weakness and fatigue
Ken. As an avid watcher of GMM... I'm here to tell you...
That mic IS live. They don't use lav mics. They have also actively have put things up to that microphone for us viewers to hear better in many episodes. :)
Now, that being said it's definitely not their main microphone. They use boom mics above them.
Hello fellow mythical beast! I was about to comment that same thing! As many times as Rhett and Link have bumped the mic, it's definitely on! I wonder if this guy has watched the Will It Mac and Cheese episode and tried any of the recipes 🤣

Hello to all the Mythical Beasts! BYMB OK?!
I love to eat a ton of vegetables, when they’re cooked well. Not necessarily unhealthily, but just cooked to actually taste good and not over cooked or anything. Think of a great stir fry or roasted veggies etc, steamed & sautéed.
Same!
Roasted veggies are freaking amazing, pair it with some good meat, thats a five star meal right there
Well cooked veggies are incredible. Sadly, most of the time they're soggy and bland and I guess that's why people hate them.
yeah I get excited for veggies
Loving Ken not getting the itta pupu joke 😂
I have a ton of respect for this guy! He's only twenty and already this aware.
This is SEVER ARFID (avoidance/restrictive food intake disorder) I have it too. I can eat about 20 foods. And I'd easily be able to eat just cheese pizza or just chicken nuggets for the rest of my life. Food isn't appetizing, nothing looks edible to me. My brain looks at food and things it looks toxic and not safe to eat.
I have ARFID too! I also eat around the same amount of foods as you. I can totally believe this situation because I’ve been there, having rough months where I only eat around 4 things. Food also isn’t appetizing to me, I kind of hate eating at this point
@@annetheelf8174 it's such a complicated and annoying struggle. I can't even eat my "safe foods" sometimes. Everything always has to taste exactly the same as it did last time or my brain goes "something is wrong. Spit it out or I'll make you spit it out." And if I push through and keep eating, I do get sick and can't eat for the rest of the day, sometimes even for a few days. I'd say 50% of my calories come from high calorie and nutrient dense protein shakes or liquid meal replacements. I hate food. I eat to survive, not because I want to. I wish it wasn't that way.
Yup I got it too! I wish it was more well known… it’s a valid eating disorder just like anorexia, binge eating disorder, etc.
@@lauren-fi8sc ... I would say it's NOTHING like anorexia or bulimia. But I do think I know what you mean, that it needs to be seen as valid. It's disordered eating vs. an eating disorder. It doesn't have to do with body image or weight. It's far more of a sensory disorder; the way food looks, tastes, smells, the texture, tends to be the issue.
@@DeeKate that’s pretty much what I meant, but also it can be just as dangerous as any other eating disorder which is why it’s so frustrating seeing people not take it seriously.
Bob Evans is a major midwest thing! Known mostly for their breakfast sausage. I wouldn’t go near their mac though.
Anyone try the at home Cracker Barrel Baked Mac n Cheese? It’s glorious!!!😋😋😋
Aw nah Bob Evans Mac and Cheese and their mashed potatoes are the shit man
I haven't been to a Bob Evans restaurant in years, but I buy their mashed potatoes from the store all the time. So tasty!
I don't like Mac and Cheese but my son does and he likes Bob Evans
Cracker barrel Mac n cheese is the only kind I eat now
I was wondering if it was just a midwest thing because I remember bob evans commercials coming on all the time growing up in michigan lol
I thought this would be a funny story but it ended up being so sad ): It sounds like the mac & cheese fulfills the concept that a stuffed animal would where you turn to it for comfort and when you feel scared or helpless. It seems to have become a coping mechanism for him to numb the trauma that is likely resurfacing now during adulthood. I hope he gets the help he needs.
OMG.. I had to go back and listen to that a second time when I heard "who's Bob Evans" ... That's one of my all time favorite restaurants... They have amazing country cooking 😋😋😋 yummy
“He’s probably the healer, he ain’t got nothing to do right now” I felt that😩❤️

In todays food saturated culture, it is easy to assume he is making active choices not to change his habits. Problem is this is a true anxiety response that invalidates those healthy thoughts of trying to make better habits.
Eating disorders are way more widespread then we originally assumed. Both me and my partner struggle with selective eating, and while I’ve improved, my partner has continued to struggle. We all have different processes, and it’s important to recognize the individuality in each of those processes.
Much respect for this guy for bringing it to light, I hope he helps himself and can find comfort in food moving forward. Maybe he can help others figure out what’s wrong with them as well.
Damn. I had a similar problem back in college and law school. I ate peanut butter every day, with anything. I just couldn't eat anything unless I smother it with peanut butter. I had all types of peanut butter to spice things up. Honey roast, unsweetened, chunky... I got so used to peanut butter that I just couldn't get myself to eat anything else. It took a toll on my health.
My son, and I prefer the one with the Velveeta cheese in over the powder stuff. It's available in Canada too btw :)
This man picked an item off the kid's menu and just never gave up
That one Mac n cheese as a kid blew his mind and he has never cheated since 😂
This is literally my cousin with chicken tenders. When we go to good restaurants she’ll just get tenders!! why!?

I've just never understood how people can eat the same thing each day- I just get sick/tired of it, even if I love it 😅
Edit: I'm definately not making fun of him, I meant more in the general sense of people who eat the same thing every day. From the video it's pretty obvious that he associates Mac & Cheese with being in control, and comfort. Even then I get it- I could eat yogurt with cheerios for breakfast, lunch and dinner 😌
its a mental condition that you just sometimes get in a point of your life
Ocd makes me eat the same sandwich with sides of cucumber and blueberries for every meal. I'm on a three month streak on this fixation. Sometimes it just happens
Could be a routine thing. Sometimes I’ll eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch everyday because it’s familiar and it keeps me on a schedule. It definitely throws me off to change it up and change gives me major anxiety lol. Everyone’s different though
I used to eat an acai bowl every day for lunch and chicken rice and beans for dinner every night. I love both and never get tired of it. I stopped because acai bowls were sold out and I got to lazy to cook chicken/rice/beans. I would eat other food if we went out for dinner or something but I just love both of those meals. If someone else was cooking I would still eat chicken rice and beans every day. I'm definitely a routine based person so maybe that has something to do with it.
I think I have about... 10 dishes in rotation at any time, each dish being changed out every two weeks. Sometimes I get back into old recipies, sometimes I'm adventurous. I'll go the strange or unfamiliar route in restaurants, and I'll eat my mothers weird traditional foods once a week at my parents. That would be normal, yes?
Damn eating Mac n cheese for 17 years really did a number on his body lol

Hang in there! Been suffering from anxiety, also here seeking distraction. It gets better
I have ARFID, and its a form of an eating disorder that basically is an avoidance disorder. Certain foods/textures/experiences make food inedible for me. Its common for people who have autism and OCD. This can be kinda an exaggeration of it, but there are some people who only have 3-4 safe foods that they will eat period. It isnt far off
My son has this and we are hoping to get more foods into his diet but don't know how to find a specialist. He eats baby food (the with oatmeal varieties), graham crackers and greek yogurt. He gets his nutrition, thankfully, but it's heartbreaking that he's almost ten and has never enjoyed candy or a cake or really anything.
@@angehdabneh9686 I was 10 years old when I got my diagnosis. I am very lucky that I live near an eating disorder clinic. They unfortunately are so far and few in between for as common as eating disorders are. I was referred from my family doctor, which unfortunately is the only way I know to. It is a difficult process but I hope your son will be able to find some help
This!
My son, a 13-year-old autistic boy, has a limited food intake. We (and his various teachers/therapists) have worked with him throughout the years to expand his food horizon. I’m so happy to say that my kiddo- who at one time would only eat chicken nuggets and spaghetti- will now try to at least take a bite or two of a unknown food to try it out. Sometimes it’s still hit-or-miss, but I’m so proud of him!! Happy 13th Birthday, Zachary!! 🎂💜🥰
@@annwitten4359 You are doing great!! Glad that he has a great support system and is getting his concerns addressed. Its been a long process but its worth it!
That much cheese he ain’t pooping 😂
It’s 1:14 am and this made me get up and make some Mac and cheese 🤣
So I'm actually kinda glad this video got posted, as I was recently diagnosed with what this guy has, though it's called something slightly different now... It's called avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID for short). While it's not exactly known what causes ARFID, trauma, and often trauma around food, tends to lead to this. For instance with me my dad would yell and get pissed off when I was a kid if I couldn't eat what my parents made, usually from me throwing it up without meaning to, and has led to me as a 28 year old person having a dream diet of a child.
The trauma around food creates a nervous feedback loop when it comes to food, especially new food, because you're worried you're going to experience that again. For some people with ARFID, the trauma is simply the act of choking on food that can build up or lead to it.
It's very hard to distinguish picky eating vs ARFID, but generally you might be able to tell the difference if the person is willing to try other foods, if the person does comment they feel hungry or are interested in eating foods they enjoy. For me, I don't feel hunger (I blame my fasting for 2 years, where I only ate one meal a day), am extraordinarily "picky" about even the brands of food I'll eat, and have no excitement or interest in food. There's other things too, but this comment is already long enough...
I really hope this guy managed to expand his diet! While the human body is resilient and will keep on trucking on with whatever it's given, it's of course not healthy long term to stick to one single food, or have a narrow diet. 😅
Thank you for sharing!!
My heart goes out for you, and hope your life only gets better
A clown beat me with a foot long hotdog at a theme park when I was 5. So I can only eat speghetti now.
@@johnmadsen37 I got molested by a dolphin last Tuesday., now I assault Midgets with curly fries.
Damn, I feel you. And although I like to think I have a wide enough "variety" of foods, the truth is, I do *avoid* a lot of things due to various anxieties
.... i couldnt sit through this whole video but the comments section sure is giving me something to think about 🤔
growing up i was raised a vegetarian for no reason bc my parents were weird as hell & never forced me to try new foods so i ended up developing OCD and bulimia bc i ended up hating eating what i ate and it made me so picky & particular that now they make fun of me for it but i can recognize my struggles and do the best with what i have bc i’ve learned there’s a whole world of veganism for me after being so stressed for years of bullshit. just wanted to share bc for so long i never had a word to describe my weirdness towards food and being recently being diagnosed w OCD & having a history of bulimia, things make a lot of sense for me & i felt like maybe it could be beneficial to share this. shit’s hard but i know recovery is possible.
"It's mac & cheese, not mac & cheese & white beans" proceeds to buy the one that isn't even macaroni.
Oh my God yeeeessssss … Rhett and Link … woooooo … I wasn’t expecting that cameo 😂 …
I am so very pleasantly surprised ❤️
Easy mac that comes in shapes, like spongebob or whatever, the texture is different and especially good.
"No one gets excited about vegetables!"
Me: *eating an entire bag of lettuce in one sitting by myself* 👁 🪴 👁
For me, it's tomatoes. I love all kinds of them, raw and cooked. They are probably my favorite food. I get excited when I order Chinese food and they have bean sprouts, as well as when I can actually find them fresh at a store. It's difficult to find them in my area, which sucks. I love making homemade fried rice, but it just isn't the same without the bean sprouts.
Now that’s a distinguished nose :P
I do this too! Eating a bag of lettuce instead of a bag of potato chips, haha.
I love spinach. So good. And cold iceberg lettuce or cucumber on a hot day, so refreshing.
And celery with peanut butter is delicious
I don't even have notifs on but I'm here bright and early every day lol top tier videos, love Dane and Ken
They are the only Channel that I check for uploads every single day. Love them so much
Same here, haven't missed a videos in a loooooong time
Same! Lol I consider it my Morning by Mississippians pod lmao, I am from olive branch- an area about an hour and a half away from their hometown! No one else around here Has channels that are so good! Love y’all.
Why don’t you turn them on?
@@mimishandle oh cool I'm from Meridian Mississippi. Thankfully we live in Louisiana now it is much nicer here. In every way. People are way more accepting
Don't feel bad Ken, there's a lot of things that can mess with your weight, stress is a huge factor, ppl either eat more when they're stress or they eat less, your age matters cus again you metabolism changes with age, depression is a huge factor cus with depression comes laziness, the lack of motivation, even certain medical conditions can contribute to weight problems. You got anorexia, bulimia, PCOS which is something a lot of women have, you're either born with it or your body can develop it for certain reasons. I have PCOS & I got it from taking Depo-Provera which is a type of birth control that you get injected into your arm every 3 months, since one of the side effects is not having a menstrual cycle my body developed PCOS as a result of not having a menstrual cycle for over 5 yrs, it's now been 11 yrs & I haven't taken any form of birth control in 6 yrs & I still haven't had a menstrual cycle. The PCOS messes up your hormones & metabolism so I gain weight very easily & it's very hard to lose it, I can gain like 5 pounds from eating a salad, it's ridiculous & frustrating & makes me feel less motivated, also I have major depression disorder & anxiety so I have a whole grocery list of ingredients for disaster but I still try when I push myself enough.
I hope you will get better
Thank you, I wasn't seeking sympathy from ppl, I was just trying to let Ken know that everyone has problems & that he's not alone yk.
I haven't had my period in 6 months and don't have any pregnancy symptoms, is that normal for pcos or are there any other ways to clearly tell I have it?
Lol. 5 pounds eating salad. Maybe a 5 lb taco salad.
@@chi3043 My guess is maybe but I'm not a doctor so I cannot say yes or no. I would go to your gynecologist & let them know your symptoms, they have ways of testing. I ended up having to get an ultrasound which I had never had one before & lemme tell ya to brace yourself if that's what you end up doing cus that shit hurt but then again everyone is different so it may hurt for you it may not.
Love your vids just recently started watching your channel first video was the 40 year old Virgin swear you guys are so funny
another great video guys
I had a roommate that ate peanut butter with a spoon, grilled cheese consisting of white bread, sans the crust, and American cheese, and sometimes fruit or chips. I can believe a man not eating more than mac and cheese for 17 years.
As someone with ARFID I completely get that, I desperately want to try new things(especially veg) but even putting it near my mouth causes involuntary gagging or nausea and at the worst I'm actually physically sick. Mine is mostly to do with textures so unfortunately everything is blended and then put through a sieve 🤣 sauces and soup are the closest I can get to eating veg on the regular. I feel for this dude though, it makes it harder to go for food with friends and I never used to eat at friend's houses when I was a kid to avoid any embarrassment. Some people combat it, others unfortunately nothing works
@@DesterWeb I never had that problem myself, but I know toothpaste is fun to find when I detest mint.
@@AnymousScreams you should try the cinnamon version... I've found most brands have it and it is actually quite pleasant
No please! This dude is fake! I live in keystone heights Florida and have for my whole life! I’m 25. I attended KHHS and this guy just did this for the cameras !!!😭
The things people will do for their 15 minutes of fame 🙄
I believe it, but he does look a a giant tub of mac and cheese. 😂
Have you seen him eat other foods?
@@anjallama4986 Not me personally, I don’t associate with him. But having lived in the same town as him my whole life, I know people who know him personally and can truthfully say they’ve seen him eat other foods. This TLC thing was purely for attention
I can also attest to this, rode the same bus as Austin from 7-9th grade, does seem like he did it for clout
I used to work at a nursing home and we served broccoli with velvetta sauce on top. It’s AMAZING.
Whilst i couldn't eat just one thing for my whole life shell pasta+ ground beef+shredded brick cheese+ white sauce is good eatin'
18:10 speak for yourself. Some veggies get me just as excited as a steak. Some steamed broccoli and cauliflower, sweet corn, snap green beans, mmmm. If veggies don't get you excited, you're cooking them wrong.
Try some Asian veggie dishes if you will!
I love veggies honestly. I'd take a veggie lovers pizza over a meat lovers any day.
Woohoo 🥳 cinnamontoastken veggie squad! 🤔 nah that’s too long.
I mean, Mac and cheese is good but to live off it? That's a hardcore man.
enriched flour in the usa has vitamins added to the flour...but i will bet his bathroom shelf has boxes of exlax to help move the cheese brick along to the exit! 🤣
Bob Evan's is actually a restaurant. Dope ass breakfast. And surprisingly good burgers too.
I live in Poland and I have never ever in my life seen cheese like that haha.
Ps. Love the videos perfect to watch when I eat my Pierogi.
Pierogies are amazing! Omg I could only imagine how good they are in Poland 🇵🇱.
That's because Velveeta isn't cheese... it's mainly whey protein concentrate, milk protein concentrate, milk, fat, and preservatives.
Clearly the guy has ARFID 🤷🏻♀️ I have it too so i understand his struggle completely
It's an involuntary eating disorder with no body dysmorphia. It's basically a phobia of eating anything outside of your list of "safe foods" and that list can vary from barely anything, to a nice variety and you can be of any size
Usually its sensory related to looks, smell, taste, color and texture but can also be trauma induced
And you have no choice in eating. Your body PHYSICALLY wont allow you to even take a bite of something unfamiliar. It feels like a choking gagging sensation and for me if I swallow the bite I'll vomit
Yessss
Yes!! I start gagging and can’t swallow it if I’m not comfortable with the texture of something. I remember throwing up every time my parents tried to make me eat meat as a kid. Never ate it again and probably never will.
ILT. Thank you for informing and educating 😊
I don’t have ARFID but I did have severe anorexia when I was a teenager and I had a very limited list of safe food. Just the SMELL of “unsafe” food would send me into a panic attack so eating it was out of the question, but it wasn’t a physical reaction like gagging or vomiting it was more psychological.
I would love to turn y’all vegan lol
I love you both! Also, I love veggies! Roast them, they're yummy!
Ken and Buff not knowing what Bob Evans is and assuming it’s the gourmet stuff is sending me😭💀
The fact that there's a large percentage of people who haven't seen, heard about, or tasted the food from a Bob Evans restaurant makes me sad
Me too. I was shocked when Ken said what is Bob Evans my mouth dropped to the floor the biscuits and gravy are just heaven!!!
It’s literally the best
Bob Evans is a restaurant?
@@ThatBetchEllie I never heard of it

When you hear people talk about government cheese, that was only one of the things they gave out. There were also noodles, and mac and cheese is what everyone made because that does give you the most basic needs in the fewest items. Not ideal, but it will keep you going.
👍🏽
A human can live off of purely mac and cheese for about 20 years before running into debilitating medical problems. Most foods can only give you 1-5 years.
I too share Dane's aggressive opinions on celery 😂😂
During deep depressions all I can get myself to eat is rice. For weeks, sometimes months. Food is a coping mechanism one way or another for most people.
I found y'all not to long ago and man ive been hooked ever since. I love your personalities and just how real and funny you guys are ❤ you two are the bright side to my day 😎
Watching this while eating a pan of Velveeta mac and cheese hits differently
Not them not knowing lurking class 😂😂😂
My youngest has high functioning autism and for the longest time would only eat Mac and cheese if we went out to eat…but at the same time, I only made from scratch with natural cheese not processed and if I added chopped broccoli or other veges, it never stopped him from eating it… glad he’s finally out of that phase…
its kinda worrying to see he finds a safe zone in eating just mac & cheese, he's got quite the good people around him, and he's getting help physically, mentally & emotionally (based on the video), If there's a change, I do hope it's a good one and one he's satisfied with. He's a good dude, I'd hang out with a chill guy like him
His kidneys have to be a rock quarry by now.
Lmao 3:32 bruh "alright"-Ken
We add peas and white pepper to our Mac & cheese. It adds a freshness to it that balances out the heaviness of the cheese and noodles.
Fun fact: ramen noodle packets are used as currency within inmates in U.S prisons.
Our whole town knows it’s fake!! Just wanted to let you guys know! I watch your videos all the time, it’s so crazy y’all covered this!
This was a TLC show right. We all know it's fake
yeah he seems like the type to fake it lol
Yeah nothing hes saying adds up at all, if hes had opportunities to try other foods how has he never seen how vegetables are cooked? If hes been eating it for 17 years and hes 20, and his story is that he ran from his abusive dad and would eat mac and cheese, was he doing that at 4 years old? His abusive dad was fine with him refusing to eat anything other than mac and cheese? Makes no sense
Clearly it's over exaggerated lol
That guy looks like the famous sardine kid from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
"Im not a heathen I don't eat with the wooden spoon"
