- Here I unbox a pair of monkstraps from the most famous Spanish shoemaker: Carmina Shoemaker
This is a pair that I actually customized in their MTO program and one that is currently being offered as a GMTO on their site.

Really beautiful, and a make up that can surely be seen with Justin’s influence. Surely a custom design that have inspired me.
Excellent video once again Justin I really enjoyed this review.
Thank you Kenwin! I appreciate it my man
Thanks a lot for the review. I do own several pairs from Carmina. I'm truly amazed by the quality at this price. The overall package and the attention of detail is something which I really appreciate. Also the Cordovan Leather collection is amazing. Would buy a pair without hesitation. Have fun with your pair!
Thank you for your comment Markus! And support in the UA-cam channel
Beautiful piece. I love 2 shade tone. As usual Justin is a legend. 👊🏾👊🏾
🙏🙏🙏
They look beautiful, Justin. Well done.
Thank you Joey!
What a great custom creation! Simpson last is one of my favorites from them. Really cool idea for them to do a GMTO with the model.
Thanks Mike!
Agreed sir.
The color combination is on point. Very nice and balanced.
Glad that you like it
Wow! Such as good eye, and I love Carmina’s. I’m not going-to lie, I can’t tell you have many times I’ve got on their custom configurator and used that same Style ( I even emailed them even as it’s not on the RTW) as I wanted something like the Savile from G&G and I’m always mixing calf and suede as I think that’s unique and beautiful. Never thought of those colors but I like them. Cool!
Glad that you like them! Thanks for sharing
Brioni and lidfort have had similar types of these beauties. Carmina are one of the best. Good video.
Their QC seems to have dropped significantly over the past 12 months at least from the posts people make here and there. Difficult to communicate with.
In their good day their shoes are superb. Thanks for the video Justin. I would prefer to see this model with a darker suede apron but that's just me. Simpson can be tough to size well. Definitely a half size up from your regular UK if you don't have narrow feet.
Yes, I am seeing that a lot. I wonder if this is growing pains and them getting too big for their own good and not having enough staff to handle their growth? Yes, a dark brown suede would be a nice combo too, but more A/W and less S/S and I was going for something I could really show off on a bright, Sunny day with some light linen suit ;-)
Hey Justin, I wanted to let you know that I love your Unboxing Series. I just ordered a pair of Carmina balmoral boots and can't wait to get them. I noticed you haven't done a video on Vass shoes yet. Are you planning to do so? I've been thinking of getting a pair, but still not sure how they compare to a brand like Carmina or even Crocket & Jones.
Thank you for your support and kind words. I appreciate the support. I actually never plan to review anyone its all kind of happened organically with brands offering. But I can reach out to Vass and see if they are keen. Enjoy your new boots!
Fantastic video as always, Justin! I do agree with the guys here, the customer service isn't the best. They work pretty darn slow, and would have better response about fit and sizing on FB groups. Maybe they don't have enough staff to handle the growth.
Thanks for sharing Yap. Lets see if they read all of this feedback and improve
Awesome pair of Carminas 👍🏼 I have a pair of blue suede and light brown suede shoes. I wonder would you still have the black sneaker in your inventory?? I really love the look of your sneakers. 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing. And yes, I have our black sneakers in stock. See link: www.jfitzpatrickfootwear.com/collections/boutique/products/olympia-black-calf-black-sole
Hi Justin, nice shoes & nice combination!.... that model is 80180, lovely single monk!... they are only offering the MTO on Simpson, so yes, most people might need to size up 1/2 size. Any particular reasons you are not a fan of shell?.. enjoy your shoes!!
Thank you Alberto! Never thought the price hike was worth it for shell. Its also heavy. Calfskin suits my needs just fine so never found a reason to want to pay extra for something I dont feel gives me any real added value
Can't to wait to see Justin unboxing Bonton.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I doubt they would ever send a pair so am unsure of how I wiuld get one since I certainly wouldnt purchase one. Lets see ;-)
@@theshoesnob_official 😂😂😂😂 they will be stupid no to..good job mate.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@haroldharryhugh367 🙏🙏🙏
That is the first Monk that I liked, as I am not a loafer guy. Always a lace for me.
Happy to help you discover new things 🙏
When you first unboxed, I did raise an eyebrow. The more you showed, them more liked. You are right: to wear a SpTD mixed suede calf, you need to 'have all your other bases covered'...I wish you all the best with this collaboration :-)
Tony
p.s I have a wider foot (talking UK 10 G width) - I guess there's not much scope for a pair like that for me ?
Ha! They grow on you ;-) A bit of bold never hurts. Not sure if they are offering wide widths for the GMTO. Maybe worth asking though? And thanks for the well wishes!
This look is what I wanted to do with the TLB Artista single monk but they didnt offer a suede option for the vamp. I was going to go with hatch grain throughout but didnt want to settle. I wasnt sure that if I reached out to them, they would be able to accomodate the suede request.. I will definitely check this out because I am currently drawn to monks. Another great informational video. Thanks Justin!
Thanks for sharing and the support. I am sure that if you reach out to Toni, he will accommodate you. Good luck!
Like Justin said, reach out to them they are stars and will surely fix it for you!
I'll definitely reach out. Thanks guys!
*Update* You guys were right. Toni was able to accommodate my request. Thanks again :)
@@sartorialsuccess7171 glad to hear it! Enjoy them ;-)
-Awesome 😎 awesome shoe and definitely not bold, yet very unique and would definitely look even more unique with a nice navy double or single-breasted suit Peak Lapel that is👌🏼✨.
- I’m glad you presented the quality more in-depth, as perhaps I was wrong when I checked them out at their boutique in Dubai, because they did feel quite inexpensive and the soles too. After you explained when you made them, I understood though.
-And yes your collaboration effort with them is definitely appreciated, but I’m very anxious to see my upcoming MTO from your company this next month, and I bet they’ll be quite spectacular honestly.
-Justin, I’m curious are you going to be adding belts and other leather products to your line……..?
Thanks for sharing Zohair. Yes, I am eagerly awaiting your MTO too, it is going to be very cool! No belts planned though. Thanks as always for the support my friend

A different question, are the jodhpur boots a bit loose than normal boots right? I feel I need to go same size or even half down on the Simpson last on the jodhpur boot so I don't have heel slippage...
I have never tried their jodhpurs so it is hard for me to give you accurate advice on that. I personally go up a size for their Simpson as it is a narrower last for me. But yes, in general, boots have less grip on yoru heels as opposed to a low cut shoe that has a lace or strap that can essentially fasten your heel and lock you in, so to speak. The cut of a boot to allow for your instep prevents it from being as snug of a fit
The trees s/b cedar wood. I own a pair with JR soles, which was an option on a custom order. They do have JR on the soles.
They are actually beechwood. And yes, pretty sure they use JR soles for all Carmina shoes but remove the JR logo. I could be wrong though
@@theshoesnob_official I believe they don't. You will see that after few wears, as Carmina's leather sole is very soft and wearing out very fast. PS: I don't have shoes with JR soles, I have Carmina's Chelsea boots with brand leather soles, but if a little of that I heard about JR is true, Carmina's leather soles are not JR. Also Styleforum thread proves that too.
@@thorsangervanet I see. Thanks for sharing that info
Do you have an affinity with Washington state? I noticed some of your shoe models include Pullman, Rainier, Spokane, Sunnyside, Richland, etc
I am from Seattle. Naming my shoes after places in Washington is like giving back to something that created me. I.e. not forgetting where I am from and what shaped me.
I've bought 3 pairs from Carmina and their customers support is pure pain. One had an issue too big to ignore so had to sent back and they didn't have a replace so it took a few months, another time they sent the wrong belt size and it also took like a month and a half to sort it out...it really puts me off.
Thank you for sharing and sorry to hear that.
Do all the Carmina shoes come with shoe trees?
No they do not. They will specify when a shoe comes with shoe trees in the price. If it does not mention it assume that the are just for photography
Los zapatos CARMINA aun se hacen en España o ahora ya los hacen en China???
Siempre en España
have you reviewed edward green?
I have not, not in my videos. Written plenty of times about them on my blog though.
is it better quality then CHEANEY?
That is subjective. I dont answer comparative questions. I will say I prefer Carmina over Cheaney
I just received a pair and am disappointed. Beautiful color, but leather is stiff and plastic and they lack proper shape in the heal. They are going back folks. Shocked
Of this exact pair or another model? Sorry for your experience
Carmina needs to improve their customer service and quality control. Greatly disappointing
sorry to hear that you apparently have not had much success with them. Hopefully they see your comment and take note
That shape is too feminine for me. 👠
To each his own
