Impressive saw. It dwarfs my Sears and Roebuck Dunlap 12", 1/4 hp bench-top model.

What a great video! Restful, cool, beautiful and interesting. I would like to know you. I have got to ask what is up with the duct tape sleeves? I’m subscribed and only one thumb up is all I can do.

Hello iv just stumbled across your video of your beautifully presented power hack saw , it’s a cracker very nice !
The sound of the cutting action with the quiet sounds of the gearing in the back ground is quite mesmerising.
Good content there too about teeth per inch we have a large band saw at work and use 1 blade for everything the hydraulic decent control goes some way to stopping it ripping teeth off on thin material but when cutting very large material it struggles as the teeth are becoming “ full “ before they travel all the way through the work.
Sometimes cutting around 1/3 the way into a piece of round stock before stopping and clocking the stock round 1/4 of a turn can help in this situation.
It’s possible the saw ran off on the large piece due to the teeth filling with a rolled up chips while only being say half or two thirds the way through the work
Iv no real experience with power hack saws. Directly but would love to get some ! Iv a Q+S saw there waiting in the wings for restoration when iv time
Your video has been a great inspiration for me very nice to see a nice old saw in action 👍🏻

Thanks for comment. I have often thought of getting a band saw for small stuff and presumed you could probably cut everything with one blade, as they must be hard to change.
The Quarters and Smith will be good for larger material, I remember my grandad using one when I was a child, and being fascinated by it. Good luck with the saw.

How does this machine adjusts downfeed pressure?
Wish there was a video which explained the hydraulic sorcery behind this

Is this cutting fluid or just collant fluid.

It's a mixture of oil and water, to lubricate the cut and keep the blade cool. The blade wouldn't last long without it.
