I always felt like a Shinto alternative ending could have been that Shinto accepts being caught by Grey even though he cheated and just decides to annoy him every minute of every day. A more wholesome approach on the lore behind this from Grey/Shinto's side: Shinto and Grey made a truce and worked together to get out of the game. They did it and are free to explore the large and vast *other* game outside of their own. Slowly but surely, Grey befriends the yellow shit, but not enough for her to go in the Pokeball. Think of it like Ash's Pikachu in S1. She listens to Grey's commands? No, more like requests. In all honesty, Shinto is the one in command here. Anyways, our dynamic duo makes their way to the frigid Mt. Silver with Grey's only source of heat being Shinto's epic dance moves or something, I don't know. In a moment of sorrow and hopelessness, Grey opens up to his new friend about his death and how his grave was robbed by some nerdy looking people, who then stuck his soul in Shinto's game. Hearing the horrid truth, she stopped and faced the poor boy. "Cowabummer" being her only words of comfort. *To be continued, I guess*

@@mewexe3988 The whole 'cheating' part comes from how Shinto wasn't *supposed* to be caught nor encountered, the only way to actually meet her is to cheat and hack the game, which would then lock the game in a virtually impossible difficulty because of it. Hence why Shinto was capable of breaking out, that impossible difficulty allowed her to just break out.
In an alternative timeline where Grey was able to successfully convince Shinto that he was just some 10-year-old boy who got trapped in the game by some greedy developers, Shinto took pity on the dead kid and decided that if he can't get to the afterlife, then he can at least enjoy this place, becoming his first Pokemon. Now, looks like some newcomers are threatening to break this game after breaking into it... (I just saw the actual story in the description. I'm blind sometimes.)

My outcome for this alternative timeline? Grey "played fair" this time and caught Shinto by giving her a chance. As they explore outside the cave, they decide to climb to what I suppose is mount silver outside the cave, they whiteness the dead and frostbite Pokémon. Nikku is probably here because they were watching in the distance during the song, FrostBite. Hence, Nikku copies the song and some of red's vocals. Grey and Shinto show up, and that's where this song comes into place. About Skarlet I'm unsure about. Thats all the lore I can come up with for now.
