Isn’t It weird that furnace said I will not fail you lord eggman. But eggman is a nickname that sonic uses to make eggman mad so why would one of his most loyal robot not call his his name?
Eggman took the nickname for himself as a way to mock at Sonic, like "y'know what? You can't make fun of me by calling me 'Eggman' anymore, this name actually sounds cool".

In canon, metal sonic wants to learn how to be like normal sonic and replace him. So it makes sense that metal is pissed off about eggman killing sonic. I love how you can almost feel metals rage in the illustration.

@@GoldiePlays69420Gp Metal didn't have a counter to going against robotnik until after sonic heroes, which is after the events of Sonic CD. This and the fact that metal is clearly faster than furnace and has a better power source, it's safe to say Metal could get the upper hand. (Hell, furnace literally runs out of juice mid-song in prey, the only reason he got ahead of sonic was because sonic slowed down to face robotnik.) If you think Furnace is faster than metal, look no further than what I just said about him being unable to catch up to sonic until after he'd slown down, but also that in Sonic CD metal is very capable of outrunning sonic, he is just as fast if not faster, and if he's falling behind he can overcharge himself and gain a huge boost of speed. Metal Sonic could beat Furnace, maybe not easily, but he can.
I mean Furnace is literally a rework of Metal to be less focused on speed/power in order to make room for the features of cooking mobians so Metal would in theory kick his ass

I like how this remix has tones of sadness and desperation. Furnace is on his last leg to defend his master while Metal Sonic is the unlikely savior that the true Mobius needs. And it accurately reflects if multiple Doctor Robotniks met. Their egos wouldn't allow them to get along. The real Doctor Robotnik would not allow his counterpart to devour the world HE is supposed to conquer.

While people are thinking that Metal and the original Badniks are the heroes trying to stop Starved and Furnace, I think they are trying to save Eggman. Metal knows that if Eggman continues on this path of gluttony, eventually he will meet his end. Not the kind of they're coming back once they recovered. No, like, the actual end of Eggman. The Badniks and especially Metal Sonic are loyal to the doctor, even as crazy he is, he is their creator. He is their Master, their King. Metal is Eggman's greatest and most loyal creation. Metal lives to serve Eggman. And he knows that Furnace is just feeding Starved's greed and pleasure to the point where he is no longer the same. But Metal is determined enough to save his creator. Even if has to save Eggman from himself. Good GOD I love Metal Sonic. Even with such a simple purpose in life, to protect, to serve, and to be ever loyal to his Master, he plays that role very well. He got sick of seeing his creator fail to see his dream because of Sonic. So, he would take over the world, disguise himself as Eggman, then put Eggman at the top as if he was always behind the scenes. Neo wouldn't even take credit, but give that to Eggman, even if he did it, thus explaining the Eggman disguise. But if this were to work, he would have to hurt his creator, just for a little bit, until everything was ready. Eggman had to trust Metal's plan, but he knew he too will fail, as he did. Neo was hurt, and he wanted to prove to his creator that I am his greatest creation that will see his dream through. It was a tough choice, to trap his creator, but soon he will understand the methods to his madness. However, I think Metal Sonic misunderstood Eggman's dream. If Eggman wanted to end Sonic permanently, he would of done that a long time ago. He had chances to do that, multiple times. There were a few times Eggman helped Sonic, and even a fewer times where he didn't even backstabbed him during those fights. It's more than just winning. Eggman wants to prove to that hedgehog that he was, is, and always will be the Surperior being. He can beat Sonic in his own game. The game being, Who is More Willing to Give Up, Or Continue After Failures to Deny Giving Up? As long Eggman and Sonic are alive, this game of Cat and Mouse will go on forever. And that, he enjoys. Cause if Eggman actually wins and ends Sonic... he'll end up in a Megamind scenario. Maybe I'm just humanizing Metal Sonic too much. Or maybe I just think Metal Sonic and other Metals of other characters are a really cool thing. Or I'm just biased and love Metal Sonic. Well, looking at the description of the video… Yeah no, it clearly states that Eggman sent Metal to “ Eliminate “ Starved. I don’t know why Metal would refuse to kill Starved considering he knows that Starved won’t stop at any cost, even if Starved lost everything. Plus that last screen shows Metal’s Intent to kill Starved to fulfill Dr. Eggman’s wishes of killing Starved. (Unless this whole entire thing is a joke, but I would assume it isn’t, cause who would take 10-20 minutes to write something for it to be a joke lol)
I listen to music and looking at the situation I do not want to guess that there is some kind of plot here. Yes, this is a confrontation, but planting yourself- the starving made a stove based on a metal mud (that is, its improved version, because it also overtakes Sonic at its high speed). But to be honest, I do not want to touch on the topic which of them is better. I always liked the metal-tsonika and the stove, I see no reason to compare them .. Moreover, these are two alternative robots and are not interconnected by any other than a background (making metal sonica is crazy rather dumb idea, I will not argue that it is able to respond by well another ... that is, except for the teams “grab Sonic!” And so on, however, it is really not very very ... It would have changed his appearance at least, it would be still justified)

I can 100% feel the rage in Metal. Despite how Sonic and Metal are they clearly have SOME kind of care for each other. Even going far for each other in the comics(More or less sonic). So I can guess Eggman sent Metal after finding out what Starved had been doing, feeling as if the hedgehog hadn't needed to die. And Metal upon arrival was LIVID due to his literal purpose(Sonic) dying. As well as frenemy
Yeah, Metal WANTS to kill Sonic but also wants to do it in a fair way, to show that HE is stronger and that HE will replace him. An example of this would be Metal literally RACING against Sonic and keeping up. The complete opposite is Furnace, which is weaker, yet killed Sonic due to him being distracted by Starved (which was Starved's whole plan to kill him in the first place).

If you pay attention to the turns that they're taking, you can notice that Furnace is in Dawn/BF's position and Metal is in Beelzebub's position. This suggests that Metal is on the offensive here and has the upper hand
Metal, having been fully built before Eggman had been driven to insanity due to his hunger. He was left, forgotten in Eggman's old lab. Due to Eggman redesigning his badniks to capture small animals to cook them alive, just to satiate his hunger. He saw the potential advantages that Metal had to finally capture and kill Sonic, Eggman had decided to redesign Metal into what would become, Furnace. Now, after the events of "Prey," some how, Metal had been found by Tails when he had invaded Eggman's Base in order to take revenge on the Doctor for killing his best friend, Sonic. Knowing Furnace would be a problem, Tails figured he would need a distraction. So he figured out how activate and reprogram Metal Sonic in order to handle Furnace while Tail's faced off against Eggman, during "Fight or Flight." Little did Tails know, Metal Sonic had been fully aware of everything that had occurred prior to his activation due to a psionic link he had to Furnace. So, his reprogramming was unneccessary due to the "rage" Metal felt towards Furnace for taking away any chance he had to prove he was the real sonic, and the fact that Eggman had basically replaced him with his inferior, "brother."

Its kinda implied in heroes and the IDW comics that Metal Sonic is delusional and genuinely believes he is the REAL sonic and that the actual real sonic is just a faker.
I love how un-robotic like metal sounds compared to furnace. Furnaces' single goal is to feed robotnik with no other signs of consciousness... metal on the other hand still thinks he's the real sonic. (Sad boi moment) so, furnace is kinda what metal would become if he didn't have a consciousness. I guess?
I like to imagine that this song starts with them both standing still for the lines, but after Furnace says "target spotted", Furnace starts to give chase after Metal, who simply levitates and flies backwards while they both sing, but then at the "You shall perish" part, they both stop, and suddenly, Metal turns it around and starts chasing Furnace, until eventually Furnace's power source runs dry, and he is forced to land, and Starved flies by with the egg-mobile, and that's the rest of the song
I like to imagine it more as, when the you shall perish comes around, it’s Metal tearing Furnace to shreds, seeing as he is slower than sonic and by proxy metal, only killing Sonic while he slowed for trash talk to starved, then him going and leaving starved’s fate unknown

I want to see Neo Metal Sonic rise to become the new hero. Eggmans original desire to rule, mixed with Sonics tenacity. A metal who knows he needs subjects to rule over, and feels a strange emptiness to care for those sonic cared for without him.
I like how, reading through the comments section it’s mainly talking about how Metal Sonic was replaced by Furnace/Furnace is a weaker version because he’s meant to cook. Furnace isn’t actually Metal Sonic. He’s a redesign of Mecha Sonic.

I’m not sure if this is intentional but I love how you kept the volcano backround as a refrence to the volcano from the 1996 sonic movie (I think it was sonic OVA the one that metal got burned in the volcano.) and what makes it better is that in the movie sure metal job was to straight up kill sonic BUT he sacrificed himself in the volcano and deny's Sonics help because he thinks they can only be one sonic. Not just he cares about him but after his death my guess is him thinking he’s the hero and then goes to fight furnace. It’s a really nice touch.

To many comments talking about saving starved eggman: it’s not. Read the author note for this video: Eggman sent Metal sonic on an intercept course to stop Starved Eggman. Nothing more to it. At least here, glad to know that Starved really Bit off more than he can chew in his ambition. He may have killed his sonic, but he won’t be able to escape his dimension to continue his ambition without Major Resistance blocking his every turn. Earlier, Furnace running into Shadow and Silver with his target was bad luck. Eggman sending an assassin later is just more icing on the cake.
I feel like that Eggman would have had to work with the Starved Universe's Tails to get Metal Sonic over there, so that would be how he'd know of the insanity of Starved Eggman

Metal Sonic was created before Starved was born, Starved kick Metal out and made Furnace to replace metal, after Sonic’s death Metal was filled with frustration to never defeat sonic to see who’s the real sonic, the remaining badniks (that were created before Eggman turned to Starved) and Metal knew something was wrong with their creator, their program was supposed assist Eggman to conquer the whole world not to devour everybody in the world. Their only option was to follow their program, conquer the world for Eggman and to do that, they need to stop him and turn him back to normal to continue conquering the world. The badniks and Metal found Starved new base which was Lava Reef Zone where a perfect place for Starved to cook any living creatures he collects and devour them, the good badniks did their best to destroy the bad badniks (the new badniks which are like Furnace) to go confront Starved, Metal was on the lead to where Starved was but stopped by a loathsome copy of himself that Starved created named *Furnace*. Both fought and Metal had the upper advantage because Metal was made for Combat except for Furnace who was made to capture animals and cook them, Metal destroyed Furnace and Metal confronted his “Creator” face to face, for the final showdown. @@FinalHopeTrio No, modern Sonic completely knows eggman's tactics and he 100% would know that eggman would capitalize on sonic's arrogance and cockiness, he's done this many times since modern sonic and eggman have fought for a long time, compared to classic sonic who has little experience in fighting eggman, which essentially means even if Metal fails modern sonic would most likely pulverize starved and furnace, if modern sonic can pretty much beat metal's ass every single time Furnace stands no chance, he'd get his his entire core imploded since furnace is literally weaker then metal sonic and plus he's a redesign of mecha, and modern sonic fought mecha before, making it even easier to beat both of them in probably no more then like 10-20 minutes.

Funni machine rapping Now that I think about it, Furnace doesnt have any energy Metal often shows that he can do many tricks with his energy (energy shields, blasts, use it to increase its own strength, etc) but furnace doesnt try anything like that, is legit just a flying furnace made wih a jet engine, it does seem like furnace has more physical armor (He has more metal (armor) and is also taller than metal sonic) however metal still wins due to being far more powerfull than a flying furnace (also metal sonic is probably smarter, but they are machines so idk (also part 2 metal sonic seems to have a lot better mobility, so he should be WAY FASTER than furnace, starved got dumber or what (or blinded by hunger maybe))) wth did I just do here
Let's say he got dumber as metal could kill sonic in cd but metal was made to surpass sonic but he want to see the dr built him right and only lost because he needs to prove surpass sonic.
So, after reading some comments, let me see if I understand the lore correctly: Furnace was tasked with killing Sonic, which he succeeded in doing, but since Metal looks similar to Sonic, Furnace is targeting him too. Metal Sonic's main goal is to surpass Sonic in every way, but with Sonic dead, he has no one to compare himself to, and thus he targets Sonic's killer, Furnace, who Metal views as a 'loathsome copy.' Since Metal Sonic is stronger than Furnace, he successfully defeats him, and moves on to target Starved, who I assume is the alternate Eggman that built Furnace. Do I have the story right? Can anyone confirm?
I like to think that this is an alternate timeline where metal sonic was already done when starved snapped and then he just used a similar technique to build furnace and seeing what his creator did metal fought back against him not because of the lives he's taken but because he abandoned his main goal for world conquest. According to canon(at least in the idw comics) it was stated that eggman Programed metal specifically for that purpose so even if his creator chose to abandon that goal his first instinct would be to fight back against him to go on his own.ether that or he's using that fact to remind eggman who he truly is "the eggman the one with the master plan."
Damn right. I like the idea of an alternative timeline where Metal Sonic is now fighting back against Robotnik's new obsession. In such scenario, Metal would be at his fittest as a character who wants to be the REAL SONIC, being the one who defeats such enemies would give him the glory of his purpose, specially if these enemies are the ones who killed his organic counterpart (Sonic).
Really great, but sometimes the voices kinda sound similar and blur in with each other. The music also sometimes overpowers the voices, not to the point where you can't hear the voices but to the point where it's noticeable. Other than that this is really good though.
Metal Sonic had snapped like a minute prior to that already so his anger is already building up, and i'd also assume he would image starved as eggman's "Loathsome copy"

This and the fact that metal is clearly faster than furnace and has a better power source, it's safe to say Metal could get the upper hand. (Hell, furnace literally runs out of juice mid-song in prey, the only reason he got ahead of sonic was because sonic slowed down to face robotnik.)
If you think Furnace is faster than metal, look no further than what I just said about him being unable to catch up to sonic until after he'd slown down, but also that in Sonic CD metal is very capable of outrunning sonic, he is just as fast if not faster, and if he's falling behind he can overcharge himself and gain a huge boost of speed. Metal Sonic could beat Furnace, maybe not easily, but he can.

I like how this remix has tones of sadness and desperation. Furnace is on his last leg to defend his master while Metal Sonic is the unlikely savior that the true Mobius needs. And it accurately reflects if multiple Doctor Robotniks met. Their egos wouldn't allow them to get along. While people are thinking that Metal and the original Badniks are the heroes trying to stop Starved and Furnace, I think they are trying to save Eggman. Metal knows that if Eggman continues on this path of gluttony, eventually he will meet his end. Not the kind of they're coming back once they recovered. No, like, the actual end of Eggman. The Badniks and especially Metal Sonic are loyal to the doctor, even as crazy he is, he is their creator. He is their Master, their King. Metal is Eggman's greatest and most loyal creation. Metal lives to serve Eggman. And he knows that Furnace is just feeding Starved's greed and pleasure to the point where he is no longer the same. But Metal is determined enough to save his creator.
Even if has to save Eggman from himself.

EDIT: Yes, I know about Sonic Heroes and what Metal did, but from my perspective and what I've seen in a few Sonic comics, Metal is doing this FOR Eggman. He believes that it's Eggman's dream to conquer the world because it would be in better care with him. But every time he tries, he fails over and over. He got sick of seeing his creator fail to see his dream because of Sonic. So, he would take over the world, disguise himself as Eggman, then put Eggman at the top as if he was always behind the scenes. Neo wouldn't even take credit, but give that to Eggman, even if he did it, thus explaining the Eggman disguise. But if this were to work, he would have to hurt his creator, just for a little bit, until everything was ready. Eggman had to trust Metal's plan, but he knew he too will fail, as he did. Neo was hurt, and he wanted to prove to his creator that I am his greatest creation that will see his dream through. It was a tough choice, to trap his creator, but soon he will understand the methods to his madness.
However, I think Metal Sonic misunderstood Eggman's dream. If Eggman wanted to end Sonic permanently, he would of done that a long time ago. He had chances to do that, multiple times. There were a few times Eggman helped Sonic, and even a fewer times where he didn't even backstabbed him during those fights. It's more than just winning. Eggman wants to prove to that hedgehog that he was, is, and always will be the Surperior being. He can beat Sonic in his own game. The game being, Who is More Willing to Give Up, Or Continue After Failures to Deny Giving Up? As long Eggman and Sonic are alive, this game of Cat and Mouse will go on forever. And that, he enjoys. Cause if Eggman actually wins and ends Sonic... he'll end up in a Megamind scenario.
Maybe I'm just humanizing Metal Sonic too much. Or maybe I just think Metal Sonic and other Metals of other characters are a really cool thing. Or I'm just biased and love Metal Sonic. If what I've said is actually what the cannon story is trying or I just misunderstood it completely, this head cannon I think, is pretty interesting and cool.
Well, looking at the description of the video… Yeah no, it clearly states that Eggman sent Metal to “ Eliminate “ Starved. I don’t know why Metal would refuse to kill Starved considering he knows that Starved won’t stop at any cost, even if Starved lost everything. Plus that last screen shows Metal’s Intent to kill Starved to fulfill Dr. Eggman’s wishes of killing Starved.

I listen to music and looking at the situation I do not want to guess that there is some kind of plot here. Yes, this is a confrontation, but planting yourself- the starving made a stove based on a metal mud (that is, its improved version, because it also overtakes Sonic at its high speed). But to be honest, I do not want to touch on the topic which of them is better. I always liked the metal-tsonika and the stove, I see no reason to compare them .. Moreover, these are two alternative robots and are not interconnected by any other than a background (making metal sonica is crazy rather dumb idea, I will not argue that it is able to respond by well another ... that is, except for the teams “grab Sonic!” And so on, however, it is really not very very ... It would have changed his appearance at least, it would be still justified)

If you pay attention to the turns that they're taking, you can notice that Furnace is in Dawn/BF's position and Metal is in Beelzebub's position. This suggests that Metal is on the offensive here and has the upper hand
which is canonically correct, because Furnace is the target here
Metal, having been fully built before Eggman had been driven to insanity due to his hunger. He was left, forgotten in Eggman's old lab. Due to Eggman redesigning his badniks to capture small animals to cook them alive, just to satiate his hunger. He saw the potential advantages that Metal had to finally capture and kill Sonic, Eggman had decided to redesign Metal into what would become, Furnace.
Now, after the events of "Prey," some how, Metal had been found by Tails when he had invaded Eggman's Base in order to take revenge on the Doctor for killing his best friend, Sonic. Knowing Furnace would be a problem, Tails figured he would need a distraction. So he figured out how activate and reprogram Metal Sonic in order to handle Furnace while Tail's faced off against Eggman, during "Fight or Flight."
Little did Tails know, Metal Sonic had been fully aware of everything that had occurred prior to his activation due to a psionic link he had to Furnace. So, his reprogramming was unneccessary due to the "rage" Metal felt towards Furnace for taking away any chance he had to prove he was the real sonic, and the fact that Eggman had basically replaced him with his inferior, "brother."

I like to imagine that this song starts with them both standing still for the lines, but after Furnace says "target spotted", Furnace starts to give chase after Metal, who simply levitates and flies backwards while they both sing, but then at the "You shall perish" part, they both stop, and suddenly, Metal turns it around and starts chasing Furnace, until eventually Furnace's power source runs dry, and he is forced to land, and Starved flies by with the egg-mobile, and that's the rest of the song
I like to imagine it more as, when the you shall perish comes around, it’s Metal tearing Furnace to shreds, seeing as he is slower than sonic and by proxy metal, only killing Sonic while he slowed for trash talk to starved, then him going and leaving starved’s fate unknown

I’m not sure if this is intentional but I love how you kept the volcano backround as a refrence to the volcano from the 1996 sonic movie (I think it was sonic OVA the one that metal got burned in the volcano.) and what makes it better is that in the movie sure metal job was to straight up kill sonic BUT he sacrificed himself in the volcano and deny's Sonics help because he thinks they can only be one sonic. Not just he cares about him but after his death my guess is him thinking he’s the hero and then goes to fight furnace. It’s a really nice touch.

To many comments talking about saving starved eggman: it’s not.
Read the author note for this video: Eggman sent Metal sonic on an intercept course to stop Starved Eggman. Nothing more to it. At least here, glad to know that Starved really Bit off more than he can chew in his ambition. He may have killed his sonic, but he won’t be able to escape his dimension to continue his ambition without Major Resistance blocking his every turn. Earlier, Furnace running into Shadow and Silver with his target was bad luck. Eggman sending an assassin later is just more icing on the cake.
I feel like that Eggman would have had to work with the Starved Universe's Tails to get Metal Sonic over there, so that would be how he'd know of the insanity of Starved Eggman

Metal Sonic was created before Starved was born, Starved kick Metal out and made Furnace to replace metal, after Sonic’s death Metal was filled with frustration to never defeat sonic to see who’s the real sonic, the remaining badniks (that were created before Eggman turned to Starved) and Metal knew something was wrong with their creator, their program was supposed assist Eggman to conquer the whole world not to devour everybody in the world. Their only option was to follow their program, conquer the world for Eggman and to do that, they need to stop him and turn him back to normal to continue conquering the world. The badniks and Metal found Starved new base which was Lava Reef Zone where a perfect place for Starved to cook any living creatures he collects and devour them, the good badniks did their best to destroy the bad badniks (the new badniks which are like Furnace) to go confront Starved, Metal was on the lead to where Starved was but stopped by a loathsome copy of himself that Starved created named *Furnace*. Both fought and Metal had the upper advantage because Metal was made for Combat except for Furnace who was made to capture animals and cook them, Metal destroyed Furnace and Metal confronted his “Creator” face to face, for the final showdown.

@@FinalHopeTrio No, modern Sonic completely knows eggman's tactics and he 100% would know that eggman would capitalize on sonic's arrogance and cockiness, he's done this many times since modern sonic and eggman have fought for a long time, compared to classic sonic who has little experience in fighting eggman, which essentially means even if Metal fails modern sonic would most likely pulverize starved and furnace, if modern sonic can pretty much beat metal's ass every single time Furnace stands no chance, he'd get his his entire core imploded since furnace is literally weaker then metal sonic and plus he's a redesign of mecha, and modern sonic fought mecha before, making it even easier to beat both of them in probably no more then like 10-20 minutes.

Metal often shows that he can do many tricks with his energy (energy shields, blasts, use it to increase its own strength, etc) but furnace doesnt try anything like that, is legit just a flying furnace made wih a jet engine, it does seem like furnace has more physical armor (He has more metal (armor) and is also taller than metal sonic) however metal still wins due to being far more powerfull than a flying furnace (also metal sonic is probably smarter, but they are machines so idk (also part 2 metal sonic seems to have a lot better mobility, so he should be WAY FASTER than furnace, starved got dumber or what (or blinded by hunger maybe)))

Furnace was tasked with killing Sonic, which he succeeded in doing, but since Metal looks similar to Sonic, Furnace is targeting him too.
Metal Sonic's main goal is to surpass Sonic in every way, but with Sonic dead, he has no one to compare himself to, and thus he targets Sonic's killer, Furnace, who Metal views as a 'loathsome copy.'
Since Metal Sonic is stronger than Furnace, he successfully defeats him, and moves on to target Starved, who I assume is the alternate Eggman that built Furnace.

I like to think that this is an alternate timeline where metal sonic was already done when starved snapped and then he just used a similar technique to build furnace and seeing what his creator did metal fought back against him not because of the lives he's taken but because he abandoned his main goal for world conquest. According to canon(at least in the idw comics) it was stated that eggman Programed metal specifically for that purpose so even if his creator chose to abandon that goal his first instinct would be to fight back against him to go on his own.ether that or he's using that fact to remind eggman who he truly is "the eggman the one with the master plan."

I like the idea of an alternative timeline where Metal Sonic is now fighting back against Robotnik's new obsession. In such scenario, Metal would be at his fittest as a character who wants to be the REAL SONIC, being the one who defeats such enemies would give him the glory of his purpose, specially if these enemies are the ones who killed his organic counterpart (Sonic).

Really great, but sometimes the voices kinda sound similar and blur in with each other.
The music also sometimes overpowers the voices, not to the point where you can't hear the voices but to the point where it's noticeable.
