Because I love to shop ,and I don't need anything, I shop for elderly people who can't. I consider it one of my fun volunteer jobs. 😊
That's very kind of you! Thank you 💜
How loving
That’s so wonderful ! ❤
I loathe shopping. I need some clothes! 😂😅 please send some
@@pennynickels5216 that would be a great way to do things.
Hello Dawn,
My friend and I went to a community garage sale today. We were able to discover new areas and get some exercise walking. I found a nice throw blanket for $5 that I plan to wash and cover some piece of furniture to keep cat hair off of the furniture. I bought 3 prepping knives with sheaths for $1 each. My suggestion is to help your neighbors community garage sales and maybe save money there than in the big box stores or online.
That is awesome! Love this
I am not a window shopper 😅
If i can't buy it I don't want to see it 😢😂
I belong to a quilt guild and we make quilts for philanthropy. Some examples are the military , hospitals and foster care to name a few. It’s fun because I get to sew with donated fabric and I don’t keep anything. Free fun and no clutter, as well as spread some love.
If you love being around people, maybe volunteer at a nursing home or homeless shelter?
If you love to cook and bake, maybe start a cooking or baking club?
This is why I do demos
I do check my checking, saving accounts and credit cards each morning. Good advice. Every time a credit card is used I get a text or email so I know if my spouse is using one. We have had our cards compromised so I look out for that.
I take water or a drink when I am in my car so I don't stop. I never buy food out as a snack.
I recently switched out 2 closets for the spring/summer season. I found I had forgotten about some clothes. I probably will not be shopping for new clothes. I found things to donate to thrift shop.I am now checking pantry and refrigator before we grocery shop. Thanks for your good advice.
Great tips
The public library has wonderful resources and activities and sometimes freebies to give away. It's also a great place to connect with others 😊
I agree
Our library has so much to offer- you can borrow canning supply equipment or learn a language or computer work. We have one of the last volunteer libraries in a large area. Only 2 “employees”. It’s wonderful.
@@Smooshes786
Where do you live???
@@pennynickels5216 right. Or I’m in BC Canada. Other times in California because Mum was there 40 years so me sometime as well. The Glendale and area libraries are great too!
We have a mostly volunteer public library. Only 1 full time person and a few part time people with many volunteers. It is in my small town with 2 larger library in the cities nearby. Most funding goes to salaries. Many books are donations.
Ty Dawn I always enjoy tuning in
This weekend decluttered the closet. Removed things to make room for clothes I actually need. Also donating worn athletic shoes that get recycled at a running store. De-owned clothes hangers of random colors and color coordinated the remaining 3 colors by closet or section so it gives a more cohesive look without any cost. Now off to work on a project as my entertainment and to learn some new skills; it isn't free but low cost, budgeted for. A bit intimidating, if it fails my backup plan is to paint over it. If it works, very empowering!! Tried cleaning my stainless fridge with a lemon and salt per YT idea instead of buying stainless cleaner. It left pulp and a smeary mess but then tried water/vinegar which is satisfactory for now.
Volunteer at something you enjoy. Something social like visiting HOspice or HOspital patients.
I am excited about this series. All 10 tips were fabulous. My top 3 favorites of all the tips were the following.
2nd runner up: Don't follow the crowd. A lot of people don't realize they don't have to do what others do. They do have the freedom to be unique.
1st runner up: Look for free things to do around the community. I take advantage of free or reduced-cost fun activities.
And the winner is: Create a wants & needs list; prioritize; color code. I love keeping track of what is needed & wanted. I love being organized. And I feel better if money is spent wisely and on things that make life richer & happier.
I adore you
A while ago I started to make cards for all occasions. It really saves money, even though dollar tree has cheap cards you still better off making your own and be creative. Have A Bless Sunday Everyone ❤
That's a great idea!
I would LOVE 💕 to receive a handmade card. Any correspondence is wonderful. I'm 74 and homebound🏠 waiting for joint replacements which may never happen. So discouraged and alone. Yes your handmade cards will mean the world to so many. Thank you for being a true artist. Love 💕 from Debbie 🙋 and Dexter-Dog 🐕🐾 my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern California.🙋🐕🐾🏠🧑🦽🌄🌴🌅🤟🏖️🏜️
Thank You so much for your sweet comment. My Daughter got me involved in card making, and gave me an enormous amount of supplies. I hope the weather is good out in southern Cal. We are getting our last cool day. Blessings and Peace to You.❤✨✌️
I don’t feel the same about a class ring. I’m glad we all got one. Such a memory years later.
Wonderful
Bringing snacks and or meal & drinks when out and about definitely saves $.
I used to eat before i went, but sometimes with traffic or when out longer than expected, I would get hungry and cave in and buy something.
I loved my high school and nursing school class rings back in the 80s. My children did not want high school class rings
Whenever i try to declutter i find stuff i havent used in forever and convince myself that as soon as i get rid of this thing, then i will need it. (Why do i have all these old cables laying around? Do i really plan on hooking a VCR up anytime soon?)
I totally understand
I have this issue. Something that helps me is to keep it all categorized and organized AND inventoried, so I don't keep buying more of that tool I rarely use because I don't remember I already own one, or just can't find it.
We live out in the middle of nowhere so shopping around for things is a waste of time and fuel. So, I shop online BUT I always will put things in my shopping cart and let it stay there a day or a week. 90% of the time, I don’t buy it or I’ll wait a few weeks or a month or so. 😊
I want to vist you
I do the same with purchases.
Great tips! My husband is out of town taking care of his sister, so I'm trying to eat what we have on hand. The urge to pick up something to eat is very strong, but I'm doing okay so far. We check our accounts daily since our checking account was hacked. I'm just trying to keep up with laundry and cleaning the house, so I don't need a hobby right now. lol. I'll need to clean out the closets in one of the guest rooms as well as remove the furniture. My husband plans on bringing his sister here when she's released from the hospital. I'm taking it a little at a time. Love to all, Linda 💕
I totally understand. I sometimes do not want leftovers
You made me laugh about the class ring. I remember getting my class ring at Walmart because it was so much cheaper than the company that comes to the school. 😂
Good one
Awe thanks for the shoutout Dawn. That is super sweet of you. You also said my name right which people I've worked with for over a decade still can't get right lol, good job 👏 I actually still have my class ring but it has my birthstone in it but you are right, I probably didn't need to get it 😆 Can't wait to see the next part. 💞
I am so very glad
You are so welcome
I have just learned that most of our food has sawdust in it ..oh my gosh. Im going to change my diet!!!!! They call it cellulose but it is really sawdust. A CUCUMBER a day keeps the doctor away. I didn't KNOW that either
Wow
I ALWAYS STICK TO MY SHOPPING LIST WELL MOST OF THE TIME LOL LYNN 😊
I thought it was an apple a day!
I want to stay a member but every video is how to cut costs on a budget. You can only trim your budget so much, there has to be other topics you can do? I've heard all of these before on your channel a bunch of times. Thank you Money Mom :)
She's also mentioned earning more money, perhaps that information would be more useful in your situation.
Thank you
I feel I do a variety of topics
@@3TXSisters I work 48 hrs a week already and have trimmed my budget. I saw her recommendation for jobs but they pay about $5 less per hr than mine, require more days to commute too. That might be a good topic she can start, what do you do for a living and how does your job save you $? Maybe go beyond herself in videos inciting good comments so we can read those. Thanks, hope you all have a great day
@@MelissaCoup Wow, you're a hard-working woman! Those are good ideas.
Same story for you and I and our kiddos with the class rings.
another good one!! so important to check our accounts/balance, lots of free activities, garden/nature club, senior centers, library, volunteer, and UA-cam is a great teacher, I also find visiting with friends a great activity, going old school, no fuss no frills, sit around the table chatting or outside in the backyard, a cup of coffee maybe a cookie and we're happy,
Thanks for sharing!!
I WINDOW-shop as a hobby. :-)
You amaze me how you keep coming up with new tips
Glad you like them!
Good ideas!
Glad you like them!
Do you find carrying drinks and snacks with you makes you drink or eat more. It does me. I don’t have the willpower to resist.
Not really
I've never thought about it that way. I just don't want to try to find a drink or a snack when I can bring one from home.
hello............ a great share 😊😊😊😊, great tips thank you , for sharing🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰............
Thanks for visiting
I need a class on organization skills, or find someone to do things for me! (sigh...) 😞😟😲
There on tons on You Tube
Clutterbug is a good channel. There are others, I just can't think of them right away.
Take a hydroflask with you for a drink for the car when running errands. You could even bring a snack too.
so smart
I can’t thank you enough for sharing removing the tree from your place. We had 3 that we got taken down. 2 were dangerous! We can breathe now! I know exactly how that felt. Wouldn’t have pushed until your share.
That is wonderful
I'm so glad both of you had the trees removed before they caused damage to your home.
@@3TXSisters there were spots in the yard I wouldn’t go. The large branch on the biggest maple had cracked. It’s great now! Hope you both are having a fine day there today!
@Smooshes786 Wow, that was dangerous. Glad you were able to get it taken down so you can enjoy your whole yard!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks MM ...all great tips
Very welcome
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
