Just got a coffee tweed case for a Kanile’a concert to live it. Complements another wood case from HMS I have in cognac suede. Totally worth the shipping cost from Hawaii to the mainland.
They say that someone brings out the best in an instrument. But with Corey and Kalei, the instrument (and Andrew) brings out the best in them. Always entertaining, always interesting and always worth an attentive listen. 😊
Boy, I haven’t been a soprano player, but that Koaloha longneck pineapple could change my mind. It sounds terrific. I enjoyed listening to all of these gorgeous instruments. Thank you Andrew, Kalei, and Corey for another interesting and enjoyable podcast. Mahalo for the music, Guys!
Man the more I here those Koolau ukuleles the more I love them. To me they are one of if not the best sounding Ukes. But then again you guys make everything sound awesome. Andrew you do awesome recording every one on your show.
Six episodes in 2 weeks! Thank you! Always a pleasure to listen to you all. Mahalo as always. It appears Kanile'a is bringing back the Oha line. Would love for you guys to carry the Oha Tenor again.
I play all three of the highlighted “Hawai’an Ks”: Kamaka (tenor, concert, and soprano), Kanile’a (super tenor and concert), and KoAloha (tenor, concert, and soprano). As to the other “K,” I also play Ko’olau “cousin” Pono (baritone and tenor). Each have their unique sound. I love them all. It is always cool to hear great players like Corey and Kalei show us the best each delivers.
❤ Hello Andrew, Corej and Kalei, another wonderful and enjoyable Podcast. I like your comparison Videos very much. To hear these K-Brand Ukes back to back and hear your opinion about it is so interessting. The Ko'olau CS Bearclaw Spruce in the new Oahu Brown krokodile like leather Case - wow - its something that I am dreaming of ✨ But - all of the Instruments you are showing are really beautiful, like Kalei says, each of them have something special which make them different from another in a positive way! Like the Kamaka HF2 Concert with the stock strings more and more. I remember a video where you put a lowG on it and it sounds superb. And I never had a baritone on my Wishlist and now I am attached from both of them, the Kamaka and the Kanilea one. The Kamaka sound is so sweet and lush 😍 My conclusion 😊: The best would be to have a room where all of these Ukes are hanging on the wall so that I can pick one of them every day. And on one day in the week Corej and Kalei are giving a concert for me and friends. Thanks so much for another incredible video, stay safe and healthy and be blessed from Germany, Bettina
Mahalo for gracing us with your great podcasts. They are always fun, informative and full of beautiful music. I like the tone of the Ko’olau Bearclaw but must admit I have always been partial to the sound of tenors.
Always love your vids from HMS - I have a few KoAlohas from you guys - and enjoyed hearing the KoAloha tenor RP koa with the high g. Works well for a nice balance. Thanks!
Love that Baritone-Samples. They also go great together with those Jazz-Standard-Evergreens such as La Vie au Rose (was it?)…. Love to see more of those as tutorials! Mahalo 🤙
I always enjoy hearing a good concert ukulele; it has a happy tone but can still be a bit more versatile than a soprano in my hands. As always, hats off to you guys.
Overall all the sizes are the best sound quality with their own unique personality. I have Kamaka and Kanile’a but the one that makes me feel so interested is KoAloha with its clear, deeper, romantic sound. It’s the only one that is missing in my “K” collection. I won’t stop until I get one before my last breath.
thanks for your inspirations aspirations and dreams of owning a top quality gear and ukulele's and the sound samples, one day my son will follow our family's tradition and be a ukulele player.
@@HawaiiMusicSupplyTUS I bet! Even the cheapest model Andrew has designed them really well, love the idea of the Kangaroo pouch. Anyway wished I lived closer, I need some gigbags.
I was really impressed by the difference between the Kanile'a and Kamaka baritone. I've got a Kamaka baritone at home and at times miss a bit of clarity and overtones. Is that all in the strings? What kind of strings would you recommend? I believe I've got the UKE LOGIC Baritone "HARD TENSION" string set strung up at the moment.
Speaking from experience, the Oahu leather cases are the best! Would have loved to have seen the Mango Royal Pikake on this episode, but I’m sure we’ll see it soon enough!
The Kanile’a DXL sounds like it has an electric hookup, very bright singing tones. 🤙🤙Must be a Kanile’a trait, because the Baritone ukulele has that built in reverb sound, too. I have always been a Kamaka fan, but now I have something else to listen to that is just as appealing, but in a very different way 🥰
The Kamaka concert sounds heavenly, particularly when in the hands of such talented players. Is the sheet music for that arrangement of La Vie en Rose posted someplace?
Does Corey have Uke Lessons / Tutorials? I love his playing, he really inspires me to play and I love the breakdown at 5:10. Thanks always for the great content!
there really is a need for good quality cases and those all fit the bill......the abs/fibreglass versions are the best looking I have seen outside the professional ranges and I know from experience they provide the same level of protection for a fraction of the cost......
How hard is it to have the opportunity to buy a custom Koolau tenor? Your vids give me the inspiration for acquiring one like it. Please put me on the list I'll start saving for it. The $100 award will make a nice start!
"Here's a beautiful Kamaka ukulele! ...And here's a beautiful Kamaka ukulele with strings people won't complain about!" All the K-Brands are good in any size! My only beef is the KoAloha sopranos have this big sound that doesn't really come off as soprano-like. Still fantastic, but not really what I want from a soprano. Wish you had a Kanile'a soprano for us to hear. I also don't know anything about Ko'olau, so it's cool having them side by side with the other K-brands in this vid.
I need one of those Koaloha Royal Pikake concerts and some Hawaiian sunshine. Getting cold in Ohio and glad to have these videos to get through the bad weather seasons.

You won the $100 store credit! Email andrew@theukulelesite.com with your customer email. Congrats!

I look forward to hearing Kalei and Corey play every week. Thank you for the beautiful playing and all the demos!
It's great to hear all those Ukes in comparison. Too much to love there.
Love the review of the Gig bags. Very helpful and thank you.
Love the Koaloha depth, so warm!
Always enjoy the samples and playing by the guys. Commentary too. Enjoyable videos

Man, that Ko’olau Bearclaw was really something else. Loved Kalei’s rendition of Can’t Take My Eyes Off You. Really amazing stuff guys!
That green purfling has me ogling!!
I love this song and have been looking all over for this and here it is!!! Mahalo love you guys!
I really liked this episode comparing the different "K" ukes. Good to hear the same modes with nylon vs fluorocarbon!
Appreciate the discussion on strings - I put worth clear fluorocarbons on my HF3 ; will try Koolau Aho strings at the next change . Thank you !
Man the more I here those Koolau ukuleles the more I love them. To me they are one of if not the best sounding Ukes. But then again you guys make everything sound awesome. Andrew you do awesome recording every one on your show.
Thanks so much for the in-depth comparison. It’s great to see the wide variety to choose from.

Man, all I can do is Smile. What a feast for the eyes and ears. 👏👏👏
Oh my goodness guys, you did an awesome job with a Kelley Anne. Love the Bossa nova groove.
Love the episodes showcasing so many great ukes

So many episodes recently we are so lucky 😍 Kelley Anne is such a beautiful song!
Loved the back to back comparisons of the K brands. Like the Kamaka in the Soprano, the Concert Koaloha and the Kanilea Tenor.
Love these podcasts and look forward to each weekly edition. BTW, I have three HMS ukes so far!
Mahalo Jack!
When I want to relax. I just listen to you guys! Thank you! 💜
Mahalo for gracing us with your great podcasts. They are always fun, informative and full of beautiful music. I like the tone of the Ko’olau Bearclaw but must admit I have always been partial to the sound of tenors.
The koalau spruce tenor ukulele sounds heavenly. The shimmering overtones and deep bass does it for me.
Always love your vids from HMS - I have a few KoAlohas from you guys - and enjoyed hearing the KoAloha tenor RP koa with the high g. Works well for a nice balance. Thanks!
Yes! Many mahalos for your support and kind words Jill!
Always enjoy what you bring to my day. I personally enjoy the baritone comparisons, but everything you bring is great.
I love the sound of the Koalohas and Koolau.
thank you so much.
always a pleasure to turn my speaker as the highest volume.
Loved the podcasts as always. That K1-B is something else. Mahalo!
Love that Baritone-Samples. They also go great together with those Jazz-Standard-Evergreens such as La Vie au Rose (was it?)…. Love to see more of those as tutorials! Mahalo 🤙
One gorgeous uke after another! I'm saving up for my next acquisition. 😊
I always enjoy hearing a good concert ukulele; it has a happy tone but can still be a bit more versatile than a soprano in my hands. As always, hats off to you guys.
Oh baby! Ukulele time ! Mahalo 💓
You all are so amazing! Thank you for sharing your talents.
Love the sound of that Kamaka baritone!
Always beautiful , thank you ,🙏🏻
Awesome stuff guys.
Kamaka hf-4 sounds amazing. Love your channel
Another cool episode. I’d write more but gotta go practice some diminished chords!
Great review Loving the Baritone 🙂🙂
All of the ukes sound wonderful, but I'm a sucker for those baritones. Thanks for the comparison video!
Beautiful music! Thanks for the sale email notice on all the Hawaiian ukuleles. Tempting!
That Kanilea Baritone sounds sweet!

These cases are pretty awesome!
Jus like walking into a limo...

Heaven: when Corey and Kalei nail the note’s tone that one anticipates
Kamaka baritone and long neck pineapple!
Speaking from experience, the Oahu leather cases are the best! Would have loved to have seen the Mango Royal Pikake on this episode, but I’m sure we’ll see it soon enough!

Kamaka Koa Tenor Fl-C strings was my favorite.
Love the Kanile'a baritone!
I would probably use my gift card on the ko'olau.
The Kamaka concert sounds heavenly, particularly when in the hands of such talented players.

Yeah he has some on our Membership at The Ukulele Site. We will be putting more up too. It's a $50 a year membership with other benefits too. Mahalo!
Great musician! Bravo! Mahalo😅
That CS-O is gawjuss!
Bravo !!A talent musician, it sounds so clear and happy ! Loved how well you play! Where can find the prices of the instruments? Thank you ❤😊
there really is a need for good quality cases and those all fit the bill......the abs/fibreglass versions are the best looking I have seen outside the professional ranges and I know from experience they provide the same level of protection for a fraction of the cost......
My fav would be the long neck kamaka pineapple

The Kamaka with the stock set makes Kamaka sound like a Kamaka.

Actually I'm all about that Oahu leather case 🤩oh yes it's too Purdy
Love those baritones
Will there ever be an option for a dual gig bag?
What were the two main songs he played?
I'm in the market for a case and I appreciated the non-musical content.
I love you
Baritones sound so nice, too bad they're so big. Aloha kakou
I need one of those Koaloha Royal Pikake concerts and some Hawaiian sunshine. Getting cold in Ohio and glad to have these videos to get through the bad weather seasons.
I wonder how a Kanilea super tenor would have compared to other tenors.
Equal 1st to koaloha and kanilea 3rd to kamaka. I am finding the newer Kamaka ukes disappointing
and maybe an option to fit an iPad in your case
Soprano cases?!?! ❤️😭
Even Corey was surprised when it was in hands!
Olive :)
I wish I were rich, so I could have one of each! 😂🤣
