- Join me on a peaceful night walk through Honmachi (with a cheeky lighting storm in the background too)! The settings for this video will be listed below.
Battery Drain: 83% to 72% over the course of the entire recording (huge improvement over the 1IV imo)
Lens: 24mm
Profile: S-Cinetone for mobile
Format: 4K
Stabilization: Off (using a motorized gimbal)
FPS: 59.94
WB: Auto
Shutter: 1/60 (not following 180 rule since it is dark and I'm trying to maximize light gathering)
Input volume: 5
Eye/Face AF: Off
Auto ISO (hitting 6400 max)
AE level: 0
Output volume: 17
Product Showcase: Off
Focus Peaking: Off (not sure how much extra strain this puts on processing)
Intelligent Wind Filter: Off
Mic: Stereo Recording (as opposed to the rear mic for "voice priority")
Ambient temps were at 28°C, I didn't get any heat pop-ups or warnings, and no feature throttling or screen refresh rate throttling. My refresh rate is always set to 120fps. After recording, the rear of the device was evenly warm, including the notched edges, meaning heat dissipation throughout the whole body has been much improved on the V generation. CPU temps were in the mid to high 50°, but within a minute or two cooled completely back down. The rear was quite warm to the touch, but nowhere near the 1IV when I did walks with it. Like I mentioned, within a min or two, the rear felt totally normal. I'm super happy to be achieving this performance with the new design and chipset.
Thank you for watching!

Be sure to check the video description for settings! Also at 15:12 you can see the lightning in the distance
Just beautiful. Very relaxing ☺️ please make more of these nightwalks, also on 21:9
What type of microphone do you use for Xperia 1 V? I've tried to use Sony wireless UWP- d21 to connect to Xperia 1 V, but it is not working even when I use a TRS to TRRS adaptor from RODE. I was wondering if any of your Xperia uses external Microphones?
I have a couple different ones I use! Sometimes the DJI wireless mic system. I have a "Comica" branded TRRS cable that works with my phone. I also have the Shure MVL lav mic that works directly plugged into the Xperia
Recently I tried recording a video in low-light on my Xperia 1 II. The result was garbage whereas this video looks fine. I assume you owned X1II, how much of an improvement is X1II in terms of videography? Maybe I just messed up some settings of lenses were dirty…
In terms of video the 1V is a significant improvement over the 1II. I did have the 1II as well, and without a doubt the 1V is better in every aspect (except maybe telephoto lens, I don't remember how the 1II was)
Look so smooth and well balance I love it Xperia made in Japan. I also using Xperia 1iv now...
The 1IV is great!
He's using a gimbal, the phone isn't doing anything.
SONY ❤️ 🇯🇵 👑
Hi what is the mode of the camera auto or manual, thanks
Thanks for watching! Manual, but ISO was set to auto
Thanks for the reply, the auto mode of the device will get a great photo and video,?
haven't dual base ISO???
Bro which gimbal are you using
It's the Zhiyun Crane M2S
@@ShibiChan thank you... how is the phone BTW
@@amalramesh1983 I love it! Definitely going to be making more content on it
@@ShibiChan looking forward to it bro
I love the walks, thanks for sharing!😊
What a great night walk after the rain. Thank you for sharing.
Does anyone know if there is a technical term for the blueish noise at the side of the picture on dark scenes?
It's called crap processing. It's simply the noise from the sensor. It reminds me of old Nokia phones :D They did the same in low-light, except they were green, and MUCH MUCH cheaper. This video "quality" at this price range is unfathomable...
Beatiful city, great camera, amazing content ❤ especially the guy playing the saxophone (not sure if it was a saxophone) made me smile 😊
Thank you! And yes the sax guy was great, I heard him playing so that's why I decided to go that way 😬
so overall do you think it's better than iv in case of shooting and recording?
Absolutely! Better in every regard
When I use S-Cinetone everything has a yellowish tint to it.
I've had it happen once or twice but not consistently in the times I've been using it!
Lightning in the background !
It still amazes me these camera phones capture such incredible footage straight from the device, At night too!
I think it handles different light pretty well , it does bump up ISO but transitions are really smooth on the whole, as You've mentioned lots of room to experiment with settings.
Japan certainly looks amazing anytime of the day .
Grear demo and mini tour .
Sky details at the 12.45 mark .
Sound quality also is really good.
The mkIV video always looks very good but again noticible lack of noise in comparison.
Looking forward to the next installment!
Thanks for watching! If I kept the ISO under 3200 I think it would've looked great. I'm happy with how high I can push it compared to the 1IV.
Japan is definitely beautiful! I plan on showing it off more for sure
@@ShibiChan plenty more time to try new things , I've seen the new bokeh mode from the Xperia 5 MkV is coming to the Xperia 1 MKV via firmware along with the video creator app so definitely looking promising for future improvements and things to try .
Great video! I love these walks. The video looks good. At times I'd say the auto ISO is a little high in darker scenes (for my taste anyway) but to be fair i think all phones do that. Impressive results for 60fps too.
Yeah auto iso meant it would go up to 6400 a lot. Honestly up until like 3200 I think it looks really good. I didn't do any extra post processing on the video, so I'm sure if I applied some extra noise reduction and such then I could push it a little further
@@ShibiChan it's good that you haven't done work on the footage as I wanted to see what the camera does by itself. The fact it holds the image together that well at iso that high is impressive. Thumbs up from me.
