Sorry for the lapse in content recently. I took a much needed holiday out of country and used that time to both relax and also help recenter. Don't forget your mental health everyone!

I don't think it's a big deal not to have 48mm mode, because the sensor uses Quad-Bayer filter which means the effective resolution is 12 MPx and when you use 2X crop, you end up with upscaled 3 MPx photo. It's useless if they don't have sensor shifting to get more details in the shot.

Ive testing now the 1 VI for 2 weeks now. And i am impressed with the Battery life the heat management is better than on my S24 Ultra. What was actually before the 1 VI the coolest and best battery life phone. But the 1 VI kicked my S24U. To photography i see some improvements when not much compared to my 1 V, but their are improvements. Especially seflie video and video alll around. Macro shots coming by me out pretty good. And very impressive too. And now i compare the macro with my Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, that is to this moment still the macro king. All around i think the 1 VI is in terms of battery heat management and some camera improvements are pretty solid phone. But would i upgrade from are 1 V? I think no. But the new form factor i kinda like the wider screen ratio. But its also taste 😅i think the 1 VI is worth for people that are Sony fans but dont have the 1 V already. Or for people that wilm try are sony smartphone. But for me the big pros are heat management and battery life. By me it goes up to 4 Days with 5h38min. Of SoT. I also like the colors on the display of the 1 VI against my 15 Pro Max and my other phones it holds pretty good up sometimes also better. I make are first impressions after almost 11 days on my X account. @Fujiwar79319671
But i also understand your video and i agree with you for that kind of price and that little changes is it sad. I would price the 1 VI about 900 to 990. Or 850 would be perfect.

@@luziferhell5768 I definitely agree, and tried my best to come across clearly in the video.
I'm not saying the device is trash or anything like that, it's just that for the price they charge, it's ridiculous.
The longer battery life is definitely a major plus, and like I mentioned, I'd rather the 1V have a 1080p screen for that improvement as well.
At $850 this video would've been a complete opposite! I'd be praising them!

The main reason why I wouldn't buy Xperia phone is, the gap between between 24mm and 85mm focal length of main camera and telephoto camera is too big. Also, it doesn't make sense to stick to single exposure approach to photography while at the same time using smaller sensors than the competition.
If I was making a smartphone for photographers and content creators, I would go with 20mm, 35mm (or 40mm) and 85mm focal lengths. The sensors would be as big as possible to fit a camera bump similar to Nokia 808 camera bump. I would put a Xenon flash with a diffuser. Instead of using single exposure, I would make sensors that support staggered HDR and use those two simultaneous exposures to boost the dynamic range. And I would never use high resolution Quad-Bayer filter, because it's only purpose is to help the marketing team. I would stick to 12 MPx sensor.

The price IS overkill. Ever since I switched from Samsung to the 1 V there are simple features I miss which the 1 VI also omits. The increased width of the 1 VI is also a negative for me, I'd rather a downsized version if they want that aspect ratio.
I do like the advertised increased brightness because I find it hard to see the 1 V screen in direct sunlight. But other than that there's nothing to tempt me.

Apple doesn't innovate at all, and Google just works on software. I do think it was foolish of them to ditch the 4k screen, but at least they kept the headphone jack and expandable storage, which are two massive wins for me personally. They did innovate with the continuous zoom camera, which to my knowledge, is the only phone that offers that.

@@dtay8913 I agree that in concept the continuous zoom is innovative, but the fact that they charge a premium for it is not okay imo. 10 times out of 10, shooting the Xperia at the fastest f-stop then cropping into the desired focal length will yield a better result than if you used the variable zoom. You get less light the further you zoom, and more moving parts leads to much for room for error. This likely plays a large part in the streaking seen from point light sources when using the telephotos since the 1IV. So to me it doesn't feel much like an innovation, and more like a gimmick

Its a conscious decision made ny Sony, they are in the business of selling components, not devices. The Xperia exist just as a metric to measure their components at.
If they were to make a better phone than Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and the like. Then they would buy sensors from somone else like Omnivision, or GPixel.
Meaning whatever they gained with selling more capable xperias they lose in revenue overall since they will sell a TON LESS components to the other millions of phpnes that are sold each year

@@CallMeRabbitzUSVI they wont buy form other manufactureres if sony made the best phone lol. they view them as a competitor same as everyone else. there is a reason why even when samsung has best panels for themselves others use samsung. xperia and sony semi are different divisions and rarely communicate.

I would rather say that their design division would never allow such clunky photographic devices like those camera phones. It would defeat 50 years of building that distinctive elegant functional design. Sony is also the last producer of 1 inch sensor point and shoot cameras and such a phone would render those even more obsolete than they are now.
Also, maybe they are also working on the successor of the Pro-I.
