I thought the same thing. The dialogue alone is enough reason to not give this show the time of day.
I can't BELIEVE the dialogue in this abortion. The idea that people on Eternia talked like tik tok-ers. It's beyond stupid. And that's just the dialogue. I am like 50 and grew up with MOTU,and this would break my heart if I weren't so conditioned to expect it.

I think they showed the kidnapping of Adora because Hordak abandoned Skeletor and he felt betrayed. It was a whole flashback of Skeletor's relationship with Hordak.

As much as I would love to see Adora/She-Ra be with her brother again, with this writing, I think it's best she stays out of it. Maybe one day we can have the twins together again with no rights issues and good writing.

The scene of Hordak kidnapping Adora makes perfect sense to be included because it is supposed to fuel Skeletor's hatred of Hordak. We are left to assume that this scene is exactly the same as it was in Secret of the Sword where Hordak has Adora and is abandoning Skeletor to get away. The only real questions are, is it even worth including Adora to the story anymore now that Randor is dead and without Teela's mom will the spell of forgetfulness be broken?
I think the writers do not understand the magic/technology/science dynamic. What made Eternia cool was the ability of magic, science, and technology to exist together. There was no conflict.

theres shreds of a good story being trampled on by a hoard (pun intended) of stupidity.
It really feels like this series had multiple writers. It’s like someone had a good idea, then someone else came back and “edited” it in order to get either check boxes or drama. I know most shows have multiple writers, but they are normally more in sync with each other.

Yes, Stondar was in She-Ra but he (as well as the male members of the Evil Horde) were part of the MOTU toy line. So it's a loophole for them to be able to use them. To be fair to Kevin Smith he claims to be a catholic so I don't think he's dunking on religion.
Just because one professes to practice a certain religion, doesn't mean they actually do so or understand what they’re practicing. But, I also don’t follow celebs or famous people that closely so unless they directly state it, I tend to not know what religion if any they practice. 🤷♀️
Maybe he grew up Catholic for a bit or something? The Catholic Church considers one a lifelong Catholic if they were baptized in the Church, even if they end up falling away later in life.
Also, I think exploring and tackling different religious, philosophical, cultural, spiritual, etc topics can be interesting and positive overall, but one should normally be careful when presenting the other side and be respectful in the execution. There’s some limits of course, though teeny edgelord “religion is for chumps!” displays fall more into the face palming category.

When I watched the original cartoon as a kid, I always thought the women of the show looked like my grade school teachers because of their cheek bones. Some how, the women designs for this season of the show... still reminds me of my grade school teachers because of their cheek bones.

There has been a growing concern how writers seem to treat magic these days. The earliest example I can think of when it started popping up was in Star vs the Forces of Evil where the show concluded that magic is all corrupting and root of all evil and it had to be destroyed and it was really stupid in my opinion especially since it caused a MASSIVE GENOCIDE that it just glosses over for some reason. That was more like coming to the conclusions the nukes just existing is the root of evil so instead of targeting the people that have them or to deactivate them in safe way that protects everyone just immediately detonate them all instead and gloss over the millions that'll die in their immediate radius.

They seem to have forgotten that (per them) the facade of Castle Grayskull is supposed to be an illusion for the Hall of Wisdom. So I don't understand how Motherboard can mechanize its facade like she did, unless the mechanized facade is also an illusion. (Granted, Castle Grayskull was destroyed at one point during Revelation, but they don't clarify that the illusion is no longer valid).
I also think it is rather convenient that they were able to conquer Castle Grayskull because no one was watching it. There was a reason the Sorceress was not allowed to leave the castle often. (Teela, ahem, we're looking at you. You couldn't even ask someone to "castle sit" while you were gone, and, no, your mother's ghost doesn't count 😒)

When I hear Motherboard, I think of Cyberchase. You know I’d rather watch that than this show.
I loved Cyberchase and yes, it's a much better show than Revolution.
When I hear Motherboard I can't help but think of Motherbox from DC used by Darkseid and the New Gods.

I mean this season was just a rip off of the llanned 3rd season of the 2002 series, nothing more except Hordak and the Horde are technologicql, where as in the 2002, the Horde were magic based, and that Hordak fought his own battles.
If this crap gets another season I can see him ripping of the SnakeMen arc from season 2 of the 2002 He-Man series

As per-usual. They bring back a He-man Voice actor(Cam Clark who was Adam/He-Man) just to kill him off in seconds. Boy, this sure feels like first part.
Every time Skeletor speaks, I can't hear him. All I hear is Joker. Look Mark. If you want to keep playing the Joker, no one will begrudge you, but if you're going to voice other characters - At least Try not to be Joker.
The only thing to take away from this episode is that Andra is a self-serving moron. It would be really awkward if she decided to run to be a governing official after a blunder like this.

Why are they pushing this anti-magic stance, where in Revelations, they made it very clear that magic is essential in the Universe?
Religion is one of the things fantasy struggles to deal with a lot. The vast majority of creators can't prevent their 21st century atheist point of views to bleed on their work, so you have characters making points about religion that make absolutely no sense in the world they found themselves to be.
Just look at Critical Role, a rpg campaign which takes place in a world that gods are real, very present and have very little in common with real life christiany, but the players bend over backwards to level the same criticism and skepticism they have against real life christianity against the gods of the setting, even though they have undeniable proof they are real and good natured.
Best part is when they have multiple gods and spirits, but they still just make it pseudo-catholicism. Despite how monotheistic and polytheistic faith would have radically different traditions/rituals. It's just really obvious that they never got over their parents making them wake up early on a Sunday.
How was the 80s more progressive than now?

Thanks to your videos, I just realized that he-man is acting the same way he did in the first season, goofy dumb mistakes that make no sense to his character and no normal human being that's intelligent would do.
Ngl, I'm _kind of_ confused on whether the showrunners want to make Keldor and Skeletor the same person. Contrast with the 2002 show, where we're _explicitly shown_ that Keldor is who Skeletor was in the past, before his face melted. It seems like these writers are gauging the audience reaction so they can decide what to do. Which isn't... a good idea, truth be told. You're not supposed to change plot points *as you're airing your show,* you're supposed to brainstorm and outline these things first so you don't write yourself into a corner later and have to pull a plot contrivance out of your behind. Idk, that's just how it comes off to me. Everything in this new He-Man indicates that they stopped at the first draft.
And ah, yes, it isn't a [CURRENT YEAR] production without some half-baked anti-Christ imagery.
Arcanum did magic vs technology better, and that is another world where both exist simultaniously. Technology works with the physical world, and magic works by manipulating the world, and while people can use both to a degree, the more someone goes to one side or the other the more the opposite will fail. Spells fizzle out, machines break on their own, and so forth. None of this complete denial after being shown unequivical proof nonsense.

This series looks more like a fanfic by someone who didn’t see the original He man and had zero interest making an entertaining series using he man. It’s 2018 Shera princesses of power with nicer animation but this it in my opinion.

So what was even the point of changing Skelitor’s backstory like to make him this skull headed being from another dimension? They did it in the MOTU Revelation comic book. But that version was sympathetic. Not at all like they had him on the show.
So why change it at all? Especially if you’re just going to throw it away.
I’m also not a fan of this Inner Keldor persona teaming up with Slelitor. If there both the same person then just have Skelotor remember his past and act on his own. Him constantly needing a pep talk from this other persona makes it seem like he’s incapable of acting on his own. Which doesn’t make him look good.

If you are going to do an original story, use original characters.

I am very intrigued about she-ra inclusion to this series which that should be interesting.
Technically, they didn't include She-Ra, and I don't think they can, since Mattel doesn't have the rights to the Princess of Power cartoon lore. Hordak took a baby, but the writers were very careful to never mention her name. Even if Despara shows up, it could be anyone under that mask.

Honestly, i ñiled this sesdon. But thats because i took it as its own completely separate entity and didnt compare ig to anyrhing. Not even the seasons that came before it. I just sat back for the ride and it was very fun.

He is Keldor and he is an interdimensional demon, those aren't mutually exclusive, also, Hordak not fighting his own battles is a lie, the guy turns his arm into a canon.
But how if he’s Randor’s brother? Or is that going to be disregarded now?
@@AL-ws5yi In the 2001 version he tried to throw acid at Randor and ended up disfigured and close to dying when Randor defended himself, Hordak (or Horde Prime, I forget which), used sorcery to save his life, but turned him into Skeletor, and he can travel to other dimensions, so, he is an interdimensional demon, as he is no longer a Garr/Eternian hybrid.

Horde Prime didn't exist in that show, thankfully.
