The problem with shows like this have is that they aren’t even pushing any morals or ideals. It’s just “Look! A leftist! Boooo!!!” And it sucks because there’s room in the industry for more traditionalist values to be displayed in a well written series. Let’s look at the plot about the students failing his wood-shop class. He also disapproves of his son’s gaming/streaming hobby. You can build off of that.
We can still start off with the kids being uninterested in the class and not respecting Mr. B’s authority. He fails them and their immediate reaction is to threaten to have their parents talk to the school. Insert some conflict. Maybe have the kids are playing around with the tools and the principal’s desk breaks. Ya know, instead of something boring like tools get banned for safety reasons. Then, the students have to actually work hard to learn the lessons from class to fix it. They try and fail. Mr. B sees what they’re doing and teaches them in a calm and understanding manner. The kids realize how respecting their teachers and paying attention in class has its merits and Mr. B realizes that he can’t just use some convoluted donkey system to grade his students.
Both characters learn something and find some common ground to work together harmoniously.
Maybe there’s another episode where he wants to take them lumber jacking. Some of the students are too glued to their devices to want to go outdoors while others are against cutting down trees. They turn it into a weekend camping trip where some of the students get lost and they have no phone signal. They have to use what they’ve learned from playing video games to survive and find their way back. In the end, he realizes that gaming can have its benefits and the kids also want to spend more time outdoors. It’s then revealed that he wanted to chop down trees that were either sick or invasive species or something that justified cutting them down for wood working. He planned all along to replace them by planting new trees. You still get that “dang Liberal environmentalist hippie” jabs while still making a compelling story.
Obviously, I’m not a writer and these are some pretty basic conflict-resolution plots. The point is that there is so much that can be done with a more conservative/traditionalist ideology. Just attacking one character that’s already an amplified amalgamation of stereotypes isn’t interesting media. It’s just a conservative fever dream where they get to “own the libs”.
When you vilify a character for who they are (political/religious beliefs, race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, etc.) instead of for their actions, you’ve instantly lost. The reason why shows like Static Shock work is because they still humanize characters that we may not see eye-to-eye with. Richie’s father obviously holds some extremely bigoted views of others and is meant to be an antagonist. But the show doesn’t revolve around dunking on him. It explores what makes him tick and opens his eyes to the reality that the world is changing. Even more direct shows like the original Proud Family focus more on the human aspect of these conflicts and less on trying to make someone out to be the bad guy (something missing from Louder And Prouder).
Anyways, I’m just angry that shoving political beliefs down everyone’s throats has taken priority over good writing and trying to tell a compelling story that may teach audiences a lesson or share what the writer(s)’ beliefs are. There are ways to do this that these writers just don’t seem capable of pulling that off. And thinking of all the shows that got canned while this and Velma were greenlit… It’s so disappointing to see the state of the industry.

If you want to preach against racism, your work has to appeal to racists or at least people who are undecided, because they're the ones who need it. If you want to advance conservative values, you have to have a work that watched/read by liberals, or at least moderates. Like gay people have entire subcultures and experiences straight people are unaware of and they bring it to the screen. The campiness of the Davies Who era for instance did use a gay perspective you can tell when you watch early episodes and they have stuff like Britney Spears playing as an Earth ballad by the trans character who’s now just a piece of skin who constantly shouts to be moisturized while the Earth dies. Let’s be honest only a gay person would write something that over the top and funny- over the top camp tends to be embraced more by the lgbt community. Another show was Boondocks which was from primarily a black perspective and mixed the shonen anime style with black culture to create racial commentary that didn’t care about white feelings. It was successful and now a cult classic. So these demographics can create great stories if given a chance to put those perspectives into art.

But they'll say it isn't, because those are red M&Ms. And maybe they'll mix the other colors of other kinds of M&Ms, but they don't stop there. They mix in everything else too. Skittles, lemon heads, jawbreakers, rat poison, birth control, meatballs, mothballs, cannon balls, doormats, democrats, tongue slats, church bells, fresh water snails.. etc. Might be fine as a chowder but they're trying to tell you its a hamburger.

It rags on black people and culture a lot more than it even addresses white people because it comes from a place of caring. Most would be surprised to that The Boondocks actually criticized Obama for just being black and having no other qualifications for being president (or, at the very least, his voters for having no other reason to vote for him). A lot of creatives will write pointed commentary or insults at executives or higher ups that make their lives worse. Like in the show The Owl House, the MC makes a joke that’s a commentary on the fact their show was cut short.
Justified, considering how massive the fanbase was and how much money Disney would’ve made off of it. So much money they felt it necessary to apologize to the creator after the fact.
In that vein tho, creatives calling out BS decisions by higher ups are great. Most shitty decisions are made by them. And in the case of Velma, they literally forced the creators to make a Scooby doo show when they didn’t want to. But when they’re sending hate towards the audience, which have done NOTHING to them, then it’s a problem. Yes, some audiences r stupid, focusing on brands more than original content. And some are way too politically minded and focus on that more than anything else. But targeting a vocal minority of AHs rather than trying to make something good for everyone else who does care is so awful.

On top of that the "If you Don't like it don't buy it" argument always falls flat when they turn around and BLAME the people who didn't watch/read their show/book for doing horribly (See Ghostbuster 2016). Like I can live with a product "wasn't made for me" why can't they accept they made a bad product?
Finally Velma was the nail in the coffin for my admitted confirmation bias, Mindy Kaling said she was making it for the usual "Representation" issues, at the same time she said she wanted to do Velma cause she felt a "connection" with the character, you know DESPITE the fact the character wasn't the same ethnicity as the Mindy. To top it off she didn't even make the character Velma, it was just her putting herself in Velma's shoes. And because of this all the other characters had to change to try to hide what a horrible person/character she was, and funnily enough she's still the worse thing about her own show
