Use fence pickets to make some flower boxes.

Make cheap flower boxes from old or new fence pickets. I used 9 new Cedar fence pickets to make two flower boxes. I can slip a five gallon bucket in the middle for the flowers.

Interesting build technique making the 3 squares instead of making panels. I gotta ask though, why didn't you nail from the inside?
I prefer not allowing any fasteners to show, if it can be helped. With your design, I would have nailed from the inside and then used clamps to hold the top trim while the glue dried.
I like the idea of making these to accommodate a 5-gallon bucket. Makes it easy to maintain the planter box and the container for the plants.

Those are not built sturdy or tough enough to hold a 5 gallon bucket of concrete for a umbrella pole. But I like your design on these for flowers etc.
