I'm excited to see that not only is it a new pistol being made here, but it also shot really well. It does apparently take P10 mags but I am excited either way!
One positive thing is this seems to be another option that doesnt use proprietary magazines. Somehow we settled on the STANAG for rifles but every handgun has to be a unique butterfly even though at least half actually use the same mag body with slightly different lengths and slightly different mag release cuts.
$10 bucks says it is based on the Arex Delta. The pin locations, trigger guard shape and and striker indicator are identical. And if it takes P10C mags, that is the slam dunk.

Pohlner tactical & Ziga have invaded Dallas!!! I applaud Rost Martin and anyone with balls big enough to undertake manufacturing a firearm in this hostile political and economical environment.👍🏻
Looks great, but the CZ P10C optics ready pistol is selling for the ridiculous price of less than 370 dollars. The P10C pistol comes from a manufacturer that has a proven track record and a long history of making quality firearms. I'm surprised as to why no one is talking about how great of a pistol the P10C is for the price that they are asking for. If you are coming out with a new offering it should be better than the P10C and that is a high hurdle to jump over.
It's new and will definitely have to come out and earn a reputation good or bad. As far as the price point difference, I don't mind paying a bit more for a domestically produced product. Anytime I can buy American I try to.
Oh yes. This is an Arex delta. I just compared mine with the photos of the inside and outside from the video. 100% Arex Delta without all the sharp angles. Also, I’m pretty sure the delta’s magazines are cz75 mags with a different baseplate.
The Deltas use P10 mags. CZ75 Mags don't have the cut in the front of the mag body for the ambi release. When I couldn't find Delta mags for mine, I used the P10C mags I had for my P07 and they worked perfectly.
If you are talking about the screws that use the bigger torx bits they are way better than allen head or smaller torx bits but the bigger ones like t8 and bigger are much less likely to strip ,now the quality is a whole different matter

The GX4 Carry is a bit smaller and more similar in size to the Sig p365, the Rost Martin is closer to a glock 19. I carry a glock 17 (a full size handgun) because I have bigger hands and struggle to shoot the smaller ones better. I don't think one gun is particularly "better" than the other, I think it comes down to preference.
@@ARFCOMReviews thank you im in the process of purchasing my first firearm and I'm stuck between those three guns the Rost Martin, the Taurus gx4 carry and the Beretta apx A1 compact your videos have definitely helped me narrow done the list
That's a pretty good description to be honest. I also have been spoiled by the Echelons mounting system, but they wanted to offer plates of all mounts so that they could keep cost down and not have to cut a bunch of different slide types.
At the risk if turning this into a dog pile: This is strikingly similar to the AREX Delta. Slightly different profile on the slide and trigger guard, slightly different slide serrations. End plate is the same, striker indicator that looks like it comes out the back of the slide the same way. I would be shocked if there wasn't at least some significant technical assistance from AREX.
Not a dog pile at all! This is what the comments section is for! I definitely think this takes pretty heavily from the AREX pistol bow that I've looked into it. I have no issue with that as long as it's well put together, with quality parts, and there's honesty in the marketing of the pistol.
@@ARFCOMReviews I can agree with that. Of the companies whose homework they could copy, AREX is a good choice, I carried a Delta for about 2 years. Very good value pistols. But as you said, honesty about the provenance of the design and the OEM work is key. I'd be interested to see how Roast Martin responds to a direct question about any relationship with AREX or Global Ordinance.
100% I would also include the dagger in that convo. But only the dagger and RM1C are made domestically. But if you don't care than the p10 and GX4 are pretty solid choices too!
Looks great. Would have been better for it to have come out 3 years ago as I all ready have too many pistols. Plus the fact that now a days, the micro compact guns shoot really well and are much easier to conceal.

Thank you for the feedback and the support! How did you listen to the episode if you don't mind me asking, I want to know how to test it in the future 😅
Is there a reason gun manufacturers don’t just cut the slide for the RMR and then sell adapter plates that go on top of the RMR cut if people want something different? The other optics would sit higher but any RMR footprint optic would sit nice and low. That might also force it to be a de facto standard cut.
They addressed this in the pinned comment (you're definitely not the only person who noticed this 🤣) The AREX Delta is what they based the gun around, similar to how the Shadow Systems pistols are based off the glock.
**Agree that all guns (especially handguns) should be ambidextrous (not switchable) not just for the left-handed people but also for wounded arm training, that a serious pistol craft person engages in. **My ideal gun would be ambidextrous contols (mag release, slide release,) optional from the factory safety lever. That is a trijicon RMR for the optic and a surefire XC1-C for the light. For more affordable options you could also go with the Holosun 407 and the Streamlight TLR-7
Direct mount does limit the type of optic you can mount on a pistol unfortunately. Those I totally think the V.I.S. system on the Echelon does it best and crushes almost all mounting options. There is still a give and take when it comes to optics footprints/mounting types. We are still pretty far from being as "required" as MLOK or 1913 rails
I don't think there is one for this specific light, but I think crossbreed and maybe some others are making holsters for it, but maybe not light bearing ones yet
Well some parts are not made here in the usa! If i remember form shoot show thaay said it shares and hets parrs from the rex handgun. And can you ise hell cat mags as well as p360
Upon further investigation, we believe the slide, frame, and some of the internal parts are made here in the US where the rest of the trigger group and other trigger/rail components are made by Arex and imported to complete the firearm. I'm not sure if they will offer other models that utilize anything other than the p10c mags
IMO, that name just sounds classy, like one of the earlier gun makers from around 1900 😎 As a boomer and a FUDD! 😁, I really like me some thumb safety or long, relatively heavy trigger; but this pistol is definitely on my list anyway. 🙂
I would say it has a market, seems nice.. wish it wasn’t a plate system because plate systems are not the thing anymore… but being a Glock that takes other mags seems like a nice though if you’re not a Glock guy might be your gateway to Glocks for some.. seems nice almost like a XD9 or Hellcat pro not bad but so far might be considered a Fudd gun lol
I'm not a huge fan of paying a company to beta test their products (talking to you sig) but if these guys want to send me a free T&E version I can guarantee a fair, accurate, and brutal review of their product. I can also just about guarantee that all 15 of my subscribers will watch the video. HMU.
"Compact" Size AREX Delta Gen 2.5... undeniably Slav designed. That said... I love the pistol. The lack of grip texture is where it meets the price point.
It's closer to a "compact" (glock 19ish) size and definitely inspired by the Arex. What's wild is how not cheap it feels despite the price point. I'm always pro more choice in the marketplace for the customer 😁
It's closer in size to the glock 19 in size, but the trigger is better and it's WAY cheaper. I do see holster compatability being an issue right now depending on preference, but overall it's a pretty solid shooter
Well it's not a glock clone so it's beating them there 🤣 I say that as someone who carries a G17. I think the trigger is better unless you're comparing it to a gen 5, and the ergonomics are definitely different so they might fit your hand better depending on preference. Other than that it's a 9mm that goes bang so it's really up to the user as to what they prefer.
@@ARFCOMReviews I’m saying that to day - everything is coming down to ergonomics now because the formula is the same now. Glock gen 3 clones are ubiquitous and crashing prices. Everything is shooting 9mm out of a 4 inch barrel. There isn’t anything to improve accept ergos and rmr cut frames. If it ain’t broke dont fix it, and all these new guns are trying to fix a problem that no one asked about. Options are great, but I don’t see where this gun beats out a PSA dagger or even some Turkish imports in the $299 out the door range. This price range - the Glock clones are King imo. PSA dagger, Str-9, SAR9, Rex Delta etc They’re all Glock clones - they even dropped the prices on the Steyr and the CZ P-10c This is one of those - new guns for the sake of being new, but there’s nothing revolutionary here. Size is the only thing that sells these day… or rmr or rms cut slides.
Never shot the AREX, but there is definitely some suspicious similarity between the two lol my comment was that there was nothing about the gun that made it difficult to apply good marksmanship fundamentals. Which isn't always the case.
I agree, the compact Mete and the Dagger have records of working, I know their other products from Canik and PSA that work, and both will be cheaper than this guy...hell one is even made in the USA. I feel this will be the gun for the poor hipster alone.
Yep, but with a melt job. The pin locations, trigger guard shape and and striker indicator are identical. And if it takes P10C mags, that is the slam dunk.
@@ARFCOMReviews Something tells me they are P10 mags, since 75 mags aren't cut for ambi like the P10 mags are. The Arex Delta uses a P10 mag body with a proprietary base plate.
This gun and the Arex Delta DO NOT use CZ 75 mags. You can use p10c/p07 mags in the delta but they are not the same and i wouldnt want to use the gun for anything serious while using p10c mags.
Well seeing as this gun appears to be a rebranded Arex Delta and I happen to have quite a bit of experience with the Arex delta, Ive owned 2 still own one and a good friend of mine has one as his edc, we also shre notes on guns that we are using and have put larger round counts through. I also have sever CZ 75 variants and a plethora of mags and the do not lock into the arex since the Rost Martin is either a clone or rebrand of the Arex I am highly confident that the rost is the same as both the arex and Rost both only have mag catch slots on the front of their magazines. Go ahead try it out on video and disprove me and if Im wrong Ill say so.@@ARFCOMReviews
@@ARFCOMReviews Well seeing that the Rost appears to be either a clone or more likely a rebrand of the Arex Delta and that the mags for both guns only have one mag catch slot on the front of them for the ambi mag catch and CZ 75 mags do not. Im trying to figure out how a CZ 75 mag would lock into the magwell without such a cut. On top of that the mags don't even look the same or similar beyond being mags for a semi auto pistol. So if Im wrong and your so right why not post a follow up video and prove me wrong instead of writng my comment off as someone who dosent know what he is talking about?
@@ARFCOMReviews With all due respect, looking at shots of the mag in your video, I don't see any notch holes on the side that would be required to engage a CZ75 mag release. I DO see a hole on the front face that roughly matches the hole for gen 1 P-10c mags, and pretty much looks identical to the hole on the front of Arex Delta mags. Am I missing seeing the hole on the front/side corner needed to lock into a CZ75 mag release?
The gaps between the slide and optic are a no go for me. It is my understanding that to safely and securely hold a MRDS there needs to be a tight fit. I understand this is hard to do for most manufacturers, but it is also why I buy aftermarket plates for my expensive optics (FCD seems to do it right). Also, while I stick with Glocks largely due to inertia (I own a lot of accessories and tools), I am also disappointed in so many new pistol designs using roll pins for construction. This significantly complicates deep cleaning and repair because roll pins are a one time use part. A roll pin for the extractor is especially annoying. Glock gets this right.
Range audio down. Podcast audio up. Hard to hear the conversation over the echoing fire. Seems like the podcast is in the background with the range audio being the dominate audio.
why do the internals (3:29 exactly the same wtf), trigger guard, and striker indicator/backplate look identical to the arex delta? hopefully its not plagiarism and rost martin is just contracting it out to arex
Well they can't contract it out to Arex and claim that it is made in the USA. They definitely would have had to pay Arex for the patent or they'll be sued into oblivion.
I see no problem with a frame mounted safety; if you don't want to use it, don't. If you want to use it, as I do, having trained on 1911's, and it's not there? I'll pass on this one.
I see no issue with them on guns like the 1911 (one of my personal favorites) due to the battery of arms its designed for and the internet behind the features. If you train with a safety then it's not a big deal, but dor newer shooter I do think it ads another layer of complexity to an already complex task.
Looks good and may even be a fantastic, however I couldn’t hear any of your comments. Here’s a suggestion, don’t do voiceovers with range action in the background. Drowns out the reviewers. I love ARFCOM, but you guys should know better. Now, go look a pictures of Diane Feinstein naked for an hour as your penance!
I will send those notes to the editor! If you don't mind answering, how to you watch the episode? It will help us when QCing the videos moving forward. Time to Google some pictures I can't unsee 😅
This handgun is ugly for it's price range. Combat armory makes this handgun useless to most people. A good Glock clone is the way to go more holster options and aftermarket options available.
Why TF did they needlessly include so much distracting live fire noise? That’s the worst part of every live recorded range video, why add it unnecessarily??

My question is, why does it look like the striker firing pin sets and then drop before the trigger is pulled? If that makes sense?
I wish I was an engineer and could answer that question 😅 all I can say is it was a good trigger for a sticker fire gun lol
@@ARFCOMReviews Thank you for the response. I'm looking forward to reviewing one, hopefully by next month.
Interesting design, where is the pin that holds the trigger in place? No pin? New trigger design reliable?
Not sure to be honest, I'll look at our when I get back to the shop
The locking block is the serialized part and has the trigger pin in it it’s inside the grip module. Look up Arex delta gen 2 they are the same design.
Need these in California if ever possible lol ya right
Thoughts and prayers homie 🥲
IMO, that name just sounds classy, like one of the earlier gun makers from around 1900 😎
As a boomer and a FUDD! 😁, I really like me some thumb safety or long, relatively heavy trigger; but this pistol is definitely on my list anyway. 🙂
I have found my people 🤣
@@ARFCOMReviews 😎
This have a similar feel and build (slim full size) as an XMacro? Or a little more like Glock/P10c?
Much closer to the P10c or the M&P compact
@@ARFCOMReviews you had me at M&P Compact >_>
What is the red dot you're using in this video?
RMR type 2 adjustable
I would say it has a market, seems nice.. wish it wasn’t a plate system because plate systems are not the thing anymore… but being a Glock that takes other mags seems like a nice though if you’re not a Glock guy might be your gateway to Glocks for some.. seems nice almost like a XD9 or Hellcat pro not bad but so far might be considered a Fudd gun lol
It's a pretty big departure from a glock in feel and engineering, but I definitely think you're spot on
I'm not a huge fan of paying a company to beta test their products (talking to you sig) but if these guys want to send me a free T&E version I can guarantee a fair, accurate, and brutal review of their product.
I can also just about guarantee that all 15 of my subscribers will watch the video.
HMU.
Do it!
I think I want this Rost Martin ....
You should get one! It's a pretty sweet pistol
@@ARFCOMReviews, yeah, I think it's next on my purchase list ...
They make a very good pistol
We were pretty impressed with it and plan to do a follow up video on it soon 😁
"Compact" Size AREX Delta Gen 2.5... undeniably Slav designed. That said... I love the pistol. The lack of grip texture is where it meets the price point.
It's closer to a "compact" (glock 19ish) size and definitely inspired by the Arex. What's wild is how not cheap it feels despite the price point. I'm always pro more choice in the marketplace for the customer 😁
Is the pin above the mag release to hold the trigger in place?
No clue to be honest 🤣 does look a lot more like the AREX the more I look at it lol
Its for the ambi mag release i believe
Do the mags seem like they are CZ compatible mags
I mean p10 mags not 75
We will verify next time we are in the office 😁
It does not take cz75 mags. It takes cz p10 mags. They are very different mags.
We found out about that afterwards
How does it stack against a p365 macro?
It's closer in size to the glock 19 in size, but the trigger is better and it's WAY cheaper. I do see holster compatability being an issue right now depending on preference, but overall it's a pretty solid shooter
It looks like Canik and CZ had a baby
For sure!
Any holsters for this yet?
I believe crossbreed, QVO, and a few other people plan to make them!
Neat, an American made Canik.
*Arex Delta
@@ARFCOMReviews Canik at home?
5:21 hey I resemble that remark.
And I'll always love you for it lol
But how does this beat a PSA dagger or any of the other Glock clones?
Well it's not a glock clone so it's beating them there 🤣 I say that as someone who carries a G17. I think the trigger is better unless you're comparing it to a gen 5, and the ergonomics are definitely different so they might fit your hand better depending on preference. Other than that it's a 9mm that goes bang so it's really up to the user as to what they prefer.
Dagger trigger is awful
PSA dagger, Str-9, SAR9, Rex Delta etc
They’re all Glock clones - they even dropped the prices on the Steyr and the CZ P-10c
This is one of those - new guns for the sake of being new, but there’s nothing revolutionary here.
Size is the only thing that sells these day… or rmr or rms cut slides.
My ONLY Glock is aTimber wolf,
( compact 40sw and 357sig...KKM barrel)
The strait back strap just makes it for me.
It's made in Texas. 😁
"I forgot I am shooting a new gun" - Maybe it is because it is not a new gun, but rather a rebranded AREX Delta?
Never shot the AREX, but there is definitely some suspicious similarity between the two lol my comment was that there was nothing about the gun that made it difficult to apply good marksmanship fundamentals. Which isn't always the case.
I’ll get one when the price goes down like a CZ P10…😊
I'm one of those weirdos who pays more to support American companies when it makes sense.
Light and optics?
Sights - Trijicon RMR
Light - surefire xc2
You got it!
Looks almost like the Mossberg MC2
It does visually look petty close to that, it is however much closer related to the Arex Delta
@@ARFCOMReviews True I forgot about the gun
Is this a Arex Delta Clone???
Yes sir! Good eye
Another striker fired handgun the market was screaming for. yay
Imagine if people were like this about cars, knives, or medical kit 🤣 oh wow, another thing that saves lives 🤣 but I do understand the critique
Looks like my Arex Delta.. 💁🏾♂️
It's mostly that yes lol
i dont carry ambi guns, cant risk bumping a table and releasing my mag and not knowing it. ambi is a no go for me.
That's an interesting conundrum I've never considered. What would happen if you were left handed?
@@ARFCOMReviews as a left handed person...... nothing.
Looks kinda snappy
It's practically identical in recoil impulse as a glock 19.
I thought it shot pretty flat personally.
A $420-$450 gun with zero track record isn’t exactly screaming “buy me” right now.
A gun should only scream "bang" or whisper "click" 🤣🤣🤣 if it says "buy me", you should talk to a doctor
I agree, the compact Mete and the Dagger have records of working, I know their other products from Canik and PSA that work, and both will be cheaper than this guy...hell one is even made in the USA. I feel this will be the gun for the poor hipster alone.
It is kind of sad to say that one of the most interesting parts of a gun is that it’s made in the US. That should be normal!
I couldn't agree more!
Somehow i think this is an area delta 2
Yep, but with a melt job. The pin locations, trigger guard shape and and striker indicator are identical. And if it takes P10C mags, that is the slam dunk.
It's definitely looking like an AREX clone given what we've seen
Ppl saying walther and Glock mix I see Springfield and CZ just me
I'm definitely with you on that.
Is the mag release polymer or metal?
I will check next time I'm in the office!
give me a texas flag paint job and i'll take it
A Texas edition would be kinda awesome
@@joshuas6221 i would call it "year one Texas edition" price will most likely be $500 to $550 but still would look sick
Hit triarc up, they are local
@@rebel._ you're not wrong
Glock's homework for the 19 but takes CZ mags...so its a domestic CZ P10C?
Does it take 75 mags or P10/P-07 mags?
It takes 75 mags and yes it's like the P10C from Texas 🤣
@@ARFCOMReviews Something tells me they are P10 mags, since 75 mags aren't cut for ambi like the P10 mags are. The Arex Delta uses a P10 mag body with a proprietary base plate.
We will definitely investigate 🧐 thanks for bringing it up!
I see Smith and Wesson sigma
I could totally see that!
I’d take one.
I wouldn't be mad about having one 😁
Im thinking it's the Daggers cousin who has all of her teeth...
Hahahahaha this is the best comment so far 🤣🤣🤣 you win the internet today my friend
That’s a arex delta
It's definitely a very similar clone!
This gun and the Arex Delta DO NOT use CZ 75 mags. You can use p10c/p07 mags in the delta but they are not the same and i wouldnt want to use the gun for anything serious while using p10c mags.
I'm guessing you have a lot of experience with this gun 🤣 it definitely is designed for CZ 75 mags
We can double check for you 😁 but it's definitely looking like a clone of the Arex Delta
Confirm again to all readers. This entire pistol is manufactured in USA and has no assembled parts from AREX?
This has at least AREX internals, I do however believe they make the slide, frame, and some other intervals are made by Rost Martin
A Glock that doesn't take Glock mags? Lmao
This is a pretty far departure from a glock 🤣 there are exactly zero interchangeable parts between the two guns (well the 9mm ammo is the same lol)
@@ARFCOMReviews interesting 🤔 I like that it's made in Texas. Thanks for the additional info, I did not realize.
Sold...
I kinda want one just to support a local manufacturer!
I miss Bobby….
He is the best man, I miss him too
The gaps between the slide and optic are a no go for me.
Valid complaints all around. There is something to be said about engineering choices being made for the sake of keeping costs down.
Range audio down.
Podcast audio up.
Hard to hear the conversation over the echoing fire. Seems like the podcast is in the background with the range audio being the dominate audio.
I will definitely pass that along to the editor. If you don't mind answering, how did you watch the episode? On your phone? With headphones?
why do the internals (3:29 exactly the same wtf), trigger guard, and striker indicator/backplate look identical to the arex delta? hopefully its not plagiarism and rost martin is just contracting it out to arex
Well they can't contract it out to Arex and claim that it is made in the USA. They definitely would have had to pay Arex for the patent or they'll be sued into oblivion.
It definitely looks super close!
Looks like a Styer m9-a1 clone to me.
Arex Delta clone is more accurate.
This particular video I watched on television. My iPhone is synced with my TV.
👍
Is it California compliant? 😂
Probably not yet lol
black color firearm is so urgly, they should make coyote color.
I believe they will be coming in FDE this year 🤣
Not a glock clone. Look like a renamed glock.
Google Arex Delta gen 2 and you'll see what it more closely resembles 😁 there is parts interchangeably between this and a glock
This handgun is ugly for it's price range. Combat armory makes this handgun useless to most people. A good Glock clone is the way to go more holster options and aftermarket options available.
It's far from useless 🤣 but I'm glad to have such a rich selection of guns to choose from nowadays.
Why TF did they needlessly include so much distracting live fire noise? That’s the worst part of every live recorded range video, why add it unnecessarily??
