Dan Aykroyd is on the program. Dan is truly a great Canadian innovator: he was part of the original cast of 'Saturday Night Live', a group that made censors sweat and helped turn SNL into a pop-culture machine. What followed was a phenomenon, including the Ghostbusters films, both co-written by Dan. There are rumours about a third 'Ghostbusters' too. We'll get Dan's inside take on that. In short, the guy who scored an Oscar nomination for 'Driving Miss Daisy', helped launch the House of Blues, and got into the liquor business has an otherworldy amount of talent.

He lives here in the Sydenham area and we see him around in village. No one seems to mention his performance in Driving Miss Daisy. It was brilliant.
Thanks, Canada for sharing Dan with the United States! He’s an amazing person and treasure.
Dan is an inspiration, as a young man with aspergers trying to break into the comedy scene it's good to have role models like him
Dan Ayrkoyd Makes me proud to be a canadian... what a great author and artist!
WOW!!!! Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Eddie Murphy in the original Ghostbusters!!!!! WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN!!!!!
Wooooooah he went to the school up the road from where I live?!?!?! I pass that high school every day to catch the bus. Awesome. That's just awesome.
Just adore him. Always have. ♥️
That picture of Dan Aykroyd looking down at Belushi's coffin is just heartbreaking
Dan's just as foxy in the Bass-O-Matic skit as he was in this interview. Yowzers.
🍃💞Oh maaan .. i just watched this..love sir Dan Akaroyd!!💞🍃
So proud that Aykroyd is one of ours :)
Great interview
Legend
Ohhhh he is my man
He's the star of "Ghostbusters". Columbia Pictures filmed this in New York beginning in 1984.
Dan is a good guy
I was born in the same hospital as Dan Aykroyd but about 4 months earlier. My family moved from Ottawa to Edmonton in late 1955 where we lived on the old Griesbach army base until 1964. I could have been one of Dan's playmates/buddies/friends but it never happened. I would love to meet Dan Aykroyd. Oh well. (Note: I was also raised as as a Roman Catholic.)
I love this guy. And John Belushi, was he a legendary guy, even while he was alive I wasn’t around then but the world really lost a great soul the day that guy died, jesus man, it’s always the legends. Lots of great folks died in the 80s, obviously Lennon, but also Peter Sellers and Orson Welles and others.
I believe this man
Great interview, I actually like Dan a little more now. Although, how come they didn't talk about Nothing But Trouble. ;)
This is how we'd pronounce Dan's surname, in IPA format: /'ækroɪd/ (spelled: AK-royd)
I hope I have half the talent that Dan has.
GREETINGS EARTHLINGS
Dans a lovely guy, and i have aspergers.
Don Aykroyd is my favorite movie star when he made Ghostbusters Ghostbusters 2 My Girl and several other movies and blue brothers I hope they make Ghostbusters 3
Now there won't be a Ghostbusters 3 Harold Ramis died ;(
George is in fact Canadian. Google is there for a reason.
He wrote men in Black 3?? Oh boy
Shame George didn't ask him about his time as a security guard at Rochdale College ;)
I have to ask because there are so many talented people from Canada and not just actors, my question is how come they ( or a great majority ) move to the USA and become famous here and for the most part stay here?
Aykroyd had a sad life, many of his friends have died tragically... John Belushi, Chris Farley...
Ye but he's alive! He gets to absorb the wisdom and live on. That is ultimately a blessing. I can testify.
Too short! Gotta increase your standard interview by 50%.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too short
A video where dan aykroyd isn't trying to sell his vodka or talking about UFO:s? Am i dreaming?
Congratulations. Do you feel accomplished?
And if you thought that could be considered trolling, you need to up your game.
of course he is, he is on a mission from god
Whatever you say Herr Hitler. Down with personal freedoms are we?
Blues Brothers help popularize the American blues? Does the 50s Rock and Roll movement not count as blues anymore?
Do you mean Mexico?
'We've got a hot young writer on it, he wrote men in black 3'
That was either a joke that fell flat, or Dan Akroyd literally is as detached from reality as people say.
Lost on you hunh
well not for long. he'll be an employee of CNN (i think its cnn anyways?) soon.
uh, no.
South of the Canadian border genius. Akroyd is Canadian.... No hope in humanity...
