I don't know why is it so hard for some people to understand the ending. Basically, Damon and Elena were humans and they lived until they were old and they both died. They looked young because why not and after they died Elena met her parents again and Damon his brother. Simple.

I havent watched these series and i need a bit help to understand. Some videos say that damon kills himself to save stefan and elena and some says that elena dies ina car accident so stefan cries and damon spends the night with someone else and some says that stefan dies to save elena who dies tho??
The_one_directioner ; - ; - Elena dies in season 3 and becomes a vampire. Damon dies in season 5 to trigger a gas explosion and kill the travellers (Damon comes back to life) the Elena in season 6 gets put into a sleep where she won’t wake up unless Bonnie dies and then in the series finale Stefan gives up his life to save everyone while also killing Katherine and basking in hell fire.

The actual love story was between Stefan and Damon. When Elena was gone you could see how much they loved and protected each other. I cried at the ending.

I agree. It was ALWAYS the story of two brothers and their love for each other. Everyone else, including Elena, was just a part of theirs.
At the end, we see Stefan at peace knowing he would see his brother again. And the beauty of their story was they finally found happiness and peace 'Together!' Forever!❣️

damon and stefan exchanged the exact same words at the beginning of the show, the only difference is at the beginning they both hated each other but at the end of the show they love each other and that is why the entire show was about an epic story about two brothers who found their way back to each other.
I think they never hated each other, I mean they are brothers after all but they did become the closest after meeting Elena.

Y'all... Bonnie always puts her entire life on the line to save everyone, she never hesitates yet they didn't give her the happiness she rightfully deserves
Idk about that…with Elena awake now, she can live her life to the fullest and not have to worry…and being that she’s a beyond powerful witch…I’m sure she can add on life to her own and find the happiness she deserves. The fact that the show didn’t show her crossing over like Elena means she’s still alive and probably still young…but if ur talking about happiness in terms of finding a good man…then idk if that’s bonnies type of happiness.

@@marouantnifas1656 Well unfortunately Elena was the only one who got a happy ending and the rest just dealt with the loss.Caroline got widowed because Stefan died and Bonnie trying to live her life without Enzo since he was killed by Stefan.Delena finally reunited and I guess they grew old together but they didn't show it because the finale seemed so rush but in that moment when they're walking hand in hand,it simply depicts that they already found 'peace' or in other words they died.Damon just disappeared because he was meant to spend the rest of his found 'peace' with his brother so later on the episode you'll see Damon finally reunite with Stefan saying that iconic "hello brother" line again and it's because he loves Stefan more than he does to Elena because they're brothers.Finally,Elena reunited with her deceased family and clearly that's where she's gonna spend the rest of her eternal peace.
P.S Jeremy wasn't on their 'peace' reunion which basically means he's still alive and I hope he would appear in Legacies.🙂
P.S The reason why they still look young when they found peace is because that's how the people they love knew them when they were still alive.

@@trippie9941 because writers wanted to find a way to make stefan human, and enzo ended up being collateral damage, therefore destroying bonnie’s future. and elena and damon deserved a happy ending because they’ve been through a lot together, such as damon dying, elena erasing her memories, elena going into a coma etc. it wouldn’t make sense if they didn’t get a happy ending.

Only a true person who stuck through the whole show will understand the feeling of emptiness becAuse when you look back and remember how you laughed with these characters how you were excited when Damon was flirting with Elena, how Katherine played games with them, and when you remember how much pain and grief you went through together with these characters, the moment when Jenna died, the moment where rose had to die, when Elena fell into a comma, when Damon died and said goodbye to Elena, when they said goodbye to Bonnie at their own little funeral, we all cried together with this show and we laughed and we smiled, but what is the most heartbreaking is not the ending, it is the feeling of being incomplete within yourself, wondering how would the show continue and what would happen, wanting more adventure, passion maybe even a little danger ;) but the thing is you miss it and you want it, remember how in episode 1 Elena just had met Stefan? And then you would have never expected for them to break up, BUT IT HAPPENED, what I’m trying to say is that no matter how much you try to back away from this feeling it just keeps on coming back and there is no turning back from it

This show made me feel something I have never felt my whole life. This is my forever favorite show and I dont know if I can ever replace it or if it's even ever replacable. I had such an adventure watching this and watching the ending just makes me weak again. This is unlike any show I have ever watched. When I get older im going to get back and rewatch this someday for the fun of it. This is my favorite show and tv entertainment so far. I cried like a baby watching this show several times, its a sad show but I felt so many emotions from watching all 8 seasons. The show has made me feel happy, sad, angry, depressed, and it was funny at most times. I laughed, I cried, and got mad... If someone reading this didn't see it well watch it because you're in for a treat.
I feel you so much I just finished rewatching it for the millionth times.. I invested myself so much in these characters I feel a whole in me knowing it ended 🥺

I remember what it felt like for the love, the despair, the loss, anguish. That show FUMBLES your feelings. I have seen a few more shows since, and it’s a tie between some.
I will say however, no show has ever made me feel emotions that I didn’t know I could feel at 15. I’m 18 now so it’s harder to feel things, but this show is still incredible.
I just finished the show for the first time a few hours ago. I cried so hard that I actually felt dizzy and dazed and ended up falling asleep for a few hours. I just wanted to watch this happy ending again. I’m sure I’ll come back to this video many times.

This scene really made me tear up, behind all the delena and stelena confusion what the ending really was proving is this whole story is about the brothers. Season 1 to 8, their relationship grew, and one day, they found peace. beautiful ending.

@@radrose8673 It's understandable to assume she's dead, but actually she isn't! If you watch Legacies Alaric's daughters mention Damon and Elena donated a lot and that they have their own daughter to look after named Stefanie. Plus, Mystic Falls has a practice called Elena Salvatore M.D.
Also, I think that when they killed Kane all the souls (Elena's family we're free from hell and visible then they can move on)

They ended this show so perfectly! This is one of the few shows that ended well. I was so upset when nina dobrev left the show and I hated the seasons without her but I am grateful she came back and gave Elena and the whole show a proper ending
I still enjoyed the show but when she left u lose one of the best dynamics in the show which is her and damon and the antagonists kinda got abit far fetched in season 7 and 8 but yeah I love this ending elena and Damon grow old happy and in love bonnie travels the world and Caroline starts the boardschool and then right at the end u get elena and Damon finding peace after a long life together finally going to see their family for the first time in a while I always imagine after this they all get together and have a big drink 😂😂

Honestly, The creators of Vampire Diaries, Originals, and Legacies did a really good job music-wise. This song completely fulfilled the ending of Vampire Diaries.
Such a beautiful, albeit bittersweet ending. Elenas words are a beautiful tribute to the peace everyone seeks after losing those we love. I’m glad her and Damon had a beautiful, long life together with children (one we still hear snippets about in Legacies) and that when it was over, they were at peace and able to see those they lost. It’s all anyone can ever ask for after the end. Beautifully done TVD. Beautifully done.
I'm so glad the last scene was a Defan scene.. The fact Stefan and Damon find peace together shows that in the end they were the most important person in each others life ♥️💔 I'm just crying about the best brotherhood I have ever seen

Honestly, despite this series was one of the best I've ever watched in my life, I didn't like so much the last 2 seasons, but the final episode was really moving. So sad about Stefan, but really happy about Elena's return.

I absolutely adore this ending. Even though the show was very much about Elena, Damon and Stefan, the main story was about two brothers. It all started with "hello brother" and it all ended with "hello brother". The perfect ending of a beautiful story.
