Rhaenyra son was actively participating in war when he went to seek support from Boros Baratheon. He took a eye out. He had it coming for a long time. No comparison to killing a toddler
The Blacksmith is Hugh the Hammer, a Dragonseed who will ride Vermithor, the mount of Old King Jaehaerys, the second biggest dragon in the world. The brothers will be legitimized as bastards of Laenor Velaryon (although most people assume they were really Coryls's sons). One will be a dragon rider and another will be heir to Driftmark
I have a suspicion that the show might make Daeron a dark haired son of Alicent and Criston Cole. That may make it harder to explain how he is a dragon rider, but they could give him elements of the story of Nettles from the books and have him tame a dragon by slowly making friends by gifting sheep.
I binged the first season again before watching season 2 episode 1 and I have to admit it lost some momentum, but it seems to be gaining some back with this episode with the side stories fueling the "What If?" fire. I didn't see that end coming with the brothers but it was a fitting end, it will be interesting to see where Aegon goes from here! Also I do believe deep down Daemon does love Rhaenyra, so when he hears about this direct attempt on he life, I wonder if he will go into full berserker mode!

with only eight episodes this season one more on build-up for this season is bold. But it was a hell of an episode overall
It really was solid, even if not a total banger. We have six more episodes left for that!

Daemon is such a wild card he absolutely could do ANYTHING when he hears the news!
The characters that you have questions about will get a payoff by the end of the season and they will have a big impact in the future.
@@shinrugal looking forward to it!
Cristin Cole is the worst, along with the Hightowers....
