I know this videos 8months old. But I finally got around to watching it, probably one of the most epic bites I've ever seen on this channel or on UA-cam. Seems like every cast was a fish, also mad props to figuring out this bite without your fish finder. Every fish is so quality too. I felt that when you got hooked.. last summer I was unhooking a nice vina that I caught with a flashminnow, they have 3 trebles.. anyway when I grabbed the fish it hooked my finger with 2 of the trebles... worst part was how hard the fish was thrashing.. every headshake
drove the hook deeper. Had to use my left hand to control the fish and I took the risk of pulling the hooks out with my teeth.. i fortunately was able too. That one got me good for sure.. did proceed to catch my pb corvina right after though...
Oh and later this week or next I'm gonna order some swimjigs from you. Been working great

yo brother thank you for putting out the gear used at the end of the videos, legit a useful tool to help make me a better fisherman. I've been off the water for more than 6 months, but should be back on next month, and the local bay videos are always great to watch to help cure/feed the itch to fish.

Sick vid, Sandies for days, cool to see someone catching fish on a red tide I tried mission bay for a late night sesh but no luck did see a light show though with the bioluminescence and all

you killed em afran!! long beach wasn't so hot this past Sunday, red tide killed the fishing, and it was hard to figure the bass out. It took me a while, but the calicos wanted to bite white colors. After that, I was catching them all day!
That water makes it hard to catch em. Great job out there!

Same exact thing happened to me at seaport. Caught a nice spottie on a jigpara 15g slow pitch & the assist hook went all the way through my index finger

Oh Man I didn’t know you had a UA-cam channel! Been using warbaits since I started using lures. Usually pair up a weed less lead head with a big hammer or the under spin with the same.

I’ve always wanted to buy a fish finder, but I’ve also always done well and can put something together based on “past experiences and landmarks”.. when I move back to SD I’ll get one for sure because it’s not always lobster season in La Jolla. Thanks for the vids 🤙🏻

I think it does affect the fishing. I think it chokes out the water system. Possibly why they were so deep.
You are correct Afrin, Since red tide only affect upper surface anything below wouldn't be affected. Nicely done on the sand bass.
Hey Afran could you explain exactly how you work the slow pitch jig? I bought two micro jigs that weigh 15g and 20g and I want to know how to work them for spotties. Thanks

Spent my navy years in the bay. Navy diver I was. Fished and dove for lobsters all the time. Want to get back in the bay again, might have to get me a kayak like yours. Cheaper than a Tracker from bass pro shop. Where do you launch ?

Do you need to have a kayak registered in order to use it on the ocean?
If you have a motor on your kayak, you will need to register it. If there is no motor, all good. You do need a fishing license to fish though.
