    De anza cove has a boat ramp, there’s tidelands in Coronado and ski beach has a boat ramp as well

    Spanish landing is my favorite spot to fish. My PB there is a 33” halibut on a Kalins grub.

    My wife and I have been interested in trying out kayaking/solo skiff fishing. This is probably one of the best resource video we’ve seen, good stuff. Having never done this, a real world review of how to launch and retrieval “etiquette” maybe a “how to” and “ways not to die on your first attempt” would be exceptional. The same matter of fact detail type video as this one, would be huge.

      @@sandog I’ve learned a fair bit in the last couple days. I’m bigger than your average bear; 6’-6.5” 370lbs. Not just any craft will suit my big ass.

    Also 1st St next to the ferry landing by the Forniao restaurant there's a small sand launch. There's a guy usually there renting out kayaks.

      Close by there actually at liberty station since the current was pretty strong at spanish landing. Just tried jigging off the bottom while cruising around. Cant wait to hit that spot when it warms up

      @Joshua Eskelson that spot is great. If you launch from liberty... I wouldn't even start fishing till you get past the bridge. You might catch something but the good stuff is on the other side of the bridge 🤘

    Thanks for the video! I'll add a few more. There are a multitude of spots in Mission Bay and South Mission so I won't add any more than what you've covered. I will say the spot at Mooreland Dr and Riviera Dr near Rocky's is convenient. Also, at the bottom of Farragut Rd and Cushing Rd in Liberty Station is another put in spot. It's near the Courtyard by Marriott. There is a kayak and paddle board rental spot there as well. There is bay access and plenty of grass if you prefer that over sand. I find it easier to park there than near Corvette Diner. There is also a public dock near Jimmy's Famous American Tavern on N Harbor Dr not too far from Liberty Station. As others have commented, the beach by Il Fornaio and Mullinex Dr by the skate park, both in Coronado, are good.

    Hi, I have the same type of car. A lot of Mexican owned small shops will replace your windshield for a very reasonable price. I go to the ones in San Fernando Blvd in the Valley. I get a lot of pits from wind on it. Maybe you can find some similar vehicle repair main Blvd down in San Diego. It's a while you wait service.

      Check campland on the bay here in mission bay.

      @@sandog I have checked there but it seems to be pretty solidly booked so that rules out any last min trips. Plus it doesn't seem to be much if any cheaper than hotel. I can always roof top the kayaks, its just easier with the trailer.

    Thanks for the video. Not a kayaker (yet) but love to float tube fish. I’m seeing this video giving me a lots of options to launch a tube as well. Camp in the Carlsbad area a few times a year and want to hit SD to do some fishing for spotties, halibut etc. Any hints which ones would be best for tubers? Subscribed🔔

    Great info appreciate the details and content!! I'm in North County and am just beginning my Kayak adventure. Have launched at Oceanside Harbor and the Carlsbad lagoon (Agua Hedionda Lagoon) but don't know too many other locations. Appreciate the variety in the South Bay but am wondering if there's options up North I'm missing. Thanks again.

    I’m more of a launch ramp guy. Never launched from the ocean beach and breakers. Lots of ramp options for an old dude.
    Typically How is the fishing in April and May In mission bay and outside in the ocean relatively close to shore.

    Good video. I've launched from all of these places before. Question, at Kellogg's after you get set up, what unicorn do you have to blow in order to find parking near there? Those Point Loma folks don't like me parking in front of their houses all that much.

    Thank you San Dog. I was thinking of how I was gonna Launch this coming July trip. I have a boat and I never been to SD but I want to get out to LJ try my luck. It seems like the easiest place to launch boats is the south side is that correct.

      When you say boat... do you mean like a little skiff. That's the most you could launch at la Jolla. If you have a boat i would launch from Dana. #6 on the list. And go out the channel and up to LJ

      No problemo. It will take a little practice but you can do it. Multiple guys launch their solo skiff there

    Is the Bahia Point #4 spot in your video free parking? Also what times are the parking? For us in Dana Point, it's from 6am to Midnight and after that you risk getting towed.

    Great informative video, i’ve been wanting to go fish, La Jolla, but I’m several hours away. I was wondering, do you know any good places you could stay overnight in a camper on the back of a truck, cheap and legal to do?? I would love to come down there and stay a few days in my camper and fish La Jolla. Let me know if you know of any places?? thanks.

      De Anza cove has some awesome spots . Just a couple exits from LA jolla. I just Google maps de Anza cove and you'll see the little trailer park place. You can also check campland on the bay.

    Is the SI ramp easier to climb than the hill on the beach (I mean south the boulders)? Fully loaded, that hill sucks.

      If you are a first time kayaker i don’t recommend to go in the ocean alone without a experienced person especially if you plan on going out far.

      No. Everyone who goes looks out for each other. Last year, a dude left his fins. I saw em sitting there and grabbed em cause I could tell they were forgot. Put a message on FB, and he came and got en the next day. You can also ask a dude to watch, even though as soon as you leave... most people will watch your stuff just cause. It's safe🤘🤘
