- Let's dive into the story of the Prog siblings, Vendra and Neftin. Sent to the Polaris galaxy at a young age, these two turned out to be big space criminals.
There's one headscratcher in Ratchet & Clank Into The Nexus, the ''explosion'' scenario of the Great Clock.

I can’t wait for a sequel to Into the Nexus. I hope Ratchet finally meets the Lombaxes and returns them to Fastoon and then he could have the life he never had. The only thing I worry about is that being the end of the series.
They can always remake the first ones (even though I didn't like what they did with the first one) or tell new stories between R&C 3 and Tools of destruction.
They can make a long series about this scenario? That Ratchet need like 3 more games too find the Lombaxes?
I could imagine more than one game exploring that area :)

Maybe the explosion was the energy wave that was destroying the universe we were shown at the beginning of ACiT. Yeah, it was before the Clock was built, and it was built because of this to prevent it in the future. But maybe Pollyx didn't know the Clock was built after that and just assumed it always existed.
I thoght that Alisters doings made a hickup and and it created rifts in multiple points in time in the years between ACiT finale and the dissapperence of Lombaxes, because that was a moment he wanted to fix and disrupted the entire balance of the universe in that period.

Also what if... and hear me out... Great Clock didn't explode... YET. But it will, and that will cause the annomalies and time rifts and stuff. Like in the fifth season of Doctor Who, TARDIS (Doctors time machine) exploded and caused the cracks in the structure of time and space... like that would be literally the same! And cracks appear throughout all the time and space but Tardis blows up in the future. I mean it is time-messing stuff we are talking about so why not.

I also really hope that Prog twins will come back. They could be like in the rehabilitation program to be in Polaris defence forces or something. They would be more mature and in control. Vendras powers could make her a great playable character for some extra sections.
My guess, and it is a wild unfounded guess, is that the damage to the clock allowed some of the tears in reality it was keeping sealed up to reopen "retroactively". Were the cracks into the Nether always open due to the future damage to the Clock being a fixed point in "Time"? Or did the Progs simply not exist in Ratchet's timeline until after the Clock was broken, and then suddenly they ALWAYS were there? Ah, time travel. Making for lousy book keeping since five weeks before the big bang. ;p

I really liked ITN, I think is my favorite game from R&C, sad it was too short. I love Vendra’s design and wish we could see more of her in future games

it’s great they still have tie in games with the future saga, it would be great to somehow redeem vendra and neftin in the next game and involve them somehow in the next installment would be a great callback.

ratchet and clank has the best pages of lore like zelda, sly cooper, jak and daxter, and more of my favorite franchises I hope the next game does well
About BTN, I never really considered it canon (going by the Wiki anyways) even though there's a little bit of story to it. Until now that is, but I think it's a good take on the endless runner genre.
I believe it is canon simply due to its promotional material.
Time and time travel is a headache. Same thing was done in Jak 2 and Thieves In Time
Jak's time travel is the worst out of the bunch.

T.J. Fixman really sabotaged himself with his own writing in ItN since it contradicts what he said on twitter and the thing is, is that when it comes to the canon in the series the games take precedent even over the words of T.J. if there's a contradiction which was said by James Stevenson when the current owner of the R&C wiki had asked him about canon.
So in other words the Fongoids being the sole reason the rifts came to be gets ruled out since the it was never said anywhere in-game and T.J.'s tweet gets overruled by ItN with what it said about the rifts and that btw is why I say he sabotaged himself. (edit: I may have misread things which I explain in a response to this comment)
Also keep in mind that the Great Clock can be used to manipulate time so tampering with it could have a ripple effect throughout time so in theory (and yes I'm aware of what I said but this is for peace of mind) Alister switching things back to prevent the critical melt down could of caused a hiccup that may have affected the clock during when it was just built and let some of the reality tearing caused by the Fongoids to slip a little further to allow the rifts to form which would therefore mean what T.J. would make more sense.
IDK it's just that fiction with time travel/ alteration involved can be a right mess when not done right though I know that with Radiant Historia (especially with the Perfect Chronology version) does a better job with time travel IMO so I guess that could be where I get my headcanon from to help make sense of all this.
And one last thing is that I swear Mr. Eye sent the twins on purpose to Ratchet and Clank's dimension at a young age so that way he'd use them as pawns to do his dirty work on finding a way to let himself in to conquer the other dimension but I can't recall where I got that idea or where I might of read that up.
You know I could be misinterpreting this due to the wording not being to concise with the "These dimensional rifts were created long ago by the explosion of The Great Clock." line said by Pollyx as this wording doesn't imply the Fongoids at all since the clock was made after their blunder as it's that "by the explosion of" bit that's the most problematic bit of dialogue.
Maybe if he said something along the lines of "These dimensional rifts were created long ago by the explosion before The Great Clock's creation." things wouldn't so confusing and that could be justified being said if that holo-tape of Orvus talking about the clock's creation was used as historical research.
Also the thing is, is that not all explosions causes physical damage like dynamite does as there can be explosive EMPs which instead disrupts electronics and that blast of energy that occurred after Alister flipped the switch does sort of comes off as an explosion that's like an EMP since it was no doubt quantum energy in nature so that can also cause confusions.
Honestly if this is the case that the Fongoids were the cause of the rifts and not Alister then ItN would have rather weak connections to the future saga as there's barely anything holding them together other than the "choice" that Ratchet has to make which the back of the box mentions.
Vendra is honestly just 😍

Holy shit. I completely forgot about the creepy orphanage. It's like straight from a horror game.
Too bad this game's story didn't really explain anything from the established lore and only added new stuff on top. Felt a bit parallel to all the Lombax vs Cragmite stuff.
Maybe in the next R&C we have answers about this confusing problem lol and my theory is that maybe in the explosion of Azimuth that caused in some parts of the universe time passed differently, I mean in the orphanage the time passed faster, I say it by the scene from the beginning of ACIT Ratchet's ship didn't crash and explode because it stopped in a part of the universe where time passes slowly, I don't know.... the time works very rare in the universe of ratchet and clank anyway great video it's an interesting topic

Yeah, I thought it was kind of funny how you forgot that scene. I mean to me it's easy to remember because the animated part with the Fongoids was just hilariously animated, sounds & everything.
As for Neftin in the 2016 Re-Imagining/film. Well I'm not sure, I mean the film is an in-universe holo-film while the game is Qwark's inaccurate re-telling of the story. But that scene was used in both.

"Vendra served as the 1st step toward the spookier edge of the franchise" ? Does that mean just ITN or future main series titles (2016/film aside)? Very interesting.
This could mean two things, 1- that future game could become darker than we normally get. 2- ITN could be the first step for interdimensional adventure(which could connect to clank taking the dimensionator)
I think they just mean that ITN and those characters were the first time they tried spooky/horror concepts in R&C.

I was revisiting this video when i remembered a theory i saw a while ago on yt about Neftin having been in Dreadzone at some point, which would be where he got his two scorpion flails. This theory was backed up by the Dreadzone posters found inside the twins' hideout in one of the cutscenes in into the nexus. It might not be enough to merit a video on its own, but i think its interesting nonetheless. Like HOW he ended up there seems interesting to me, seeing as a lot of the contestants were actually Heroes, or former heroes (see: Ace Hardlight), though maybe he just went there on his own to prove he never loses in a fight? Would he even have been given one of those deadly collars the crew had to not go too far? What would have Vox thought of this unfairly huge and powerful dude? So many questions left unanswered 👀
I guess thats assuming he wasn't just a huge fan of this gory show, and made his own scorpion flails, which i guess could also be true..

The Great Clock was built after the Fongoids messed up yes. The rifts were a result of their errors.

I would really like to know your opinion VIVI, do you think more information on the final fantasy VII remake will be revealed at E3 next month? There really are a lot of rumours going around saying it's gonna happen and I have a strong feeling it will happen now that kh3 is out in the open. Hey VIVI I was just wondering, did you hear that final fantasy XVI (16) might possibly be in early development. Personskly I really don't know about it. Especially the way square cancelled all the DLC and left it for trash. I don't want 16 to do down that same path but it'll depend on style of gameplay too. Just as long as it's not like 14. I'm not a fan of that style of gameplay.

Ratchet and clank a crack in time was my farvorite game off my life. And i like Ratchet and clank into the Nexus. I was very happy that the series turn olds cool agine after All for one (Qforce) But that wear fine games too me, beausea my brochter could play as Clank wicht me. Back at the Ratchet and clank future and ps2 games, my brochter was always watching me playing. So All for one was a very good game for us 2. About the Vendra and Neftin. I like then as characters. I wish into the Nexus was longer, and that we have a Vendra boss fight. The only scenario in the game could be on the prison ship. That Ratchet trys too save Crunk and Sefver and Vendra want too fight Ratchet. Too Bad that did not happend. I hope we see the prog twins agine? Neftin could become a allian. And Vendra could still be evil? Or the twins will help Ratchet and clank in the next game?
About the Great Clock theroy? I belief that the Nederverse was born after the foxoids crack time. And that the Great clock was build at the same time? And also? Mabbey? That when Azitmud died wicht the Great clock explosion, young Vendra and Neftin wear send 20 years back in the past?

I’ve thought about that scenario but with the ratchet reuniting with the Lombaxes doesn’t mean the narrative has to end there.
If the lombaxes were to return to the Polaris galaxy other conflicts could rise, say other races that don’t approve of the Lombaxes, there all a lot of different ways the series could conclude.

Meten-Goku the Lombax No I mean after they are found conflicts can still arise. Think about all the factions that didn’t like ratchet or teased him because he was a Lombax. It would surprise me if the Lombaxes had other rivals besides the cragmites.
