I've been in that situation before, also in bodega bay. Wind picked up to 20 mph in an instant. Your video footage looked exactly like it, you just have no control over where you are going. Fortunately it went as quickly as it came but for about 15 minutes I also considered calling the coast guard. Scary stuff glad you're alright!
Hi can you tell me what size for the rod and reel that you used in the video to able to handle for crabing ? it is heavy rod ? how long for the rod ? what pounds for the lines and what kind of the reel ? Please ! Thank you very much I am just a beginner and want to learn from your video experience !
You want to use 10ft and above surf rod. Depending on your casting abilities. Myself, I use 12 and 13 ft surf rod. My reels are from 6500 to 10000. I use 30lb to 50lb braid. The lighter the line, the farther you can cast. Hope this helps. Have fun!
I hope you and others find the vid of this person’s tips on processing caught Dungeness crab to be quite helpful. I did. Vid link: ua-cam.com/video/0Wb4FdZpP88/v-deo.html
Definitely need to make more of those short snares. Hopefully it makes a come back next season. Great video bro! 🤙🏼
I was out of breath watching you run from rod to rod, and reeling in those crabs in. The last crab in the sand almost got away ahhah

On a kayak? Yeah dude it's super scary! My heart was POUNDING so hard by the time I came out and my emotions were just numb.
Lessons learned while fishing are almost always expensive 😅
Unfortunately it seems like it 😓

First thing, that's a reel you're using not a wench. If you keep doing that you will strip out the gear and pinion in that reel.
u can crab there?
Ya
Where is this?
