You should compare the three scales with one credible/high end/expensive/professional scale to see if the parameters and measurement are correct or not..comparing those three among themselves will not tell the accuracy of the measurement
Thank you Sander for the excellent review of the 3 smart scales in your video from April this year. Very helpful and helped me make up my mind on what scale I should purchase...I went for the Xiaomi Mi. ;)
Damn, a very well made video with an excellent review. I'm going with Xiaomi. I subbed as well because I was very impressed of your knowledge. Good stuff mate!! 👍
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that someone else has stolen this video and has posted it in their channel, along with many other stolen videos. I have already flagged it.
This is a really good review, exactly what I was looking for. BUT one thing that is missing, is a comparision to a professional scale. You can often find those in gyms and probably many different doctors. I have the Mi Smart Scale 2, great value but I am not yet sure how well it compares to a professional device. When my gym opens back up after Corona I'll have values to compare it.
thanks for this excellent comparison review. Exactly as you said, consistency is the key. I've been looking at body fat scales for hours and all I wanted was 3 things: 1) consistent 2) easy to use app 3) price Xiaomi tics all these boxes. I considered getting a Xiaomi phone earlier this year, ultimately went for S8, but in researching phones I found Xiaomi to be a solid chinese tech company - so I know there will be no major issues with the app - they have the resources to make it work :)
Consistency without accuracy has no value! What's the point of consistency of the readings are not accurate? And since he did not compare the readings to an accurate reference we can not tell for sure which one is accurate, however I would assume that Withings Cardio is the more accurate since it is a company known better in the medical health sector.
@@yassersaeed2010 Actually, I've owned that scale a lot longer now, so if anyone happens to read this, it turned out to be rubbish. After a while I realised the "body fat measurements" where entirely bogus and based entirely on its BMI estimate. The scale also stopped working after about a year. I'm now using a Renpho scale and much happier both with it and its app.
xiaomi is a chinese company. nothing against the people of china, but businesses in china are required to share the data they have with their government. the apps made by chinese developers harvest your data and report back to the CCP. even moreso now, as the US may be entering a cold war with china (or, according to some experts, we already have) you don't want this stuff on your phone or in your house.
You don't have to stand on the withings and wait for it to show all the data. I don't have the cardio model. But the body+ is done when it's done with the weight
Hey! Liked ur review! M about to buy one! But I need a confirmation on to how accurate mi scale is! Is the body fat percentage almost accurate to as u take in a dexa scan(which indicates your fat percentage)
Isn't there a way to compare theses scales results with some professional equipment? I've always heard that electricity takes the shortest way, and the shortest way from one leg to the other is missing a lot of body parts...
Can you tell me if they were both accurate bodyfat? Like I feel that people say Xiaomi is not accurate enough, so now I'm willing to buy withings or rephon
hey nice video! but i have one question. i know that you need the mi app to see your results, but do you need to have the app open during the measurement? thanks
Subscribed and liked, you have put in a lot of effort thanks for the review. Just one thing i would have liked in this video is a comparison between a medical grade bmi machine to these scales to know which scale was the closest
i don’t know because i don’t have one but you can go with the socks to measure yourself but my problem is how good is xiaomi with apple for example many times my band disconnected automatically and is with bluetooth… so i guess is not good ……

The heart and pulse was removed with an update from the withings Cardio. Apparently it wasn't accurate enough anyway the cheaper body+ is a better buy.
Nice vid. Would've been more helpful if you had gone and got your measurements taken by a dietician so we could have a target when comparing the devices accuracy
Withings body + weight tracks ok. But! - fat, water, bone, muscle monitoring is inaccurate. Variations of 5 to 7 kgs daily is not even close to accurate. worst purchase in a very long time.
For my use this video is completely useless. Neither do I use Apple Health nor Google Fit Apps. Indeed the App environment is a very important point. But that's also very individual and you should devide it into scales for user groups (my idea). Second there is indeed a medical correct scale for bone, fat, water and muscles percentage. Those very expensive scales use 4 points for measuring those percentages! All your three scales mesure only the lower part of the body and calculate then those percentages (fat, bones, water and muscles). That cannot be very percise! :P For my use I'd need either the (too expensive) Garmin scale or (what I prefer) a cheaper scale where I add the body weight manually. However in a separate app I see all those (not percise details). As long as there is no standard that allows apps where you track your calories to add those scales (or your fitness app) this is the compromis I use!
Xiaomi is terrible im male 5.10ft 36 years old fairly good shape the app says i have a BMI of 32% obese only have a tiny bit of puppy fat around belly and my ideal weight should be 115 pounds / 8.2 stone that sounds pretty dangerous. the hydration level always show dehydrated never changes protein too even when im bulking with high protein meals , and the app only works after i hold the power reset trick trash product.
You should compare the three scales with one credible/high end/expensive/professional scale to see if the parameters and measurement are correct or not..comparing those three among themselves will not tell the accuracy of the measurement
Azwan Azli right, he measured precision, not accuracy
You are 100% correct.
Body composition cant accurately be measured through electrodes in a scale. Its a gimmick at best.
@@drkastenbrot It's not a gimmick, it is an estimated measurement like so many things.

I just bought the Xiaomi one for 28 euros. Best bang for the buck. I don’t need the extra features offered by the super overpriced withings scale
Great video subbed!
However you could have cleared the air by taking an actual test of the said parameters to check the credibility of the scales
You make such great comparisons! This has helped me so much in order to choose a scale!
xiaomi for the win !
uff you save me. I dont know why but you are the one who is clear giving information about the smart scales. Thanks, 1 more sub
I admire the effort you put in this review. Keep it up!
Thank you Sander for the excellent review of the 3 smart scales in your video from April this year. Very helpful and helped me make up my mind on what scale I should purchase...I went for the Xiaomi Mi. ;)
So after 6 month what's your opinion on Xiaomi mi scale?

Please do an update on scales of 2019 and if you could please include the yunmai smart scale thanks

good review thanks. In China the xiaomi one costs merely $20.. at this price it's a nobrainer :)
Great clip. Thanks dude. I just want an updated version of this 2019

Hola aun te funciona bien la bascula de xiomi ,los datos de peso general son confiables,y los de uso con la app seran confiables tambien.
Why you stopped making these? 🔥🔥

Thank you so much for this review and your honesty. I really appreciate that.
Can you sync to Fitbit from Xiaomi though? I know you can with the Withings which for me as a Fitbit person is Important
How does it measure body composition just by stepping on it? Whats the methodology?
I was struggling between Xiaomi and Nokia, Very nice review, thanks for your work
This is a great review bro. Nice that you compare the with actual weighing and touch on the subject of apple healthkit.
what a great comparison video, really detail and right into the point
thank you! very thorough. you've just helped me reach my conclusion for the smart scale.
Good review! Very informative! I'm gonna get the xiaomi scale!

well done mate, nice review, i will buy the cheapest xiaomi scale, vfm! Thanx!
Can someone tell me if the display can be changed into lbs?
I have a Xiaomi scale and I can set it on imperial units through the mi fit app. Don't know about other two scales.
My xiaomi scale has 2 option - lbs and kgs
Even the non smart cheap body scale have those option...(well atleast the two i have different brands has them) so smart should have them.
2021 update please
