I bought this machine in December and I am sooo in love with it. I do a LOT of quilting and its so fast and stitches so well all the time. I told my husband that everytime I sit down at this machine I have a smile on my face.
I returned the crappy built Babylock Jazz II on June 6 and left the Sewing shop with this New Juki Haruka ...Yes it is so impressive, and so far I love it. I needed a machine I could sew Heavy Weight stuff thru as my 22 year old Bernina 1997 signature Edition 1530 would take almost everything I thru at her, she is getting so old but still running. Lites gave out 10 years ago, and 2-3 years after that the backstitch gave out. I work around all that, but still need the zigzag, and stretch stitch features that this doesn't have. Juki Haruka is a powerhorse no doubt. Thanks for explaining the Micro Lift. Yesterday I shortened the Webbing Straps on a Carhartt Tool Belt with the Juki Haruka.... didn't adjust anything, or change to a heavyier needle, just sewed thru that webbing, and She sewed those double layers like BUTTER...I am still in shock. So glad I got Her.
It’s hard to give up on our old tried and true machines. I have a 1970s Elna Super that is still my favorite. Now I have ventured into embroidery options havine brother , janome, babylock serger and just got a juki 2010. But none of the new machines purrs luke my elna. I replaced the elna light bulb for 1st time about 4 yrs ago. Am enjoying new machines and their features.
Out of all of the videos I have watched so far nobody talked about that upper tension knob that takes the bend out of the thread. I did find an excellent video on how to thread it was either this machine or the 2010 she had excellent close-up shots in case anybody is still having trouble let me know I’ll post the link here in case this guy (has not posted one) maybe he’s already done The video on this since this was a year ago
I just bought this machine and would so love to see the videos you mentioned you would make about free motion quilting and turning the machine with larger table to do so.
Thank you for showing this ,I have just bought it and haven't really had time to try out . I suppose I was a bit apprehensive but after seeing this I'm going to have a go. I cannot wait for your other videos please keep them coming.
Great tutorial! I just purchased this machine today and am excited to learn to use it's features. Looking forward to additional videos. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for describing the different features on the TL-18, but I’m still a little unclear on how the micro-lifter functions going from two layers of fabric to eight layers without the presence of electronic sensors. For example, I watched a different video on this feature that focused the camera close-up on the foot area while he turned the micro-lifter from the first line to the red line. I could see the presser foot actually lift off the feed dogs as he turned the knob. So that left me wondering how that was really any different than reducing the presser foot pressure in terms of effect. Now you mentioned that the presser foot pressure (downward force on the fabric) remains the same even when the micro-lifter is engaged. I still don’t see how the machine exerts the same amount of pressure on two layers of fabric as it supposedly does on six or ten layers of fabrics just by engaging the micro-lifter before starting to sew on the fabric where this layer difference exists. I’m not sure I’m adequately explaining my question, and I apologize for that. Without electronic sensors and computerized functionality, I just don’t understand how the machine can exert the appropriate level of pressure when the layers being stitched rapidly change from one extreme to another.
I do understand your question. I too questioned Bob the same thing. I admit I don’t thoroughly get it either but it does seem to hold the same pressure on the several layers of fabric. I really love the feature and it works great but I really can’t explain how. ~~~Lori
Great Video! I can't wait to bust my baby out the box, just arrived today! Ill be looking forward to more video thank you for the review! very detailed
excellent demo....I just bought this machine, I love it, but broke my needle because I did not notice one of the darning feet swivels? oh, well lesson learned.
Where should I have my Foot Presser pressure dial set when sewing through many layers/thick fabrics. Also where should it be set for just regular (2layer) sewing?
Is it common for this machine to shift the fabric side to side instead of feeding straight like you demonstrated also when feeding fabric through any horizontal seams get caught on the throat plate which seems to be sticking up some. I bought this and am used to a pfaff and I haven’t been happy with this machine.
Unless Juki moved the knee kick installation hole placement way over to the right, you cannot even use the knee kick bar. It sits so far to the left that you cannot sit in front of the needle bc the knee kick bar is in the way. This was very disappointing bc the knee kick is a selling point that is worthless, unfortunately.
Really upgrades are not worth the extra $500.00 compared to the 2010. The knee lift on the 2010 can do the same as the micro lifter. It’s just a status thing like every other hobby.
The low-volume makes it impossible to watch this video unfortunately. You should take into consideration that people watch these videos on their phone and you have to boost the volume so they can hear it. I'll have to go to another video to learn about this machine because I cannot hear your voice and my volume is full blast.
I agree the problem is likely with your phone. If you are having trouble hearing, I suggest you utilize earbuds vs the external speaker on your phone to hear the video. 99% of the time you will be able to hear the video content perfectly fine with earbuds/earphones. Problem solved.

Please show more videos on this machine. I learned a couple things I wasn’t understanding on my machine. Thank you for your video. Very helpful.

Thank you for showing this ,I have just bought it and haven't really had time to try out . I suppose I was a bit apprehensive but after seeing this I'm going to have a go. I cannot wait for your other videos please keep them coming.
I bought this machine and I am interested in a video showing the free motion quilting and table you talked about.
yes, I would like that, too

Great demonstration. Learned things I didn’t know and I’ve been using this for a year.
fantastic demo!
Great video. I was looking for an explanation of this machine and you did that very well. Thanks
I would like to see the other videos you said you would make for this machine.
the volume is fine.
Me too
Great video, the micro lifer is awesome 🤗

Great Video! I can't wait to bust my baby out the box, just arrived today! Ill be looking forward to more video thank you for the review! very detailed
Thank you so much for explaining this!!!!
look forward to more videos! thank you for the info.
Where is your video on turning the machine to quilt like you say in your video?
Great video!!
When will you do the free motion quilting video?
Great demonstration! Ty
Thank you so much!
Hello!! Great video. Are you able to tell me if this machine was made in Japan?
I was wondering that, also.
Mine is made in Vietnam
I can't wait. I just got mine.
excellent demo....I just bought this machine, I love it, but broke my needle because I did not notice one of the darning feet swivels? oh, well lesson learned.
very helpful video!

Does it have a stitch regulator?
No
Can you sew heavy duty jeans on this machine?
Price range?
How do you decide if to use the micro lift function versus walking foot for thick fabric?
Any chance you could make a tutorial like this for the TL 2020 PE too? :)
Is the harp area bigger or smaller than the tl 2010?
Why was the bobbin area bouncy
Saludos , podrían colocar subtítulo en español. Estoy seriamente comprar este modelo ,pro no veo tutoriales con subtítulo.
Por fin e😊ncontre al vídeo con sub títulos

Tl-18 straight stitcher with micro lifter. We have them in stock.
Do you cut the thread with needle up or needle down?
Up

Not a fan of that threader, in fact I have never had a successful execution, just less frustrating to do it the old fashioned way.
Its difficult for some. Once a person sees how to perform it properly it's nice. Ill try to do a video just on the threader. That should help.
Really upgrades are not worth the extra $500.00 compared to the 2010. The knee lift on the 2010 can do the same as the micro lifter. It’s just a status thing like every other hobby.
but doesnt the micro lifter raise it even higher? So the 2010 couldnt do that?
The low-volume makes it impossible to watch this video unfortunately. You should take into consideration that people watch these videos on their phone and you have to boost the volume so they can hear it. His voice was perfectly clear. Thinking the problem is your phone.

I found the volume very good and I usually am irked when sound is not clear.
