The once core brands Billabong, Quicksilver, and Vans earned their spots from selling to core surf shops. The core surf shops bought their overpriced goods and built these companies into big companies. Then the Vans and Quicksilvers took their product away and sold out for money, hurting the entire core real deal lifestyle surf shops and core surf families of the world that built them and their lives around surfing. It's so sad how the core surf life some many core surfers built there life around was stolen from them.
This is almost exactly what happens. Surf Shops build brands, brand get greedy and produce more and cheaper and is stuck with overstock. They then sell the overstock at Marshalls or TJMAX and undercut the core's pricing structure. At that exact moment is when the company jumps the shark - when it sells out the core.
Very surprised no live stream for the pipe masters, other than Nate. Even the Aloha Classic (windsurfing) had great coverage. Some of the upclose drone shots were amazing.
No one has mastered drone shots during the actual surf contest (other than standard above shots). Maybe one day they will figure out how to make it more cinematic for surfing.
I have to chime in. As a longboard surfer for many years I only exclusively purchase Harbour Surfboards. They have been shaping my boards for over 25 years. I could go on and on about how rad Rich Harbour is and the shapers that have been there and the amazing people that are there now. I can honestly say that Harbour Surfboards are the finest and most legit core in Southern California.
Ready for the Knuckle Sandwich 2.0 out of a PU orange density blank with a synthetic stringer, wrapped with 4 × 6 with 4 deck patch and lammed with epoxy resin. It would be the same shape as the original but adding a quarter inch tail rocker and slightly rounding the tucked edge in the fore 2/3. Gonna be magic!

Scott was joking, but he also wasn't haha. He's a spiritual guy with his heart in the right place... we all say things in the moment. At the end of the day, having less material goods is the way to live if being peaceful is a goal. We don't really need all these "things"

Best thing in surfing this week was the JJF 13 minute Australia edit. ❤

Seal Beach since 1959... can't go wrong. How many do you currently have in your rotation?

Sounds like a recipe for fun!
David ask Scotty how many board’$ in his garage! We’ve had bets on it for years!
What's you guess? Not sure if Scott even knows how many he has hahaha
Scott Bass is a rockstar great job🦏
He does, in fact, play a mean guitar!
If you’re a foodie check out Harbor House Inn in Elk CA! 30 minutes S of Mendocino
What's the deal?
@ look it up! Incredible place
Will the WSL step up and buy the naming rights to the pipe masters back?
Zero chance.
what do you think?

You're probably right, but why add that much stress to your life buying a surf tour that has never made money?

Not "alternative boards" but realistic for the conditions most of us surf. I couldnt surf a thruster to safe my life.
At a certain age, even if you can ride a thruster... it's no longer as much fun
Totally agree re Nathan's commentary. I would like him do The Eddie as he really does it best!
Wonder if the Eddie is streaming?
!!!
I’ve been watching Pipe Masters on Nathan Florence’s channel. He’s entertaining but the surf is garbage.
exactly! will you keep watching?
