Eu odeio oq o revival fez com a Lorelai e o Richard. Eles nao estavam perfeitos, mas o final da 7ma temporada dava a entender que eles ja tinham superado as coisas ruins, que estavam superando tudo, ele inclusive reconhece que ela teve uma vida incrivel e que conseguiu ter uma vida boa e ser uma mãe incrivel pra Rory. Nada tem como competir com aquela cena. O monologo é bonito, mas nao é tao profundo quanto aquele reconhecimento e eu esperava ver a Lorelai em outro patamar... E acho que a Lauren tambem pq ela e a Alexis tem sido tao firmes ao dizerem que chegaram ao fim
I love this part, but Lorelai says that Richard was standing there with a pretzel. That means he left his daughter sitting there, crying in a food court.
Why is that bad? It shows that he understood why she was so upset and he wanted to get her a pretzel to comfort her. She was probably sitting close to the pretzel cart, so he assumed that's what she wanted 🤷♀️
I think everyonw has his own "style" to comfort someone. I am more the listener, my dad is more the here I buy a pretzel type. And sometiens I was always angry because he always bought some rather then just listen to me. But now I know its his art and he is not good in talking. Also with my friends. Some want that I listrnd, other need distraction and other just want to be alone till they stable again
Actually, I think that she would have noticed him walking away and coming back. To me, the implication is that he had gotten a pretzel for himself, hidden it behind his back when he noticed her, then gave it to her to comfort her. I like the idea that Richard sometimes secretly snuck off to the mall to indulge in junk food because that would be a trait he shared with Lorelai
That’s not a bad thing, plus he never left he was still nearby getting her food. Sometimes you just need to cry your heart out. Once Lorelai finally looked up he was right there, which means he had gotten the pretzel and waited for her to look up. She said it felt like forever so she was crying for a good while and he was patiently waiting.
