Gotta give it to Acola to not use diamond the first game and then play with a brand new controller and a fresh Kazuya. Steve sure is busted, but he got that skill and confidence even to win not using his full potential.
He's way, way better than someone like Onin, on Steve, and on the game overall (techs, fundamentals, ..) there's absolutely no doubt about it imo

@@Gaenico I can't say way better right now. Better with more characters yeah. Way better? Onin 3-0d the best in the world, beat Riddles Twice, and was Gluto the other? He beat like 5 or 6 top players within that tourney tho. People are downplaying him honestly. Everyone didn't wanna give Acola credit unless he beat Leo, then Onin does and people still discredit him, waiting with the "MU check" in their back pocket.

Don’t want to take too much away from Acola, but man I really don’t understand how there are still people who try to argue that Steve isn’t the clear and obvious top 1 in this game.
Just look at the 2nd stock in game 5: a combo to get him all the way up to 50 and put Cosmos at ledge, a couple stray hits get him to 90, and then a super fast, super safe, super ginormous f-smash hits him center stage at 90% to kill him *convincingly.*
This character is beyond ridiculous. I’m fully convinced there’s officially only one “top tier” character, and it is Steve. Every other character in the game simply can’t be categorized with him: he’s that much higher than the rest.
Uh lol, did you watch the same match everyone else did? Cosmos was on the right track but didn't quite pull it off, and Acola himself mentioned after the match that blocks being used against steves is an issue in some matchups
The final stock was taken from Steve's b-air at 101%, center stage on Final Destination. That is extremelhy powerful, especially for a disjoint with relatively quick frame data.
