Growing up a Rutgers fan I've seen one year of success in their sports. The 2006 Rutgers Football team. Now that the basketball is good and the football team is on the incline, Rutgers has a bright future in sports and I'm all for it.
Seeing this video a month later with #11 Rutgers. The great state of New Jersey deserves this shit, thank you Rutgers Basketball and Football for giving this state something to be proud of in the past 9 months. Thank you so much
Watching them last year was insane.I just had transferred and Rutgers was going insane and dominating at home.so tragic what happened w the tourney last year but they still have that as motivation this year I think it’ll be exciting to watch them play
I enjoyed your video. As an alumnus of Rutgers who has followed this program from the 2006 season which has been a long long time. I am also a season ticket holder for RU and I have high expectations for this current team. NCAA Tournament is the expectation but they can go far in the tournament for sure depends on how healthy they are at that time. Steve Pikiell is a miracle worker for this program because before him it was not fun to watch except for when Mike Rice Jr was here and he beat some ranked teams. Pikiell has something going and has restored the magic of Rutgers basketball. I think they win 20+ games and finish 4th in the conference. They are currently 24th in the preseason poll which they will have that ranking at the start of the season for most of the year hopefully. They can compete with Michigan St for sure and you should definitley come to a game one season it's fun and it gets really loud. Go RU!
Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan St, Michigan, and Rutgers are probably the 6 frontrunners this year and I expect all of them to finish in the top 20.
With the front court size, we recruited, I want to see if we can better slow or contain a juggernaut like Garza. Plus we may have possibly found a stretch 4.
Rutgers student now but went to Texas Tech for my undergrad and that team definitely deserves a video too. They're at AP #14, have some huge recruits, and also just got a new practice facility. Plus- Chris Beard. Enough said.
Keep an eye out for Mawot Mag... Kid is very underrated and super athletic. Oskar Palmquis is although name to remember. The kid can shoot the three and also a very well rounded player.
My one worry for us is how we (I’m a Rutgers fan) did so well because of our home court advantage and without the fans, we may not do as good. Still, I think the talent is there for the team to succeed.
As somebody who was a student leader of the band over the past 2 seasons, I think a major thing that contributed to the team's development and success over couple of years is the crowd causing a serious home-court advantage. Because of the shape, size, and consistent sellouts of our arena, it would get extremely loud in there, compared to other venues, so opposing teams were not prepared. Another aspect of the home-court advantage is the nastiness that we exude. People from Jersey aren't nice. As somebody who proudly lived in New Jersey for the first 22 years of my life, we are mean. We have caused opposing players to cry on the sideline, and I personally have developed some beef with Pat Chambers. All of that being said, because of the lack of fans, which Rutgers announced was going to be the case, on Friday 11/6 (I think), I think Rutgers fans will be disappointed a bit. While the addition of Cliff definitely will be a bonus, I think altogether, the team will probably finish at just over .500.
Good for Rutgers. NJ has a ton of talent and Rutgers is a good school so I figured with the right coach, they had the potential to become a force (look at Seton Hall's recent success). And as a Penn State grad, I hope Sandy Barbour is paying attention after allowing Pat Chambers to run the program into the ground for nine seasons. The right coach can make all the difference
i feel like this season the teams that can travel and win on the road like a virginia, villanova, texas tech and even rutgers will make a huge run this march
Illinois is definitely going to be a problem this season💯 I believe ayo is still there, kofi, and they have this freshman Andre Curbelo. They would make for a great video
We also have freshman Alex Miller and senior Trent Frazier. All of which will be big impact players. Illinois is one of, and on paper is arguably the scariest of teams in the Big 10 as well as the country.
@@jakobtheodore8805 agreed, Schmidt is a phenomenal coach. Like you said has to be one of the most underrated in the nation. Bonnies have a very bright future. Bonaventure beat Rutgers without Osun also.
Just saw this video -- " One of the best "? Hmm, I do not think so . What have they won? No BIG championship , no preseason tournament or who has been drafted by the NBA ? Let's give Coach P another three or four seasons and see what he wins . By the way Stonybrook when to one NCAA in over 15 years --- one . Their pre conference schedule is one of the weakest in the country --- so some of those wins are against small D1 teams
My teammates and I appreciate the love man! Its gonna be a great year for us and our fans. 18 more days! ⚔️🛡
