Could we possibly see a How To Sound Like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard?
Nothing that sounds as good as that delicious desert rock tone from Josh Homme
I love this just as much as I loved the first one. Please do Kyuss too!!
Love the ethereal Spiders and Vinegaroons sounds!
qotsa first 3 records tone is basically always a combination of the Ovation with an sd-1 always on (vol. max, tone max, gain zero) used as a treble boost (remember that he loves Billy Gibbons tone) with different amps. Live tone until 2003 it's the same but with the V4b mainly. Live, when he didn't use the sd-1 always on, but only for solos, it's because he used a Dallas Rangemaster clone made by Dan Druff (his guitar tech). You can hear this very clearly on the 2002 tour with Grohl. The Maestro/Stone Deaf thing is based on the same principle, he's boosting the high-mids, in the same way and around the same freqs of the Sd-1 or the Rangemaster Clone (it's a one knob black pedal usually in the middle of his two boards from that period, except for the 2002 tour where's first in the chain). All these infos are solid gold :)
Ive never known how much I needed a video to exists until now
Love seeing that Eastwood GP copy. A modern classic.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club would be a great video
Great demo! I love the appreciation for the self titled album in this one.
Dude ! That was spot on ! Even the bass sound surprised me, using a MusicMan instead of a P Bass worked really nice, seamlessly blending with the guitars.
i subbed you when i saw your first sound like QOTSA video .. such as talent !
Omg dude, that was amazing. Stellar replication, impressed beyond expectations.
Wow! Cool revision! Nailed it my friend! The sounds on Mexicola and No one knows,... just wow. So rich and full. Loved how you made the mini humbuckers sound with rich low end, and retain still the rest of their character. Can't wait for the Kyuss video. By the way, can you do a video with suggesting budget gear, pedals etc, for a decent result close to this one? I know it could be a challenge!
Sounds great! Awesome work.
This is amazing! Please, do more of these Sound Like series!
Great video man, love everything Qotsa
Nailed it! I've missed this series, hope they're are some more to come :)
Holy shit man. I think this is worth the long wait for this video. Thank you so much, this is so bloody on point. All the tones are so similar to the originals. They are like the exactly the same. I think Josh now have to worry about finding his new tone, because you are showed how he gets his sound. 😅
Great video!
