Cape Wrath Ultra | Episode 3 | Glenfinnan to Kinloch Hourn

- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- The Cape Wrath Ultra is a multi day event covering some 380 kilometres of the Scottish Highlands from Fort William in the south to the Cape Wrath Lighthouse at the north west tip of Scotland. The adventures lasts eight days and Episode Three covers Day Two of the run.
In Episode Three, we run 54km from the Glenfinnan Viaduct to the shores of Loch Hourn. Having gone off fast on Day One I resolved to start at a more sedate pace on Day Two and it was all going well until.... Well, I'll let you see for yourselves..

Congrats on seeing that day through, I think we’ve all had those runs when the demons in your head tell you that you can’t do this but you faced them down! 💪 ….. PS I can’t believe this series isn’t gaining more views, this is by far the best ‘real world’ record of this race from a competitor’s point of view that I’ve seen, top job 👍
Thank you Stephen, more great memories from 2024, perhaps not those last 10k, I echo your challenge. The deer in the loch were beautiful. Day 3 next 😱
Cheers Stuart, yea Day Three was interesting!!
I had 2 cups of coffee whilst I settled in to watch this episode. No one in my family dares to disturb me while I watch Film my Run. The drama is real Stephen can’t wait for the next episode!!
Thanks Sandra. Meltdown day on Day Three! haha
Loving following this journey along (I remember it in realtime on FB while you were there and Victoria did some updates). I know what's coming and still can't wait! :)
Love the closing of the gate 😂! Great video, especially after listening to the Trail & Error podcast. Even knowing what happens doesn’t dampen the drama unfolding in this series. I cannot wait for the next one!!
@@robertshrimpton100 thanks Robert! Country code always close gates!! 😂😂
That scenery looks epic. Nice cliffhanger at the end! ;-)
Day Three next. That was a bit of a turning point
Looks bloody hard that terrain, well done though for pushing through.
Thanks Marc. The editing of the videos is almost as tough!!
The Rough Bounds is an unforgiving place. That was a good watch.
Thank you
What a lovely course…..but so tough…..very well done! 👍🍷
Many thanks Emlyn!
Thanks, Stephen for such great videos! So many good memories from last year's edition.
Thanks for watching. I hope the memories are good haha!
Fantastic going Stephen, that scenery is beautiful 👌🏻
@@paulmulks cheers Paul. It was stunning
Amazing thanks for this evenings viewing 🍿🍿 and well done mate
You're welcome. Only 6 more episodes to go!
Really well done. It shows you how tough the route is when your estimate is that far off doesnt it. Cant wait for tomorrow!
I know! Every day seemed to have a sting in the tail.
Noticed you running in compression shorts, I've got a similar multi day ultra in a couple weeks and wondering if it's worth purchasing a pair? Love the channel, cracking effort so far in the cape wrath ultra, looking forwards to the following vids 👍
@@DM_RUNNING hi there. I would suggest running in what you are most comfortable wearing. You could buy compression shorts and test them out beforehand. I don’t actually wear them for compression but rather for comfort and reduced chafing.
Loving all these episodes, rather you than me at the moment that's for sure aha
Thanks guys. I have another 5 of these to edit every week!!
Fabulous! I’m not sure I can take day 3 next week, I remember how bad you felt 😂
Thanks Tina. Yea, Day Three will be interesting viewing! I may moan a bit.
Another damn good watch , I noticed you carry flasks with the built in filters
@@alanwetherelt7155 yes I’ve found them invaluable for many of the races I do. In fact the day I got them, lots of runners were sick from drinking run off glacier water in the Pyrenees. Thanks for watching!
Well done mate 😊
@@zwangsbeglucker thanks!
Thanks again Stephen, im currently giving these a 2nd watch as prep for 2025. I noticed when filling up water you just went straight in submerging your shoes. I assume you weren't worried about maceration/happy that your feet will dry out enough so as not to cause an issue? I feel it'd not want to risk it. Or were they already wet from another river crossing? Thanks.
@@sparky27rb yea most of the time you won’t keep your feet dry anyway and then sometimes it’s so hot it’s just lovely to put your feet in the water. It depends how bad your feet generally get. Mine are usually ok
Well done Stephen. Bumped into another runner today at a coffee van stop, I was actually out on my motorbike. Turns out it was your fellow vollie from last year, Pippa! 😁
@@ianl4518 aaaah I loved Pippa. R had such a good time last year! Thanks Ian!
