    Fantastic film and another great effort on your behalf. Like someone else already has pointed out, you´re one of the best to document these tough races. You give us updates from almost all the aid stations and you always tell how far in the race you´ve come. And I´m glad you include the moaning and complaining. It´s part of the story😊. Also the signature comment - "my feet are absolutely shattered!!"😆😆

    Well done Stephen! Truly impressive, you really show grit and determination. I really can relate to not wanting to film in those dark times, but it really does bring the reality of the race and the effort you put in to the viewers. You can rest well and be assured that despite the pain, exhaustion and trench foot, you've certainly inspired me to take this race on and I'm sure many others. Thank you. Rest well.

    Another great video Stephen and really shows what the L100 is all about. It's more than a 100 miler, its the family feel to it. Also many congratulations on finishing it. For me this year it was a DNF. I had finished the 100 miler last year but i started with a stress fracture or bad sprain on my big toe. I was nursing it and was doing well but with the sharp rocks by the time i got to 50 miles i could barely walk on that foot. The rest of the body was good but i was so worried i could mess up my foot more seriously and called it a day. To be honest i don't regret having to stop. It's what i had to do. Me and you was pretty much nearby for a big chunk of the first part and i would have said hi but i think you went past me at an aid station. After i got back to the school i was checking on you, Spencer and the rest of the people i knew who was doing it and i was so happy when you got that medal. Over 2 weeks on and i still haven't run, just nursing my foot. It is getting better though and it's already on my mind will i or won't i sign up for next year? We'll see ;) Catch you soon.

    Way to go! Do they not give belt buckles for 100s in the UK? I guess it does seem rather American, now that I stop to think about it.
    Also, appreciate the longer editing, voice overs, and care taken with this one. Nice final product.

      Actually most 100s in the UK do follow the Western States tradition of giving a buckle. It just happens that this one doesn’t.

    How were the feet and how would you rate the speed goats for the 100 distance compared to anything else you have. Also, what could you have done to avoid trashing your feet? I have looked forward to and enjoyed the whole series. Really appreciate all the effort you have put into them.

    • @FilmMyRun

      Feet recovered well afterwards and legs recovered very quickly, mostly because I didn’t run very much!! I think I should probably have done some foot care at the Dalemain checkpoint. That might have helped. But it was just soooooo wet all the way round. Speedgoats are my go to trail shoe for long distance. The cushioning and comfort are perfect for me in 99% of situations.

    • @FilmMyRun
      @FilmMyRun  Рік тому +1

      Hi! So, yes I said that in the heat of the moment after finishing Lakeland, which was particularly tough partly because of the weather. In hindsight I would say they are probably equally tough for a first timer. The more I did the ARC the easier it got because I knew it so well. As for the others. TDS is by far the hardest of all of those. CCC was tough but looking back I was probably not prepared enough for it and if I went back I'd be hoping to do a lot better than I did. If you can do the ARC and CCC then Lakeland will probably feel about the same.

    • @FilmMyRun
      @FilmMyRun  Рік тому

      Hi there. There's nothing magic about the stick! It's simply a blind spot below the two lenses of the 360 camera. This allows the stick to appear invisible....which is handy

    Gosh you are so late to the party. Cant believe its taken you so long to get round to doing it considering you've done some other mammoth stuff. I think, and this may apply to you that a lot of people are put off because its classed as being self navigating and you need to be able to read a map and follow a road book buts its not like the Dragons Back where thats more critical. Ive finished the LL100 3 times and love it, every part of it, but hate the fact that its popularity has got so big that to get a place now you have to go into a lottery. When I first done it you could still get a place on the 100 weeks before turning up. Also interesting to hear you say its harder than the Arc. I would totally agree on that point as I have never finished the Arc but I think thats just because of the time of year rather than how hard it actually is.

    • @FilmMyRun
      @FilmMyRun  2 роки тому +1

      Hahaha, honestly I've tried to get in for about 7 years. Was always too slow on the button in the early years and then this is the first time I've been drawn in the lottery! I think, with hindsight, it's a tough call between Lakeland and the Arc. I've recovered a lot quicker from LL100, probably because I didn't run very much of it!!

      Bad conditions more than anything and a mistake in not carrying out foot care at half way. My feet were trashed by 50 miles because they were constantly wet.
