- We dug too deep, and too greedily. We lost our home. But this time will be different ... as long as we have beer.
Another exploratory, chill Biotech run before we get into the super challenging stuff! This time we're testing out custom Xenotypes, genes, and children! ...lots and lots of children.
This is the first ever edited stream run for the channel! It will be a learning process. I am both excited and anxious to get these out to you! Be nice, lol.

*No Pause - Adam is using a mod that disables pause in every portion of the game. This means it is impossible for him to pause with a key press and the game will not pause during events or trade, making things much more difficult.
** Losing is Fun set to +500% is the hardest difficulty in unmodded RimWorld

This is the first edited (non guide) video on the channel! This will be a learning process for both me and the editor, be nice! :P
The goal was to still have the same chill feel from a normal full-length vod, but to condense it for easier watching. The ultimate goal will be to have one of these out to you every weekday and a guide every weekend (eventually).
Like the long form content more or want to watch both? Never fear! That will also continue. I may test putting them on a different channel or still just add them here as well. We'll see. This is all very experimental.

I am actually always interested by your Rimworld runs but I do not have the time to watch 3 to 4 hours video x15. I really like that you will have edited serie

Hm. It's might be possible to record mic audio into another file, silent the main video and split with mic sound only and put music afterwards to avoid music clipping between different fragments.
(So you get 6 hours of mic only video and then put the music into chosen fragments)

I’m so happy to see your runs in this format. I like watching the vods but I just don’t have time to watch the long format. I hope the experiment is successful and they continue. Great video btw
@@somethingspecial678 The likely reason this didn't happen is because the music is from ingame Rimworld - the music is tied to the UI sound effects and other stuff. Adam would need to have a third party program running his Rimworld music during streaming to properly split things off that way. Editting videos is more than just editting videos, unforunately...
I also like his content but the longform vods are just impossible to get through - I don't have the physical time to commit to that. So I hope the teething isn't too bad. The chopping itself was done very well, only the audio really leapt out as something to focus on working on.
Awesome start! Really loved the editing. It wasn't too much but funny in the right places. No real weird cuts and it was kept coherent and didn't feel like it was all over the place.

Great editing. Way more digestible for one sitting. Being able to focus on the more relevant bits and skipping the sleepy times is a QOL change I cannot praise enough.
Same for me. I like the long for content while I'm watching the stream, but if I want to "catch up" on parts of a run I missed this is much more consumable. Great stuff. Looking forward to more.
Fantastic job. I've seen the entire original vod, and didn't feel like anything was missing here. This is especially nice for folks with a limited viewing schedule. Many days it's impossible for me to watch a 7 hour vod, but I can almost always make time for a 30 minute condensed version.
My 2 cents for the editor:
I love it as well! I much prefer it. I hadn't watched the original, but it seems like a few questions' were skipped by Adam, such as if being in the corner would make deep drilling annoying later; I really like to learn from these answers, and it is a big part of what brings me to the channel.
I hope this works out for you just as long as you keep the full vods on youtube too! Best of both worlds! People can watch whatever version they want!
So far I really enjoyed the format. Its quicker paced, but still 30 minute episodes. I would still whatch even if they were like 40-50 mins. About the editing, its still early to tell, but your aditor added some funny stuff without being lame or too annoying. Great job, I will be here next video to give more feedback
Edited videos are so funny! I was used to watch vods until now, but the funny edits are in a whole new level
LOVE this edited/short-form version video! It was a lot easier to keep track of everything going on, and the editing style was great. I especially loved how you popped the twitch comment onto the screen when you were answering them w/out reading the whole thing. Really enjoying your Biotech content! :)
Opinion: Love the short form content. I will also watch the long form over the course of the day, but I think the editor has captured a lot and done well with the cuts.
Potentially unpopular opinion: Not a fan of the extra gimick noises edited in. Whatever works for the highest target crowd.

Imma be straight up honest I can't stand streams, watching them, doing them, but MY MAN! You did such a solid and helpful job with this you got me going to watch the full one. Keep up the boss work man.
I quite liked it ! Pretty good editing, quite subtle, not too obnoxious (only one fart, which is not too bad 😂), I liked the highlighted questions, the zoom-ins. All and all nothing much to say apart to keep them coming !

I love how I finally sit down to watch this, you mention lore, I think "you're going in the book" you say it literally a second after I think it, and then you tell those who dont know to not worry about it

I'm glad you kept the set up, ideology explanation, pawn choice, etc. I like to play along and see how my game goes compared to yours :) If you ever find set up too long for a half hour edited video, consider a "Part Zero" video that's nothing but the set up.

Eyy.. That was pretty damn good! I usually watch the long formattet videos but the pacing, editing and highlights are quite neatly edited together and forms a nice viewing experience! Credit to your new editor, I think they'll do great. :)

this is the second edited series I'm checking out and I'm loving the edits to be honest. The pacing is great. I don't feel like I'm missing anything. Really enjoying it!
I do like the full VODs too as sometimes I leave you up for background noise.
I'm a big fan of the full vods, I love being able to watch it for hours, with it being edited it feels like I'm missing out on a lot.
It's not so bad... But if feels like there are too many cuts, really breaks the flow/immersion on the run. But thankfully for my luck, you are the greatest UA-cam ever and will keep uploading the unedited stuff, thank you very much for that by the way, you are really awesome. Even though I will stick with unedited, hope this works out and you grow even more! :)
Agreed. It could really use some more transitions or lead in after each cut. My eyes kept darting around trying to catch up because my focus was somewhere else on the previous cut. There is very little time to soak in the situation/scene before it was already moving on. While shorter videos would be more digestable, this seems too... random. It reminds me of tv episode teasers where they show you a few clips but you have to watch the full episode to follow the storyline. This is definitely more of "highlight" style video... as long as the full episdoes are being released I guess...
Edited Rimworld streams are amazing! I hope you consider releasing edited versions of your old series too someday!

I think your editor deserves some recognition. This was very well edited. The transitions are smooth between cuts, the conversation flows between cuts, and the effects are appropriate and funny without being over the top and illustrate your point. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to the next episode!

Easier to watch the edited version on youtube than watching the 3hour vod. I enjoy your content and yours is one of my goto channels for rimworld entertainment.
Just adding my support for the edited format. While I love watching hours long sessions the reality is I only have a limited amount of time and sometimes Rimworld can be a slow game where nothing happens for a long time so I feel like an edited format is going to be a perfect fit.
This edited video format is so much more watchable in a single sitting then the longform videos. I often just turn those on and leave them running while I do other stuff but only pay attention when I'm trying to improve my own gameplay

So my hands down favorite rimworld content up till now has been Francis John, because he cuts out all the boring stuff and gets a lot of content down to 1 hour episodes, I also quite like his editing style. I am absolutely loving this new take, and while I liked watching parts of your last series, unedited streams were far too long for me sadly. I'm excited to see how this turns out! Keep up the good work! The edit was quite good out of the gate!

I like the edited viedo format! The editing feels good, especially the jeans joke. Maybe the fart cloud was a lil bit to much but overall i say it was a good job.
I don't watch a lot of youtube rimworld content, finding most of it uninteresting, yet I always love the runs you do. Sadly I can't bring myself the focus to watch an entire run in vod without getting distracted, these editted runs are great for me, and I hope they'll stay around either which way. I like the editing style in this video too, so it feels to me like you found the perfect editor for your videos! Keep it up!

The stagnation you feel when Randy decides there's gonna be a whole year of nothing but droppods makes me really appreciate modded storytellers especially Perry Persistent from VE series of mods, it keep you on your toes and gives you a very action packed gameplay without Cassandra's genocidal tendencies later on.
Also just discoreved the channel, I always love to discover another rimworld content creator

So. Honest feedback. I love the shorter version. I am one of those people who likes to watch the whole thing (not just let it run in the background), so with the amount of videos (and their length) you were going lately, I haven't been able to keep up 😞 So I like what was done here, the editing was not overdone or anything and I can't wait for the next episode 🙂👍👍👍

I really like 30min format. Not too long, but also chill and calm. Editing was smooth (especially transitions), but I’m not sure if I’m a fan of silly stuff. Nonetheless, very pleasant to watch.
The edits are really good quality, and I think what I value most about the edited content is it will help me catch up on runs I may have missed on stream, without needing to binge all the long form content!

I really do appreciate the edited version here, I can fit the content into my schedule a lot easier now! The only thing I might want to mention is that the pacing is a little fast, going from beat to beat doesn't leave much time for digestion. I would just say don't feel bound to the "30:00" episode format, a little longer with some breathing room would be nice.
gotta say, nice edit. I normally don't have time to watch the full VOD, so I appreciate the good 30 minutes of video time

I really liked this to be honest. I have to drop a lot of series because I got too far behind with the longform videos. Now I'll have these to keep me current more easily and I can still go watch the longform videos if I have a bunch of time instead.

I thought this was well done. I will watch these even if I've been present for most of the stream, to catch up on any highlights I might have missed. Plus this will fix my issue of starting a run but never finishing because the next run starts before I've had time to watch the first one.
