- Our Dwarves, starving and cold, enter their new mountain home ... but it appears as though it is already occupied.
Another exploratory, chill Biotech run before we get into the super challenging stuff! This time we're testing out custom Xenotypes, genes, and children! ...lots and lots of children.
This is the first ever edited stream run for the channel! It will be a learning process. I am both excited and anxious to get these out to you! Be nice, lol.

This full playthrough is played on Losing Is Fun set to +500% difficulty without pausing against Cassandra Classic. The run started with a custom scenario, Xenotype, and Ideology. You can download them to use for free at my website: adamvseverything.com/downloads

*No Pause - Adam is using a mod that disables pause in every portion of the game. This means it is impossible for him to pause with a key press and the game will not pause during events or trade, making things much more difficult.
** Losing is Fun set to +500% is the hardest difficulty in unmodded RimWorld

I am aware some of the music is too loud and the cuts make the music itself jarring. I have some ideas in place to prevent this in future series but this one is already recorded so can't do anything about it. Some of it will be cleaned up in episode 3 and beyond, but some we can't do anything about until new recordings are done.
This is the first edited (non guide) video series on the channel! This will be a learning process for both me and the editor, be nice! :P
The goal was to still have the same chill feel from a normal full-length vod, but to condense it for easier watching. The ultimate goal will be to have one of these out to you every weekday and a guide every weekend (eventually).
Like the long form content more or want to watch both? Never fear! That will also continue. I may test putting them on a different channel or still jsut add them ehre as well. We'll see. This is all very experimental.

The edited vids are awesome, I'm going to watch both though, the extended full version feeds my need to binge watch stuff.
I like the thought of the sorter vids, currently feels too jump cutty, I feel like once the editor finds their feet with the audience the watch experience will be better. 5/10 we'll see where this goes.

I much prefer this style of content, I know it takes quite a bit more work, but its worth it IMHO!
One of my favorite UA-camrs does primarily Battletech/Mechwarrior content. He started trying out variety stuff, and I loved it. I actually bought a couple of the games he played. Unfortunately, even I could see that the views on his variety videos were 1/3 to 1/2 of his mainline Mechwarrior stuff. It sucks because he clearly enjoyed doing it, but in the past few months he's gone back to straight robots all the time. I get it as a financial or career thing, I just wish that more creators were free to expand a little without losing their audience.

So far nice edited videos! Gives the bullet points, you see the colonie grow and is really nice for when wanting to catch up a bit on the streaming episodes, if combining it with watching the full streams when time is available.

felt soo bad for mule. the dwarves are the real monsters. they made fun of her for being ugly. She went across the lands fighting starvation as they did not give her any food and make money to prove herself to the colony only to come back without a bed because the colony thought she would die. She again tried fitting in by mining but was made fun of again till she snapped. She tried her best and was killed when all she wanted was a place to fit in.

Really love the edited content! Of course the full VODs are great as well, but idk why I have trouble watching a entire run so end up jumping from one to another, surely this will make it easier to watch it start to finish :)
Hearing Adam talk about turrets makes me wonder how he feels about the uranium slug turret and the autocannon. In my experience the cannons are NASTY against anything and slug turrets are overkill for pawns, but blow centipedes to smithereens.
Must say, I'm really enjoying this edited series. These cuts are hilarious.

Love this! Loved your points about no pause. Its refreshing to watch as before I really only have watched Pete Complete and while I love the pause and plan the perfect defense this is a bit more exciting!

These are a lot easier to watch than the full playthroughs, so I'm more inclined to watch all of it. The full playthroughs I usually just put on intermittently while I do other stuff. Fun video.

I like turrets for defending prison escapes. Stick them so their max range is near the door, and with the prisoners moving slowly from shackles they'll usually get taken down before they reach the turret. Escaped prisoners aren't that hard to deal with anyway, but it lets your pawns do their normal work. (And I freely admit to using the unpowerd wire cheese).

I'm loving these shorter episodes. While I love watching you commit atroc-- play Rimworld, the 3-4 hour episodes are a little daunting, especially when there are whole swathes of low-to-no activity moments.

I like these edited videos more than I thought I would! I may be in the minority but I mainly like the cut footage, I'm not super into the humorous edits or zoom ins. I enjoyed the no frills aspect of the vods, but I like the shorter cuts for more concentrated content. Overall I'm going to continue watching the edited videos though!

If people are looking for a way to use "wanderer joins" to get more of their xenotype "Q's BioTech Patches" changes it so their xenotype is that of one of the ritual performers
I'm *digging* the edited streams so far. I also love watching full unedited stream vids, but these are nice too if I need to limit my watch time lol. The editing is just right and not obnoxious or overdone like some people tend to do.

if you played total Warhammer I'd watch you. I don't really like that game but watching you play it the way you play RimWorld would hopefully motivate me to try again. Basically playing games similar to RimWorld i think wouldn't be too bad is what I'm saying.

8:25 made me laugh so hard i choked
yesterday cassandra hit me with a pack of rats, a warg, a raid, plague, and then a lightning storm that nearly burned my base down. that night i lost the two who were injured and a slaver showed up in the night. i bought one new colonist. the next day i sent that colonist on a quest for a pile of gold. when they got there they were ambushed by monkeys and killed. then my final colonist went crazy and smashed everything up. all within two in game days. i had no more plant cutters so no more firewood. that was the end of that colony. after that i bought all 3 dlc and started a new one. i love what little iv seen of biotech so far.

Some feedback on the editing. This one was better than the first. I think probably just the set up of the run was a bit jarring when edited. I’m more likely to watch a 30 min edited video than a 6 hour unedited one.

I enjoy how the editor is low-key commentating, but I predict that in a run or two they'll be as heartless and callous and desensitized to travesty as Adam's audience in general.

I think it would be better using smoothing for walls then constructing new ones because a new Wal has about 500 HP and a smooth wall about 900 hp

Is beer or smokeleaf ever really worth using outside of a themed run? I feel like tea is just flat out better but maybe there's some upside I'm not thinking of.
Well, I would be interested in you playing different stuff, but I know that you don't get a lot of views with those right now. But maybe for starters Going Medieval, Dwarf Fortress and Stranded: Alien Dawn since all 3 are a bit similiar to Rimworld and maybe that could draw some interest. I can't be the only curious how a Rimworld veteran would review and play those other games.

I have been trying to find the mod that lets you get non baseliner pawns on ideology rituals or moredlc integration between eachother but i cant find it. Can you say its name please?
Loving these edited videos, the only suggestion I would have is to lower the sound of the added joke effects. They are a tad louder then everything else in the video and can be a bit jarring.

You said add block costs you pennies, how much does 1 person watching adds on your video make you? i might start dropping by and donating to the stream with your add revenue. I watch every edited video you put up on UA-cam. I am catching up on the backlog right now.
Constructive criticism:
Since you're editing down to 30 minute rimworld videos? The side talk segments don't really do it for me. So talking about SC2 for instance? Being bored of rimworld? It takes away from the content of the video. I'll watch live streams and I love the chat participation piece of it but for a video like this? It just feels like filler and we're already in condensed 30 minute segments.
